Antonio Salieri believes that Mozart's music is divine. He wishes he was himself as good a musician as Mozart so that he can praise the Lord through composing. But he can't understand why God favored Mozart, such a vulgar creature, to be his instrument. Salieri's envy has made him an enemy of God whose greatness was evident in Mozart. He is set to take revenge.

One of the all time great movies. OK not historically accurate all the time, but few movies are. This was the pinnacle of Tom Hulce\'s career.

this is still a good story and plenty entertaining....good music of course. And I loved the costuming and makeup.

Make sure not Director's Cut02 November 2009

The Director's Cut is horrible. If not the director's cut, the movie is so-so. There are lots of historical inaccuracies. Salieri was not jealous of Mozart... in fact Salieri had the more desirable job. The two really had very little to do with each other.
