more
Only six chefs remain. "Only the best of the best get to wear this here," Jason says of the new black coats. The contestants head upstairs to toast pink-colored cocktails. The next morning, however, it's back to business. "For today's challenge, we are going to focus on presentation," says Ramsay, explaining that the dishes they prepare in 25 minutes will be photographed by a "noted food photographer." Once the cooking is completed, Alex Vasilescu snaps photos of each item. Later, an army of visiting culinary students arrives to judge the "art" while the contestants remake their dishes in the kitchen. Ramsay explains that the top two photographed dishes will be judged for taste.Ed and Ben win the photograph contest. Guest judge Tanya Steele then tastes both fish dishes -- and declares Ben the winner! The reward: Ben and his dish will be photographed for Epicurious.com, meaning the shaggy haired chef will have to undergo a makeover. Ben first gets a haircut -- even though his wife likes it long. Then, the chef has his eyebrows plucked. "It hurt like a bitch!" Ben tells the camera. He eventually emerges the dressing room looking like a new man and poses with his culinary creation. The other contestants, meanwhile, are busy cleaning the entire restaurant -- and talking teasingly about sex. "I have two goals in Hell's Kitchen," Jay tells the camera. "One is to win and my second is to sleep with Holli." He isn't joking either. Autumn wonders if the two might share a love connection. Suddenly, Ben arrives looking snazzy -- or snazzy for Ben. "New jeans, new shoes, new shirt, new haircut, but same old dork," Holli says.Later, Ben's challenge-winning dish is put on the menu -- and it's quite complicated, prompting complaints from Autumn, Jay and Holli. "It's just ridiculous," Holli says. Will the multi-ingredient concoction affect the speed of dinner service? We'll see. With service about to begin, Ramsay announces that a VIP guest will eventually arrive to eat at the table in the kitchen. In the meantime, the regular customers begin streaming in for dinner -- and ordering Ben's complicated halibut dish. Everything is going swimmingly until Ramsay notes that Autumn, who is least busy on desserts, isn't very busy. Somehow, this inactivity is Ben's fault for not talking enough. After getting screamed at, Ben slips and falls -- and drops his chicken in the process. Autumn laughs.Ed, in the meantime, is falling apart by delivering consistently raw halibut. Ramsay BANGS on the table in anger like a child. As a result of Ed's incompetence, Jay begins to fall behind on garnish (because he has to redo his job when Ed screws up his). Orders quickly begin to back up at the pass and Ramsay demands that everyone "Stop!" Ed has delivered his fifth helping of raw fish. "I got behind," Ed tells the camera. Later, Ben compounds the problem by delivering undercooked beef. "You can cook, but you can't lead!" Ramsay tells Ben. "You got your head up your ***!" Ramsay has had ENOUGH. He kicks Ben and Ed out of the kitchen. "I wasn't in the zone, you know?" Ed says. The remaining chefs respond by finding a rhythm in the kitchen. Soon, Whoopi Goldberg and friends arrive to eat in the kitchen. "She didn't make nervous at all because she's very friendly!" Holli tells the camera. Dinner service completed, Ramsay tells the cooks to pick the two overall poorest performing chefs for elimination. After a heated argument in the dorm, the group chooses Autumn and Ed. Ramsay wastes no time before asking Ed to turn in his jacket. "You're disintegrating, big boy," Ramsay tells the departing cook. The next day, Ramsay greets the five remaining chefs at an area market. He gives each contestant $10 to buy enough ingredients to create a fabulous dish. After the shopping spree, the group returns to the kitchen for 30 minutes of furious cooking! "I got a strategy: win," says Jason, whose frozen ravioli looks less than appealing. Time runs out and Ramsay introduces three guest judges: Joaquim Splichal, Dana Bowen and Vern Lakusta. Each will taste and decide how much they'd be willing to pay for it. "The chef with the highest average price is going to win the challenge," Ramsay explains.Jay is first. His lamb crusted in fried pita bread gets high marks all around for a $28.66 average. Jason's pan-seared tilapia over eggplant ravioli gets dinged for the pre-packaged, resulting in an average of $16. Ben's seared lamb chop with artichokes doesn't go over well, either -- and earns an average of $25. Autumn's New England boil with veal receives gushes from the judges for an average of $27.33. Finally, Holli presents her tuna served in bacon with spices -- and WINS with an average of $29.66!Her reward: a private poolside cabana followed by a $1,000 shopping spree at a kitchen-supply store. The best part? Holli gets to take a friend. She chooses Jay -- and he is quite visibly thrilled to be going on the "date." "I'm pretty psyched to spend quality time with Holli," Jay tells the camera. The two heavily FLIRT while eating dinner with JP -- so much so that the Hell's Kitchen employee suggests they get a room. Later, the pair goes shopping and continues to make eyes at each other. Upon returning to the dorms, they strip down and hit the hot tub. "Holy crap, this is going down," Autumn observes. The next evening, the group assembles for dinner service. Ramsay announces that the chefs will continually change stations in an effort to make them communicate. Jason sends up some bum scallops before Ramsay yells, "Switch!" Ben manages to (badly) overdo Holli's tuna dish before the next "switch" is called. A (badly) flustered Jay then sends up (badly) overdone fish. After the next switch, Autumn beings to take charge -- and Jay continues to look lost. Ben then jumps in uninvited on Holli's fish station -- and promptly screws up the scallops and becomes more or less unresponsive.Ramsay then leaves the kitchen for a moment and sous chef Scott takes over -- though Ben doesn't seem to understand. The contestant starts announcing orders as HE were the new Ramsay. Scott is apoplectic. "If you think you can do my job, I'll leave right!" Scott screams. "You think you can do it!? Get the **** over there and don't ever come up to my pass again!" The dinner service mercifully ends and Ramsay has more unkind words for the gang. "Here's what I saw tonight: one, two, three, four, five ... LINE COOKS!" Ramsay roars. Later, Holli announces the nominees for elimination: Ben and Jason.Ramsay chooses ... Jason. "You haven't finished in this industry yet," Ramsay tells the big boy. "Thank you." Jason removes his jacket, but announces he is "proud" of his performance. "It was wonderful," he says. "But I'd never ******* do it again."

Blue and red team are tied.Josiah Citrin judges Jay and Ben. Ben made poached lobster tail with parsnip puree. Josiah calls it sloppy. Jay serves up a lobster knuckle and black truffle cappuccino with lobster brioche and creme fraiche. Citrin tells Jay his lobster is raw. There's no winner. "Neither one I would want to eat, at the end of the night," Josiah says.Ramsay breaks the tie by giving a point to the person with the best dish overall: Holli. Red team finally wins. They're going to a caviar house then shopping with $1,000 each.
Jason is sick over missing out on shopping.Autumn thinks she's a good luck charm. For punishment, Ramsay tells the blue team to clean the dorms then prep both kitchens. Jay sulks over not winning. He thinks Josiah was wrong about it being raw.The girls and Ben head out in a stretch SUV. The blue team starts cleaning. At Petrossian Paris, the caviar house, Holli thinks the owner is adorable. Meanwhile, a large theatre goer complains vociferously about not having food.Jason gets raves from Ramsay for cooking his beef Wellington properly.Jay tries to get Nilka to communicate, but she's still behind. And she serves up raw lobster. Ramsay sends her away. He yells at her to take her jacket off and leave. She screams back "Please don't say that!" then slams a door on a camera man and kicks a "wet floor" sign. Then a few minutes later, she comes back downstairs. Ramsay tells her again to stop cooking and leave. She lingers, begging to cook something. He keeps yelling at her to leave then finally tells the other chefs to get her to leave. "Hurricane Nilka just had an absolute category 5 meltdown," Jay says."It pisses me off that it went down like this," she says.Things to run more smoothly when she finally leaves.Upstairs, she packs up and heads out. Ramsay meets her at the cab. He tells her to hold her head high and keep following her dream. She says mad at herself because she knew she could do better. He says he's never come out to say goodbye before, but he wanted to. And then he laughs as he asks for her jacket which she reluctantly hands over.He tells the remaining chefs it might have been their best service ever. Chef Ramsay tells Ed he started shaky but fought back and tells Jason he nailed every piece of meat. He asks for two nominees.Jason suggests Ed and Autumn. Jay seconds Autum, who in turn says Ed and Jason. Jason laughs at the idea he did anything wrong.Ben nominates Ed and Autumn, saying she's the weakest cook on either team. Ed vows to keep working hard. Ramsay chides him for burning his pans.He tells Ed to take off his jacket. Then he congratulates him for making the final six. Same to Autumn and everyone else. Ramsay congratulates everyone with a high five.He tells them well done and sends them away.
Jason is tired of being under-estimated. Jay thinks perfection will be necessary."Tonight was the best service we've had in Hell's Kitchen and that's why I rewarded the final six. Now, only the best chefs remain. Nilka was clearly out of her depth," Ramsay says.

more
Reader discretion is advised as foul-mouthed Gordon Ramsay is back and BLEEPING. Personal chef Jason isnt nervous about facing tough competition from the other 15 chefs. High-school cooking teacher Ed doesnt want to describe himself as cocky, but Hells Kitchen is going to be a piece of cake. The contestants enter the dining room to the flashing cameras of the media. Ramsay then guarantees that the first-night dinner service will be completed. Its never been done before, notes personal chef Autumn. The cooks soon begin making their signature dishes. Stacey is a celebrity chef who has cooked for Nathan Lane AND Martin Short. Banquet chef Holli, meanwhile, plans on playing that cute factor. Minutes later, the cooking is complete and Ramsay readies for the tasting. An unnamed cookbook author is first. Apart from it looking like baby vomit, what is it? Ramsay asks. He then declares it delicious before he starts making out with the woman. It turns out to be Ramsays wife in a wig. His point: It doesnt matter if you have no experience; its the food that counts. Or something like that.First off (for real this time) is kitchen supervisor Maria versus pizzeria chef Salvatore. Marias filet is cooked perfectly; heavily accented Salvatores pasta is undercooked and embarrassing. One point for the women. Next up is culinary instructor Benjamin versus Holli. The formers lobster and pasta is absolutely delicious. The latters halibut is spat out by our gentleman chef and deemed a disaster. With the score tied 1-1, executive chef Scott takes on sous chef Jamie. Jamies dish includes a toothpick hiding in the rice, so Ramsay declines to even taste it (ouch). Scotts duck breast concoction is rather pathetic. A draw. Line cook Mikey and pub chef Siobhan take center stage. After showing off his new Hells Kitchen tattoo (seriously), Mikeys bree with lobster is deemed terrific. Siobhans tuna in mint also works. Another draw.Executive chef Jay then beats Stacey (3-2 guys). Catering chef Fran is trounced by Jason (4-2). Autumn then beats Ed (4-3) before line cook Nilka squares off against creepy farmer Andrew. Her chicken wings are WAY too hot while Andrews steak tartar is bland. No points awarded, so the men win 4-3. Before revealing the reward and punishment, Ramsay announces the ultimate prize: a gig at the Savoy hotel in London. After watching Ramsay give a series of pre-recorded lessons on TV (which run every hour until roughly 2:30 a.m.), the ladies learn that their punishment is to cook breakfast in bed for the men. Later, Hells Kitchen opens its doors to customers.Let the cooking (and BLEEPING) begin.Jay and Nilka prepare Caesar salads by the tables. In the red kitchen, Stacey immediately forgets to add curry powder to the scallops and then delivers raw seafood. In the blue kitchen, Salvatore burns his appetizer and then confuses the orders. Fran gets dizzy from Ramsays blistering critique of her potatoes. She just crumbles, Siobhan says of Fran. Benjamin, meanwhile, tastes the food and stirs the food with the same spoon. Its not only gross, but also earns a verbal assault from Ramsay. Back in the red kitchen, Maria laughs when Ramsay criticizes a cold steak and gets kicked upstairs for it along with Fran and XXX. Later, the red team finally starts putting out entrees, which doesnt speak well for the three ladies cooling their heels in the dorm. The blue kitchen, in the meantime, is completely melting down. Ramsay kicks out Benjamin and Salvatore. Get out of here! Ramsay roars. For good measure, he also kicks out Stacey (for not knowing how long the food will take to cook) and Mikey (for consistently delivering raw halibut). With just nine chefs remaining in the two kitchens, Ramsay decides to combine the groups. Ed takes control and entrees are soon flying out of the kitchen. That was awesome, Ed says after dinner service is completed.Later, Ramsay declares the red team the loser. Come to a consensus on what two of you should be put up for elimination, he says. Upstairs, Stacey admits she was overwhelmed. Maria thinks it is complete crap that she is being considered to be eliminated (even though she was kicked out of the kitchen early). Not surprisingly, Fran also doesnt think she should go home (even though she was kicked of the kitchen early). Ultimately, the team decides on Stacey and Fran, who both promise to do better next time. Ramsay decides that there will be no second time for Stacey, though. She is sent packing.Im used to cooking for people at home and running the show, she tells the camera. I took responsibility for it. Better luck next time, ladies.
