In 2021, the whole world is connected by the gigantic Internet, and almost a half of the population is suffering from the Nerve Attenuation Syndrome (NAS).Johnny with an inplanted memory chip in his brain was ordered to transport the over loaded information from Beijing to Newark. While Pharmakom Industries supported by yakuza tries to capture him to get the informaiton back, the Low-tech group led by J-Bone tries to break the missing code to download the cure of NAS which Johnny carries.

«Johnny Mnemonic» is a 1995 fantasy. Cyberpunk godfather William S. Gibson's story is adapted for the big screen. A courier (Keanu Reeves) is tasked with delivering a volatile data package stored in his brain, but things don't go as planned and he's stuck in a race against time to save his mind. The trick is to get the data out before it explodes, or before an angry mob of evil samurai put him in cold storage for good. There are better Gibson stories that could have been made into a movie, but this was cool back in the day and fun to watch today. Sure Keanu was not the best choice, but Ill guess its what got him the Neo role in Matrix. Dont bother watching this if you plan to compare it to modern big budget... more

this was actually a really enjoyable scifi thriller, for it's time it definitely would have been one of the better one's. worth paying a couple of dollars for.
