At 17 she moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. Rachel studied Shakespeare while at Fordham University and The Actor's Center. After performing in theater in New York and Pennsylvania for two years, she took the advice of one of her directors, moved out of her Hell's Kitchen apartment and drove 3,000 miles west for the pilot season. After two months in Los Angeles, she landed a role in "American Dreams" (2002) on NBC.
