Harry Crane, whose career began in stand-up comedy at the age of nineteen, was a very prolific screenwriter for movies and television over a span of fifty years. After beginning in stand-up comedy, Crane became a screenwriter for MGM Studios. He wrote scripts for movies such as Air Raid Wardens (1943), which starred Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
