Storyline

Danny has found the girl if his dreams, but he's too insecure to make a move. When he lands a job at a local movie theater where she works, he finds out that his first day is her last. After failing miserably at getting her attention, he enlists the help of the chief projectionist, who has watched one too many movies, and no longer sees the difference between film fiction and real life. It's cinema, but not as you know it.

Movie Berry

07October 2009

Writer-director Darren Fisher's innuendo-laden romantic comedy «Popcorn» unfurls entirely within the confines of a British multiplex known as "Moovieworld," where 19-year-old Danny (Jack Ryder) accepts a job with the intention of wooing and winning over usherette Suki (Jodi Albert) - little realizing that it is her last day at the theater. Faced with a very short amount of time in which to act, a desperate Danny cooks up a host of wild schemes designed to catch Suki's attention. He is assisted in his pursuits by fellow worker and consummate movie addict Zak (Luke de Woolfsoon) who vows to teach him the tricks of the trade as illustrated in various romantic movies. Meanwhile, theatrical manager Kris (Andrew-Lee Potts) learns of a "management plant" at the theater making a bundle by reselling old tickets, and decides to reel in the culprit, red-handed. «Popcorn» stars Jack Ryder, Jodi Albert, Kate Maberly, Andrew Lee Potts, Luke de Woolfson. pretty true to life18 December 2009

well, maybe true is a stretch. but as a person who has worked at a movie theater, i thought it was hilarious. and a lot of what was shown in the movie was actually going on, lol. it might not be as funny to those who havent worked at a cinema, but if you have you should definitly give it a look
