Storyline

The standard story of Robin Hood: Evil Prince John is oppressing the people while good King Richard is away on the Crusades. Robin steals from the tax collectors, wins an archery contest, defeats the Sheriff, and rescues Maid Marian. In this version, however, Mel Brooks adds his own personal touch, parodying traditional adventure films, romance films, and the whole idea of men running around the woods in tights.

"Robin Hood: Men in Tights" is a 1993 comedy. It's the classic tale of Robin Hood...reenvisioned by comic master Mel Brooks. As evil Prince John (Richard Lewis) oppresses the people, Robin (Cary Elwes) steals from the tax collectors, triumphs in an archery contest, foils (literally!) the Sheriff of Nottingham (Roger Rees) and makes goo-goo eyes at Maid Marian (Amy Yasbeck). Good for laughs!18 November 2009

An incredibly funny movie that has absolutely zero serious moments. Even the climax was performed in a very humorous way that will have you tearing up in laughter. Some of the scenes in this was so funny I laughed until I almost cried. A fun movie to watch for those looking for pure comedy.
