Open with Peter (Tim DeKay) and...
more
Open with Peter (Tim DeKay) and Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) at home. He's been working from home and leaves a scanner on the living room table. Later, while Elizabeth works from home, she overhears a conversation that sounds like a crime being planned. Reference is made to a specific time and a particular intersection. Elizabeth calls Peter and gives him the tip. Peter and Neal (Matt Bomer) sit at the intersection but nothing happens. They begin to discuss whether Elizabeth is still shaken from the Keller experience when she shows up to see what happened. She's disappointed. It seems they don't fully believe what she heard. Mozzie (Willie Garson) comes over to help Elizabeth monitor the scanner. They hear the same voice again and realize the person is by a car across the street. Mozzie thinks he sees a gun. They watch him go into a house just a few doors away from Elizabeth and Peter's place. Elizabeth and Mozzie play the tape for Neal, which includes reference to a "work order." She doesn't want to tell Peter until she knows for certain she's right. Neal and Mozzie agree to look into it. Jones (Sharif Atkins) and Diana (Marsha Thomason) tell Peter after a complete analysis of the intersection, nothing more interesting than an ATM malfunction and a few phones going down took place. With Mozzie standing guard, Neal looks through the window of the house the man walked into. He sees the duffle bag the man had in his trunk. They are chased away before he can get inside. On the way home, Neal tells him he saw a government-issue lock picking set illegal for private ownership. The plan becomes for Peter to somehow get over there and see the lock picking set on his own. Elizabeth brings over some peas from her garden and introduces herself to the man's wife, Rebecca (Lola Glaudini). Her husband's name is Ben (Joe Manganiello). Elizabeth manages to invite her and Peter over for dinner by saying their kitchen is being remodeled. Before dinner, Peter tells Elizabeth he hates telling people what he does. They always want help with parking tickets. While Peter and Elizabeth are at dinner, Neal and Mozzie watch from the street in a car. Neal clearly enjoys stakeouts, particularly with Peter. Ben tells them he's a painter. Rebecca is a dancer considering retiring. They begin to quiz Peter about what he does. He lets them guess. Elizabeth excuses herself to use the bathroom. Upstairs, Elizabeth goes into another room to look for the bag. Her walking around makes Ben think there might be mice. He goes upstairs to investigate. In the duffle bag, she also finds professional telephone repair equipment and a uniform. Ben goes into the room. Elizabeth hides in the closet. He locks the door after leaving. She's trapped and signals for Mozzie and Neal. Peter wonders what's keeping Elizabeth just as Neal talks her through picking the lock from the fire escape. Just as she opens the door, she walks into Peter, who sees both her and Neal at the window. They pretend Elizabeth isn't feeling well and leave. The gang explains the scheme to an upset Peter. They tell him about the duffle bag. Peter mentions the phones going out. Diana finds out Ben did four years for armed robbery. Neal says he thinks the other day was a dry run for the big score. Peter realizes a criminal lives just down the street and calls Elizabeth to tell her. Just as the phone rings, she's answering the door. It's Ben, returning the dish the peas were in. He ends up coming inside and notices their kitchen is not being remodeled. He makes a few threatening comments and leaves. Peter doesn't want to bring Ben in for fear of scaring him. He sends Mozzie over to watch her. They tail Ben and watch him speaking with fellow ex-con Connor Bailey. This is his accomplice. The plan is for Neal to get close to Ben as an ex-con. They will turn Ben in to his parole officer and plant Neal there to met him after the meeting. The plan works perfectly. Neal and Ben hit it off. He invites him to have a drink at a strip club. While they're there, Ben takes a call and writes down something on a pad. He leaves for a minute. Neal uses a stripper's eyeliner to bring up the letters on the next sheet. The letters form a work order of some kind. Peter has found out Connor is the daytime manager at the strip club. It turns out the heist is at a hotel hosting a gem convention. Ben has been painting the place. The manager says his vault has more than $7 million in it. They get there just as Ben and Connor are leaving with the vault. They fire a few automatic rounds at Peter and Neal and get away in a van. Neal tells Peter he thinks Ben is putting down roots by buying the home. They think Ben is going to sit on his cash and lay low. Elizabeth and Mozzie are at home. Peter calls Elizabeth to tell him what's happening and tells her squad cars are en route. Elizabeth sees Rebecca place bags in her trunk and leave. She makes Mozzie help her follow. Peter says if they can match the exact amount of cash they'll be able to bring them in. Elizabeth calls to tell him they've followed her to the strip club. They see her going inside with three huge, empty bags. Elizabeth makes Mozzie go inside the strip club with her. The plan is to pretend they're FBI. After some coaching from Mozzie, Elizabeth tells Connor she's an agent. They know about the heist. He walks into a back room and tells Ben and Rebecca what is happening. Rebecca and Ben see who it is on the surveillance cameras and start grabbing weapons. Mozzie creates a distraction, buying them enough time to get away. Elizabeth ends up knocking out Rebecca with a vase. Ben and Connor are apprehended outside.

On the Fence
We open with Neal (Matt Bomer)...
more
We open with Neal (Matt Bomer) comparing the manifest he found in Peter's safe to what is left in the treasure. He is pleased to see Mozzie (Willie Garson) has not sold the Degas painting he had been considering. Mozzie comes in with a tabloid headline, convinced "they're on to us." Hale (who he's lined-up to fence the Degas) and Sara (Hilarie Burton) are the two people who can potentially connect them with the treasure. Neal continues to lie to Mozzie, saying they can't leave the country until they have the list.Neal sees Sara on the street. She tells him she's seen the treasure. They go back and forth about whether she would have wanted to join him and whether he would have asked her to come. They appear to firmly end their relationship as Peter (Tim DeKay) happens by.We learn in a unit meeting that Matthew Keller (Ross McCall) is back. He's been taking advantage of political unrest in Egypt, stealing artifacts while the country is distracted. He's stolen an especially rare amulet that is now believed to be in Manhattan. The Egyptian government wants it returned.Out on the street, Peter asks Neal if it's possible Keller thinks Neal has the U-Boat treasure. Neal thinks they should use this possibility to take him down. Keller is nearby, watching them. The New York connection between Keller and the stolen amulet has been found. Egyptologist and known fencer Raquel LaRoque (nm02444630). LaRoque is known for hiding artifacts in cheap looking, X-ray proof trinkets.Neal and Mozzie meet with Hale, for whom Mozzie's recently tricked-out a car. Hale asks about the Degas. Mozzie says it will help that deal get done faster if he can facilitate a meeting between Neal and LaRoque.Neal learns Peter is hesitant to tell Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) about Keller being involved in this case. Neal meets LaRoque at a restaurant. Peter's plan is to grab them both and then when Neal doesn't flip she'll trust him.Instead, Neal and LaRoque duck out the back of the restaurant once Peter and his team make an appearance. Hale never shows. LaRoque tells Neal she has a package she believes contains the amulet, but the partner in charge of disguising it was arrested. She tells Neal she will be in touch.Mozzie calls Neal. Hale is dead. Using a hidden camera, Mozzie installed in Hale's car we see the killer was Keller, finally confirming for Peter and the team he is in New York. Peter wants to shut down the operation. Neal convinces him LaRoque is the best way to ferret him out.Keller approaches Sara as an Interpol agent. He says telling him something about the treasure is the only way to protect Neal from a life in prison.Neal is to rendezvous with LaRoque at her lab the following day.Sara stops by Neal's place and finds Mozzie. She tells him she gave an Interpol agent the IP address of the closed circuit feed. Mozzie moves to shut down the feed. They figure out the "Interpol agent" was Keller.Mozzie tells Neal about Keller posing as Interpol. Mozzie has re-set the feed. The plan is for him to secure the art. Mozzie also seems interested in stopping Keller "once and for all."Neal's anklet is removed. They give him a bugged watch. The second he determines the amulet is rea,l he is to give a trigger word. The team will then move in.Neal enters LaRoque's lab.Mozzie places a $6 million bounty on Keller's head.Neal and LaRoque flirt continually while uncovering the amulet. Neal gives the trigger word just as Keller enters the lab. He is well aware of Peter's team outside. They won't be coming in. LaRoque realizes who Neal is, grabs a gun and leaves. Keller tells Neal he's there for the treasure. Neal realizes the whole amulet plan as a set-up to get the art.Outside, someone tells LaRoque of the price on Keller's head.Neal tells Keller he doesn't have the treasure. He says "I know you don't."In the van Peter realizes they've been listening to an audio loop and orders the team to move in.Keller shows Neal footage of men carting boxes from the room where the art is being kept. He says "I won." Neal punches him. Keller fires a shot into the wall. Peter gets to the door. Keller ducks away. Neal shuts off the computer before letting Peter in. Keller is gone. Peter turns off Neal's GPS bugged watch. He sneaks off. On his way to the warehouse, Neal calls Mozzie. Mozzie confirms the art is still there. They realize Keller was trying to trick Neal into leading him to the warehouse. Neal heads to a different location with the plan being for him to draw the feds there by turning on his bug. They hang up. Mozzie calls the man with whom he placed the bounty to say where Keller is located.Neal and Keller have another showdown. Neal tells him the feds are on their way. Keller doesn't believe him. Keller gives up on Neal and is about to shoot him. Peter and the team come in. While Keller is being taken into custody, LaRoque takes a shot at him. The agents are distracted by locating the shooter, the result being Keller is able to escape.Neal explains his sneaking away was a plan to grab Keller. Peter seems to buy it and mentions the bounty. LaRoque is brought in. She and Neal kiss.Neal runs into Sara in the FBI office. She is there to give Peter her statement. She promises his secret is safe.Peter tells Elizabeth about Keller getting away. She's upset he wasn't up-front with her earlier. He tells her about the bounty. While viewing the closed circuit feed, Neal sees the Degas is missing. Mozzie walks in and admits to fencing it to pay for the bounty. Neal then tells Mozzie the Degas was on the manifest, admitting he lied to him about having it. They realize they're screwed unless they are able to get the painting back.

Neal (Matt Bomer) and Peter (Tim DeKay) check into the case of a woman named Selena ( Mädchen Amick), a "black widow" who has four rich dead husbands. She's on her way to New York. The deaths are listed as natural: heart attack, embolism, sky diving accident. They're waiting for the fourth results. But she hasn't filed for any of the insurance claims. There's a Manhattan Millionaires Bachelor auction coming up. Peter wants Neal and Jones (Sharif Atkins) to pose. They need a third. Neal suggests Peter.Peter breaks the news to Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen), who reassures him he'll sell high.Sara (Hilarie Burton) advises Neal. He's going to have to throw his meetings with the other women so the black widow doesn't get outbid.Elizabeth tries to remind Peter he's having a conversation, not an interrogation. At the event, Jones introduces himself as "Arthur", a pastry baron to multi-million dollar dessert empire. The organizer, Gerald Jameson (Jonathan Silverman), calls for the auction to begin. Diana (Marsha Thomason) is also in the crowd; she sidles up to Selena. They get five minutes to talk to each man.The mingling begins. Peter awkwardly chats up a woman from Ohio, trying to make conversation about Cleveland. Arthur talks exuberantly about pastry.
Neal tells one woman he loves hunting baby deer, then interrupts her to answer his cell phone. On his next date he checks sports scores.Diana tells Peter that Selena is looking for someone sincere, but not self-assured.The guys all take turns with Selena. When it's Peter's turn, he stalls awkwardly. Then he tells her he's not up for all the small talk and just wants a real conversation. He wishes her luck finding someone. It's auction time. A bidding war breaks out over Arthur, who goes for $11,000. Selena tells Diana he was too charming. Nobody bids on Neal. They have to lower the price, until finally Diana takes him for $1,000. Selena says he's too young. Before they can start bidding for Peter, Selena offers $15,000 and wins.Back home, Peter enjoys getting the second-highest bid ever. He plans to plant a bug in her house and be done with the op.At the office, Peter takes a call from Selena. She won't let him pick her up so he realizes he'll have to make it through their whole date and make her want to take him home.At the restaurant, Neal presents Diana with a fancy picnic in the surveillance van for helping him save face. She suggests he should cook for Sara sometime because "Insurance Adjuster Barbie" would love it.Peter seems to be doing well with Selena inside. She asks him to dance during a slow song, but it quickly turns into a tango. Neal tries to advise him to bail, but Peter actually knows what he's doing. They dance a sultry tango. She whispers in his ear after, inviting him back to her place. She blows out the receiver in his earpiece so they can hear Peter but he can't hear them.Back at Selena's house, she goes to change. There's no computer so he can't put a key logger on it. Selena starts stripping. Peter puts a bug on her purse.Diana gets word from Jones. Selena's fourth husband died of a stabbing during a mugging. She was the only witness.Back inside, Selena comes out in a negligee and uses an ice pick to chop up ice. She holds onto it ominously as she offers Peter a drink. He spills it on himself to get out of the situation, but she just starts helping him strip instead.Neal calls from the van with the sound effects of a factory faked in the call. Selena answers. He tells her they need him now at work.He says goodbye, but not before she kisses him and says she'll see him tomorrow night. They listen to a call she made after he left, telling a man she'll have Peter proposing by the end of the week and then it'll be his turn.Peter and Neal break the news to Elizabeth, who isn't happy he's still undercover.Neal excuses himself to meet Sara at his place. When she gets there, he has candles lit up all over.Peter picks Selena up. She announces she wants to go to his house. Peter leaves Neal a message, saying he has to clear out of his place so he can commandeer it.Neal is out on his balcony and doesn't see his phone. He comes in to see a text from Peter just in time to shuffle Sara into a closet with wine.Neal's apartment used to be a speakeasy. The giant walk in closet has a viewing room, where he and Sara settle in. Selena sees the easels and insists Peter sketch her. He writes "help me" so Neal can see. Neal starts drawing from his closet. He apologizes to Sara for the turn in their evening.
"Any guy can make a girl dinner. Only you could sketch a black widow from a hidden back room," she says.Selena asks Peter how he set up the evening. Just then, Mozzie (Willie Garson) bursts in. Peter explains Mozzie is his man "Haversham" and he set everything up. Mozzie gets what's going on and plays along, going into the closet to talk to Neal when Peter asks for his suit.Neal finishes his drawing, but adds a final touch. Sara thinks Peter will be mad.
Mozzie takes the sketch pad out with the suit Peter asked for and hands it over without Selena seeing. Then he hits Peter up for $50 "to pick up the dry cleaning" and leaves.Peter shows Selena the drawing, but doesn't notice the ring until she does. He has to go along with it.Back home, Elizabeth isn't happy her husband is engaged. He says he just needs to go along long enough to find Selena's partner. Elizabeth suggests he needs an event planner to get Selena's guest list.Cut to Elizabeth meeting with the happy couple. Selena has no list. Elizabeth understands wanting to keep it small and says her wedding got too big. Peter tries to keep his real wife happy and fake being excited about his new one.Peter leaves. Elizabeth asks Selena if she's been married before, saying she needs the documentation for the wedding license.Outside at the car, Peter is about to get in when a car barrels at him. He jumps out of the way and is fine. Selena shoos Elizabeth away and says she doesn't know what she would do if something happened to him.Later, Peter tells Neal how the near miss led to a conversation about what would happen if he died. She says she wouldn't want any of his money, but he should leave it to charity. Peter checks her dead husband's wills. They all made large charitable contributions to organizations which don't exist anymore.Diana comes in having tracked down the fake name of the lawyer Selena gave Elizabeth. It led back to the auctioneer Gerald Jameson, who hosts dating events worldwide and moves around a lot.Neal proposes he'll go talk to him. He brings Mozzie. Gerald says his next event is in Florida in two months. He punches in a keycode for his office door. Mozzie makes note. Neal asks Gerald if he rents out his space, saying Peter asked him to host something.
Cut to a raging bachelor party.Neal explains it's the perfect cover for getting into the office. Peter distracts Gerald while Neal goes into the locked office with Mozzie. They come up empty.
Neal suggests there's a way to get Selena to lead them straight to the money. It will require a camera and some shots.
They call Gerald over. Neal and Peter dump theirs and get Jameson loaded.Diana knocks on Selena's door and IDs herself as FBI. She tells Selena that Jameson is dead and shows her a picture. She says she's looking into the charity. When Diana leaves Selena goes straight to the bank. Jones calls Jameson and he wakes up on the floor of his office to a fraud alert on his phone.
Selena leaves the bank with a bag. Jameson meets her on the street. They're quickly surrounded. They show pictures of the night before, which included Jameson bragging he had a big payday coming. They have it all on tape.Selena tries to suck up to Peter, saying she thought they had something. "At least the tango was real?" she pleads.
They take her away.
Peter mentions the arrangements for the wedding are all booked.Jones goes to get Elizabeth, telling her Peter needs her help right away. She meets him in Neal's totally made up apartment, draped with lights and gauze and candles. He apologizes for what she went through and says he's giving her the small wedding she already wanted, getting down on one knee to ask her to marry him again.
Mozzie, who says he has been ordained twice, serves as officiant. Elizabeth couldn't be happier.

Open with Neal (Matthew Bomer) and...
more
Open with Neal (Matthew Bomer) and Peter (Tim DeKay) taking fake Rolex watches to evidence. When they arrive, Sara (Hilarie Burton) is there. She and Neal reference the other night. They agree it was "hot."Peter tells the team the plan is to take down Ponzi scheme perpetrator Vincent Adler (Andrew McCarthy). They know he is looking for U-Boat 869. The contents are unknown, but he's since he's searching for it off the New York coast, it means they can find him.Peter wants Diana (Marsha Thomason) and Jones (Sharif Atkins) to look for Alex (Gloria Votsis). After they leave, Neal tells Sara he and Alex are "over."Mozzie (Willie Garson) wildly speculates about the contents of the sub. Mozzie has a way for them to locate the sub's SOS signal (the fractal.) Peter has Neal call Alex in an attempt to narrow the search area. Adler answers her phone saying only "the lady doesn't want to be disturbed."Locating Alex is now a higher priority. Mozzie has learned she was in town a few weeks ago trying to pawn more silver through a small-time crook named Teddy.Neal tells Peter that Teddy likes hot merchandise.Neal and Mozzie meet with Teddy. They bring along the Rolexes. Peter and Jones bust the "deal" and Neal pretends to help Teddy beat the search. Teddy now owes him one and says the last he knew Alex was headed to the Conservatory garden.Security tapes indicate Alex disappeared in the garden. Peter and Neal re-trace her steps in the garden. They lose track of each other. Back at the entrance, Peter gets a call. It's Adler telling him to get into a limo that now contains Neal.Inside the car, Peter is disarmed and instructed to unlock his anklet. Adler says he's taking them to Alex and has them drink a knockout drug. They wake up to find Alex is in the same predicament they are. Alder walks in and opens the doors to reveal they are in a massive warehouse and the U-Boat itself is sitting right there. He says the U-Boat was scuttled after the war and the Germans were never able to come back for it. Adler's father was the lone surviving crew member, which is why he knows so much. The boat is riddled with explosive measures. Adler wants Neal to get inside for him. Alex is the insurance policy. Peter will be helping Neal.Sara goes to Neal's and finds Mozzie finishing up the SOS-detector. The both realize something is wrong since Neal is 30 minutes late. With Adler able to watch and listen to their every move from behind blast-proof doors, Neal and Peter open a door next to the hatch and find a code-breaking machine sitting on a ton of TNT.With Neal's ankle monitor out of commission, Diana and Jones realize something is up. Especially when they figure out Peter disarmed it.After a timer counts down the an explosion, Alex tells Neal what to type in order to deactivate the explosives. They open the sub's primary hatch.Diana and Jones meet Sara and Mozzie (who has brought his machine) at the garden.Neal and Peter enter the sub. They finds billions of dollars' worth of Nazi plunder. At this point, Neal rips off his video glasses, cutting off contact with Adler. They find something which looks like Mozzie's fractal and rip it off the wall. Alder walks down and has his security take the three away.In the van Mozzie starts getting a moving signal.Adler's security dumps Neal, Peter and Alex in a dry dock slowly filling with water. They manage to untie themselves and get free just as Diana and Jones arrive. After realizing they are safe, Neal and Alex kiss. Of course, Sara sees.Since Neal, Peter and Alex were re-drugged before being taken away from the sub, they don't know the location of the U-Boat. They think Adler wants to ship the art to Europe, but can't until the end of the week. They narrow it down to a large area of Battery Park. Neal and Peter plan to head home and let others handle the search.Sara introduces herself to Alex. They start chatting and Jones points this out to Neal. Later Alex tells Neal about her grandfather encoding the SOS tracker into the music box. She never believed his stories about the treasure until she was given a key on his death bed. She calls Neal a "wonderful treasure just out of reach" and says good-bye.Neal tries to explain Alex to Sara but she doesn't want to hear it. They're interrupted by Peter inviting them both to dinner at his house.Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) talks to Sara about never trying to change Peter. She also says Sara can trust Neal "when it counts." In the other room, Peter talks about how happy is to be a stable husband. Neal isn't sure that life is for him. Neal tells Sara when he said things were over with Alex, he meant it. She kisses him and says "you owe me lunch."The team has Adler and his sub narrowed to one of 15 warehouses. With Neal left alone at the truck, he wanders around and ends up running into Adler. Adler says he has an 18-wheeler full of the art ready to go inside the warehouse. He offers Neal half the booty if he helps him escape the FBI perimeter. Neal asks about Kate's death. Adler says when Peter showed up, it ruined Kate's plan of blowing up the plane over the ocean while she and Neal parachuted to safety. Adler decided he couldn't wait and detonated the plane on the ground. While he tries to convince Neal to join him, there is an explosion inside the warehouse. Adler says one of the wires must have been tripped. When they open the door, another explosion blows Neal, Adler and his guards to the ground. Peter and his team see this explosion from far away and rush to the scene. With the guards knocked out, Neal convinces Adler the art is destroyed and pulls him away from the burning door. Adler pulls a gun on Neal, convinced he is to blame. Adler says "you won't get away with this. Good-bye, Neal" just Peter shoots him from behind. Peter asks about Adler's last words. Neal says he doesn't know what he was talking about. Peter looks down at a charred picture and rushes to Neal, convinced he has somehow stolen the art. Neal says he's never lied to him. Peter continues that he doesn't believe him."Then prove it," Neal says. "Neal arrives home to find an address and key sitting on his table, along with the typed message "You'll thank me." Neal walks into a warehouse, surrounded by all Nazi art from the U-Boat. After standing in the middle of the treasure looking almost confused, a smile eventually spreads over Neal's face.

Open with Neal (Matthew Bomer)...
more
Open with Neal (Matthew Bomer) touching base with Mozzie (Willie Garson) who is working on the fractal.Neal meets a man who calls himself Ford (Billy Dee Williams). He is friends with June (Diahann Carroll). She's given him things and this bothers Neal. Ford says he's an old friend of June's husband but doesn't elaborate.Neal goes to Diana (Marsha Thomason) for help fingerprinting a coin Ford tossed him.The coin comes back with the fingerprint of a murder suspect and career criminal named Jonas Ganz. The only problem is the man in the file is not Ford.It turns out Ford was a real estate crook and roommate of Ganz' in the joint. 20 years earlier, Ford did time with June's husband for running an illegal casino on the floor of June's house where Neal now lives.Neal finds June in his room looking through some old pictures. She says Ford had been asking about a suit her husband wore in one of them. When she leaves, Neal finds the suit and grabs a receipt out of a pocket. Ford knocks on his door and tells Neal he hopes he would be understanding of an ex-con. He says he ran several poker games in the room Neal lives in while also being a crooked dealer. June comes up and they ask Neal to dinner. She leaves. Ford says he's looking for a second chance.Mozzie tells Neal he thinks Ford is trying to scam June and agrees to hang around the house. Peter (Tim DeKay) calls with word Ganz is putting together a crew for a new heist. Peter wants to question Ford, but Neal thinks the better way to play it for him and Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) to join him at dinner.Peter is at dinner under the pretense of being a former criminal partner of Neal's. After dinner, Neal leaves to answer a call from Mozzie. Word on the street is Ford is well-respected and smooth. Mozzie has enhanced the receipt. It is for one of June's coffee tables and it has had some custom work done. While Neal's gone, they start looking through photo albums. Upstairs, Neal opens a secret compartment in the table and finds what looks like plates for making counterfeit $100 bills. Neal brings Peter up to see it, but they are already gone. They walk outside and learn Ford is gone as well.Neal and Peter discuss that Ford would need to steal paper in order to make the bills. While wondering if that might be what Ganz' crew was going to d,o Diana tells them Ford was grabbed outside Ganz' place.Ford telsl Neal and Peter that he told Ganz about the plate while they were inside in exchange for protection. June's husband stole the plate from Ford in order to protect him for getting in trouble. Ford said all he was doing was giving the plate to Ganz so he wouldn't go near June looking for it. He has told Ganz what he'll need to print the bills. Ford scrapes his fingertips every morning to remove prints.Peter doesn't trust Ford. Neal isn't sure. Peter wants to put Neal and Ford undercover.Under the pretense of Neal being a replacement forger, he and Ford meet with Ganz. All goes well (Neal is asked to pick the fake among some IDs) until Ford makes a comment which reveals he knows more than he should about Ganz' last forger. Guns come out. Peter's team prepares to move in. Neal quickly covers. Ganz says Neal will be handling the job without Ford.Peter and Neal think Ganz' next move will be getting paper. Using the name from one of the fake IDs, they locate a likely spot where Ganz will look to steal the paper.Mozzie and Neal doubt Ford will be able to resist the temptation of a last big score.Cut to Diana telling Peter that Ganz and Ford are off the grid. Peter hears the paper they believe will be stolen is in transit. We see Ganz show up at Neal's place and grab him.Ganz (without Ford) wants Neal to ID which paper they should take off the truck. They pull over the truck and Neal takes the paper.Ganz and Neal show up at the counterfeiting location and we see Ford waiting for them. He's been in on everything from the beginning. Neal starts making money for them.Peter asks Mozzie for help finding Ford. Peter remembers there was a photo album Ford seemed nervous about during dinner. They spot a likely location.Cut to a police car showing up outside the counterfeiting spot. A nervous Ganz leaves and Ford reveals the cop was there for a cat-in-tree call and this was Ford's way of getting rid of Ganz. He has given Ganz a case without the plates. Forging Bonds
Open with Peter pouring old files...
more
Open with Peter pouring old files related to Ponzi scheme crook Vincent Adler. He goes to see Neal with a bag of booze and tells him that he wants to get Adler. Since Neal claims Adler "made me who I am today," Peter wants to pick his brain and offers him one evening of complete immunity for any crimes he may tell in the process of providing background. Neal shows him the fractal Mozzie built and says the first time he saw one was in Adler's office. The flashbacks begin with the story of how Neal and Mozzie met. Mozzie was running a sidewalk three card Monty scam that Neal out-foxed to the tune of $500. Mozzie hunts him down and wants to join forces.Mozzie suggests a long-con, the "Everest of swindles."This leads to Peter recalling the first time Neal's name came across his desk. Neal had been forging bonds and Peter gave this new case the nickname: "James Bonds."Peter told Elizabeth at the time the quality of Neal's forgery indicated a high level of talent.Neal and Mozzie target Adler, who had just made $150 million the previous year managing a hedge fund. Adler keeps a significant amount of his profit in an offshore account and only he knows the account number. To get in contact with Adler Neal sells a few more bonds to afford an expensive dinner. After getting cash for his bonds Neal runs into an unsuspecting Peter who was outside the bank asking questions.Neal picks the alias Nick Halden for the con. He introduces himself to Adler with a fake bottle of expensive wine and some insight into finance. After telling him of his passion for art, Adler introduces Neal to his assistant, Kate. The two hit it off immediately and he tells her he's there to cozy up to her boss and find more work.At dinner Neal gives Adler some inside info he and Mozzie found through some spying that ends up helping his business. Adler hires him a few weeks later. Neal had a knack for spotting Adler's enemies.Kate had a boyfriend at the time so they hadn't yet gotten together romantically, though he makes her aware he's interested. She tells him that her boyfriend asked her to move to Chicago with him and she's leaving in a month. At this point Neal is given an assignment to investigate someone looking into Adler's recent merger acquisitions. Around this time he first sees one of the fractals in Adler's office. The person looking into Adler's acquisitions turns out to be Alex. Neal tricks her into meeting with Adler who threatens her but gives her a second chance and lets her leave. Adler gives him a huge bonus which Neal promptly invests back into the fund, not realizing at the time it was a scam.Neal and Alex become lovers and she tells him about the music box, which she thinks Adler has information about. She tells him she thinks it is located in Denmark and will send him a sign (origami flower) if she needs help getting it. Alex disappears soon after. We forward to the day Kate leaves for Chicago. Neal is on the phone with Mozzie, who is pushing him to get the password from Adler. Kate arrives at his door and tells him she isn't going because she wants to be with him. With just days before Adler is to make his annual deposit Neal seems conflicted about continuing with the con. Mozzie reminds him that nobody even knows his real name and say he's heard Peter has been showing a sketch of him around town.Adler buys Neal an expensive custom-made suit and the two discuss the future. Adler mentions the relationship with Kate and it looks for a second as if Neal is going to come clean. But he spots a newspaper on Adler's desk that has the sketch of him. He tells him he needs to investigate an irregularity in his offshore account and Adler gives him a password. Neal manages to slip a hat over the newspaper.Neal almost tells Kate who he really is but stops short.Neal lies to Mozzie and says he didn't get the password. He tells Mozzie he's in love with Kate and Mozzie thinks they should shut the operation down.Neal and Kate watch a news report with words that Adler has skipped town and the entire firm was a scam.We see the formation of the white collar taskforce, which begins with Jones lobbying to be included. The password Adler had given him was an anagram for "nice try Neal" and there was only $1 left in it when Neal checked.Kate is upset that they have been left with nothing. He says they can get it all back and tells her that his real name is not Nick. Neal, Kate and Mozzie start to work as a team of criminals.Neal tells Kate that Peter has been asking around some of his forgeries. He thinks they should leave the country for a while. She sees that Alex has sent the flower and is upset he wants to go to Europe to go after the music box. He ends up going to look for the box without her but doesn't find it, barely ends up escaping uninjured. He gets back and finds that Kate is gone and Neal starts pulling off bigger cons in part to get her attention. We see Peter's team closing in on Neal. Diana suggests using his girlfriend and Peter realizes that Kate has been hiding from Neal.Mozzie tells Neal he's received news about Kate, but he doesn't trust the source. Mozzie thinks it's a trap but gives Neal takes the address anyway.Neal goes to see Kate at a storage facility. After she says she loves him the FBI burst through the door and arrest Neal. Neal promptly shakes Peter's hand, thankful that he helped him find Kate. It seems as if he knew there was a trap but came anyway.Back in present day Neal tells Peter he doesn't think there is any trail for Adler. Peter thinks the key is the fractal. Alex has been by recently and they've discovered the fractal is a frequency for an emergency beacon. The idea is if they build a real fractal and hook it up to a radio it will lead them to a boat or plane that disappeared 70 years earlier. Since it's worth it to Adle, Peter wants to do it.

Burke's Seven
Live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel......
more
Live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel... host Ricky Gervais takes the stage. His beer (presumably Fosters) is already waiting for him. The over-under on the amount of time it takes him to make a Charlie Sheen joke is 30 seconds."It's going to be a night of partying and heavy-drinking," Gervais says by way of welcome. "Or as Charlie Sheen calls it: 'breakfast.'"The under wins.On to a "Tourist" joke. He quashes the rumor that the only reason it was nominated was so the HFPA could hang out with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. "They also accepted bribes," he says.He gets bleeped for "for Christ's sake."He mentions "I Love You Phillip Morris" wasn't nominated. "Two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay, so the complete opposite of some famous Scientologists," he zings. As the guests in the room look around and wince, Gervais assures them the hypothetical actors in question aren't in the room.
"My lawyers helped me with the wording of that joke."There's a Hugh Hefner is old joke, and some unfortunate pantomime. He senses light laughter and gets right to presenting.Scarlett Johansson is up first to give out best support actor in a movie, to Christian Bale for "The Fighter." Hopefully no one steps in his line of sight as he makes it to the podium, you know how he hates that.Bale acknowledges he didn't used to know who the HFPA was. "And now I know who you are and I suddenly realize how wise and spectacularly perceptive you guys are," he jokes. He gets played off the stage and the mike cuts out as he's trying to acknowledge Robert De Niro.LL Cool J and Julie Bowen are out next for best actress in a drama TV series, which goes to Katey Sagal for "Sons of Anarchy."She thanks her costars and FX execs and her manager of 30 years. She gets cut off just as she's thanking the show's exec producer, and her husband, Kurt Sutter.Julianne Moore and Kevin Spacey acknowledge Miss Golden Globe, Joe Mantenga's daughter, Gia. They present mini-series or TV movie, to "Carlos".The people who assigned the seats are batting o-fer on winners, as people keep having to make the long trek from their seats in Siberia in the back of the auditorium.Whoever is accepting for "Carlos" gets played off as well, but seems to think the music is just mood and not a cue to shut up.Ricky Gervais waits as the whole crew try to make their way off the stage. He introduces the next presenter as the star of Hudson Hawk, Hart's War and Mercury Rising and as Ashton Kutcher's dad: Bruce Willis. He's there to introduce comedy nominee "RED."Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester present next, but nobody hears what they're saying because Meester's dress has a slit that goes higher than the voice of the winner: Chris Colfer from "Glee."He's barely putting words together as he gets on stage and thanks the show creator Ryan Murphy, his "fairy godfather."He dedicates the win to his costars, "but most importantly to all the amazing kids that watch our show and the kids that our show celebrates and are constantly told 'no' by people because of who they are....well, screw that, kids."Next up is Michelle Pfeiffer to present best picture nominee "Alice in Wonderland."Phillip Burke, the president of the HFPA, comes out and congratulates everyone on their congratulating.Milla Jovovich and Kevin Bacon present best actor in a TV drama to Steve Buscemi for "Boardwalk Empire."He pulls out his notes and promises to talk fast "before that sad music comes on."
He thanks HBO and his costars and his family. On to best TV series drama, which goes to "Boardwalk Empire."
Terrence Winter opens with "holy effing crap."Mark Wahlberg takes the stage. Fun fact: he's an exec producer on the show. Winter wraps up: "To my family and friends back in Brooklyn: I can't believe I'm sitting at a table with Al Pacino either."Andrew Garfield presents "The Social Network" but gets totally tangled on the word "inspiringly" because, well, it's not a word.Alec Baldwin and Jennifer Lopez are next and introduce best original song after he awkwardly talks about her dress and makes a "Ski Party" joke. Uh, sure."You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" from "Burlesque" wins and Diane Warren and thanks Cher for being "the eternal bada--- you always are."Next is best original score, which even Alec Baldwin seems bored by. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross win for "The Social Network."Trent Reznor thanks the people on the movie and doesn't look the least bit like a hard core rocker with his reasonable length hair and tux.And then, it's time for Justin Bieber and Hailee Steinfeld, the girl from "True Grit" (yes, she's taller than him). They introduce best animated movie. The winner is "Toy Story 3". (Cut to Tom Hanks and, inexplicably, Jennifer Love Hewitt.)The director Lee Unkrich accepts, acknowledging the presenters and asking if they were even born when the first one came out.Gervais is on to drinking wine introduces the next star as from Ironman, then wonders if it's a porn title. He continues with "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" and "Bowfinger" to make his point, then says he's also from Betty Ford and the Los Angeles county jail.Robert Downey Jr. comes out and not only takes the jab in stride, but gamely jabs back."Aside from the fact that it's been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister overtones, I'd say the vibe of the show is pretty good so far," he says.He moves on to his intro."I don't think an actress can say she's done her best work... until she's slept with me, Julianne." Cut to Julianne Moore. Then Anne Hathaway, Annette Bening, Emma Stone and Angelina Jolie, the nominees for best actress in a comedy.Downey continues, saying that somehow the women did their best work without him."I guess I'm just saying, if I could, I'd give it to all five of you," he wraps up, pointedly. Maybe he'll want to host next year.Annette Bening wins for "The Kids are All Right" and the camera immediately cuts to Jane Lynch, who recently married her girlfriend.Bening thanks Julianne Moore, her costar, for asking her to make the movie. She thanks the 1962 Golden Globe winner for "Most Promising Actor," her husband Warren Beatty.Ricky Gervais is back out, saying the next presenter has been in ten of the top grossing movies of all time.
"He has played a boxer...and Rambo."Sylvester Stallone presents "The Fighter".Geoffrey Rush and Tilda Swinton are next presenting best actor for mini-series or TV movie. Al Pacino wins for "You Don't Know Jack."Al Pacino and his four-inch high brown hair take the stage and he rhapsodizes about the joy of playing a real person. He appears to be about half the size of Tilda Swinton, even with the hair. The music does not play him off. You don't play Al Pacino off. Then for actress in a mini-series or TV movie. We learn why Jennifer Love Hewitt is there: she's nominated for the Lifetime movie "The Client List."But she loses to Claire Danes for "Temple Grandin."Next is Zac Efron to introduce "The Kids Are Alright."Ricky Gervais comes out next, introducing the next actor as one he cast in his show, "he's now leaving that show and killing a cash cow for both of us... please welcome the ungrateful Steve Carrell."He and Tina Fey introduce the nominees for best screenplay. "Screenplays we could have written, if we had time," Fey says. That one about the rock climber that, Carrell says, he would have given his right arm to write. Har.Aaron Sorkin wins for "The Social Network."
He says the people at Sony believe "people who watch movies are at least as smart as the people who make them."The table applauds Scott Rudin as the "best living producer."He commends David Fincher for making scenes of typing look like bank robberies.Next is supporting actress for TV. Jane Lynch wins, she hugs Sofia Vergara almost immediately."I am nothing if not falsely humble," she says, and acknowledges "Glee" writer Ian Brennan for writing Sue's "deranged" lines.More Ricky, who introduces the next category as one "no one in America cares about." Foreign films!"In a Better World" from Denmark wins. Smugly check that off on your Golden Globe ballot if you guessed it right.Helen Mirren is up next to introduce "The King's Speech."Blair Underwood and Vanessa Williams presents best actress in a TV series, which goes to Laura Linney from "The Big C." She's not there to accept.Jane Fonda introduces "Burlesque."Next, best actor for TV. Kaley Cuoco (and her impossibly long hair extensions) announce her costar Jim Parsons as the winner. He thanks "my writers" then catches himself, saying "the writers - 'my writers,' how crass."Jeremy Irons introduces the nominees for best supporting actress in a movie. As they cut to Helena Bonham Carter we see she's wearing a tumbleweed on her head. That's some hairdo.Melissa Leo wins for "The Fighter" and thanks anyone she can think of.Matt Damon is up to present the Cecil B. Moore award to Robert De Niro, who he says he hadn't heard of until about five years ago when he was in "The Good Shepherd."He quotes from "The Godfather" - doing the Fredo part. And then "GoodFellas" - the Joe Pesci lines."And who could forget 'Taxi Driver' where he was literally unrecognizable as a blonde 13 year old hooker?" Damon jokes, before a montage of De Niro - including "Analyze That."Then Bobby D takes the stage and the crowd stands and applauds - and he lets them."Thank you, Matt - and I loved you in 'The Fighter'," he says.To the HFPA: "I was very gratified when you made the announcement two months ago - well before you had a chance to review 'Little Fockers,'" he says.He says some of his movies were missing from the montage, but the punchline is censored. He says he's releasing some of his movies on DVD for people who may have missed them "I'll be selling them in the lobby right after I pose for more pictures with the remaining members of the Hollywood Foreign Press."He gets another standing O when he leaves. Then it's Megan Fox to introduce "The Tourist."Annette Bening introduces best director. David Fincher wins for "The Social Network".He reads his acceptance speech, thanking the crew "without whom I'd just be a bitter old man with a lot of opinions."Jimmy Fallon and January Jones present best TV comedy to "Glee." We hear their rendition of Journey for the third time.Ryan Murphy thanks people as the entire cast and crew takes the stage. His acceptance speech takes less time than their entrance.Alicia Keys introduces "The Black Swan".Next, Halle Berry introduces best actor in a comedy, in which Johnny Depp is nominated twice. Paul Giamatti wins for "Barney's Version.""I'm a little jacked up because I ate five boxes of the free Godiva chocolates," he says.
He thanks his three movie wives, and says he got to "smoke and drink and" something that gets censored.Joseph Gordon Levitt gets up and quotes Betty Davis in introducing "Inception."Jeff Bridges strides on stage next and introduces the nominees for best actress in a drama. The winner is Natalie Portman, who pregnantly takes the stage and thanks her grandmother in Cincinnati and parents, who are in the audience. She mentions her fiance Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed the movie and had a line, saying he didn't want to sleep with Natalie's character."He's the best actor, it's not true! He totally wants to sleep with me," she says.Ricky Gervais introduces the next two presenters as a man whose movies have made $3.5 billion and he's won two Academy Awards and three Golden Globes... and Tim Allen. He and Tom Hanks introduce the nominees for best comedy."We remember when Ricky Gervais was a slightly chubby, kind comedian," Tom Hanks says.
"Neither of which he is now," concludes Allen. The winner is "The Kids Are Alright".Sandra Bullock introduces the nominees for best actor in a drama. Colin Firth wins for "The King's Speech".He thanks the HFPA for the mid-life reassurance. "Right now this is all that stands between me and a Harley Davidson."He calls director Tom Hooper and his costar Geoffrey Rush the two other sides of his "man love triangle."Michael Douglas gets a standing ovation as he comes out to announce the final award of the evening. "There's just gotta be an easier way to get a standing ovation," he says.Onto the nominees for best picture (drama). "The Social Network" wins. (Insert status update joke here.)Producer Scott Rudin accepts. Kevin Spacey is among the crowd on the stage, as a producer.
He thanks Mark Zuckerberg for allowing them to tell a story about social networking through his life.Ricky Gervais comes out to say good night. "Thanks everyone in the room for being good sports," he says, even though they weren't.Finally: "Thank you to God - for making me an atheist."
