Walt gets into a snow-covered car in...
more
Walt gets into a snow-covered car in New Hampshire. He sees police lights nearby, but is able to escape when he finds keys left inside.
We see Walt stop for gas someplace in a much warmer climate. He pops the trunk and we see he seems to have all his money and medication. He goes to the pay phone and places a call to someone on Elliot and Gretchen's staff, pretending to be with the New York Times. He's able to get their schedule and home address.
Gretchen and Elliot arrive home. Walt is waiting for them just outside and follows them in as they make small-talk. Walt tells them he's there to give them something. They help him bring approximately $9 million in cash into the living room. He tells them that after he's gone they are going to create a trust for his children using that money. Walt thinks it will be believable since they will appear to be benefactors looking after the innocent victims of their former colleague. Elliot quickly tells Walt what he wants to hear, saying they will honor his request. At this point Walt makes a gesture and two infrared beams come in through the window and point at Elliot and Gretchen's chest. Walt says he used $200,000 to pay a pair of assassins. If they do not create the trust they will be killed.
Walt gets in and picks up Badger and Skinny Pete, who had been using laser penlights to create the assassin effect. He asks about the blue meth that is now on the streets and the two of them seem surprised Walt wasn't the one responsible. Walt realizes Jesse is cooking.
We see Jesse working on a wooden box in a studio of some kind. It appears to be a daydream, as he is still chained up cooking meth for Jack & Co.
We flash to the scenes we've already seen of Walt getting his weapon at the diner and returning to his home to retrieve the ricin. In the living room he has a flashback from the 1st season, in which Hank suggests Walt joins him on a drug bust.
Lydia meets with Todd at the coffee shop. Walt shows up and pulls up a chair. He is there because this is the time and location of the meeting Lydia used to have with him. He says he knows that Todd must be almost out of Methylamine and wants to sell them a new meth-cooking recipe without using Methylamine for $1 million. He says he's gone broke staying ahead of the police. Lydia says she thinks Jack should hear his offer and Walt says he'll be up there later that night. Lydia agrees but as soon as Walt leaves she tells Todd they should take him out. We see Walt in the desert somewhere working on an automatic firing mechanism for a gun. It is attached to one of the buttons on his car's key chain.
Marie calls Skyler and says that Walt is back in town. She tells her that his car has been spotted and the neighbor to whom he said hello while retrieving the ricin reported the incident. Marie says that the police are watching her, Skyler and Walter Jr. After they hang up we see that Walt is in Skyler's kitchen with her. He gives her the lottery ticket with the GPS coordinates and say she will find Hank and Gomez's bodies buried there. He thinks she should be able to use this information to bargain with the prosecutor. Walt admits to Skyler that he did everything "for me. I liked it. I was good at it. And I was... alive." Walt asks to see Holly one last time, then watches from afar as Walter Jr. comes home from school.
Walt pulls up to Jack's compound. Kenny gets in the car and leads him to clubhouse. Walt doesn't park the car in exactly the way Todd instructs. Walt is frisked and his wallet and keys taken. Inside Jack quickly orders that Walt be taken out back and killed. On his way out Walt references Jack partnering with Jesse, who he was supposed to have killed. This bothers Jack and he sends for Jesse, promising that after Walt sees Jesse he'll kill Walt himself. As Jesse is brought into the room in shackles Walt manages to grab his keys from the pool table he's standing in front of. He tackles Jesse, then pushes one of the buttons. The gun begins firing from inside the car and it kills everybody in the room other than Walt, Jesse, Todd and Jack. Jesse chokes Todd with his shackles and Walt kills a wounded Jack while Jack offers to give Walt his money back that was taken. Walt then gives Jesse the gun he's holding and tells him to finish him off. Jesse sees that Walt has been hit in the stomach and tells Walt to do it himself.
Walt answers Todd's phone - it's Lydia. Walt asks if she's feeling flu-like and informs her that he added the ricin to her Stevia when they last met in the cafe.
Jesse drives through the compound gate and leaves. Walt walks over to Jesse's cooking operation and looks around. He places his hand on one of the tanks as police arrive in the background. He falls to the ground, dead of his gunshot wound as police arrive with guns drawn.

Open with the minivan of Saul's...
more
Open with the minivan of Saul's vacuum-cleaner-disappear-you guy arriving at an actual vacuum cleaner store. Saul gets out. The guy, Ed, tells Saul he'll have to stay there for a few days until he can make the final arrangement for Saul's new life in Nebraska. He'll have a roommate, as Walt is still there waiting his new identity. Ed turns on a camera and we see a furious Walt pacing and knocking things over.
We see two agents driving a silent Marie to her home. When they arrive they find it has been broken into.
Cut to Jack and his gang watching Jesse's weepy confession tape. Kenny forwards to the point where Jesse rats out Todd for shooting Drew Sharp. Jack grabs his gun and heads over to kill Jesse. Todd tries to talk him out of it, which Jack's interprets to meaning Todd has a thing for Lydia.
In his cell Jesse takes apart the paperclip holding the picture of Andrea and Brock and starts to work on his shackles.
Downstairs at Ed's Walt starts to talk to Saul about his plan to kill Jack and his gang. He wants Saul to help him find new hitmen. Saul suggests that in his absence the feds are going to target Skyler and there will be no way for him to get any of his money. He suggests Walt turn himself in to take the heat off his family. Walt says he isn't "through" until he kills Jack and gets his money back. Ed pops in and says that he's ready to disappear Saul, but Walt will have to wait a few days on transportation. Walt says that Saul is coming with him and Ed gives them a few minutes to talk. Saul tells Walt "it's over." Walt tries to get tough with Saul but collapses in a coughing fit as Saul grabs his stuff.
We see a dazed Skyler listen to prosecutors. They want her to give them something that will help them locate Walt, but she says she knows nothing.
With cops watching the White home, Todd and two other guys manage to sneak into Holly's room with masks covering their faces. Todd asks if Skyler has said anything about Lydia, whom she met at the car wash. Skyler says she has not and Todd promises to return if that changes.
Todd meets Lydia at the coffee shop. She isn't thrilled a woman who has seen her face has been allowed to live and says their business dealings are over because of the risk. Todd says he has 50 pounds ready to go, but she isn't interested until he says it's 92 percent pure and blue. He tells her he's working with Jesse. Todd says their relationship is "mutually good" and she seems intrigued.
Ed brings Walt to his new residence, a small home on several acres in a remote part of New Hampshire. The home is as Spartan as they come, with only the bare essentials for Walt to survive. Ed will return in a month to bring Walt more supplies. When Walt references his work, Ed says he is the subject of a national manhunt and if he leaves will be found. Ed tells him the closest town is eight miles away, but if he finds out Walt has left his property he'll never return. After Ed leaves Walt puts on his Heisenberg hat and grabs cash from his barrel and walks to the entrance. He stares at the long, snow-covered road and says "tomorrow."
Jesse has managed to remove his cuffs and is attempting to pile things in his underground cell high enough to reach the bars above. Todd shows up with ice cream and Jesse is able to re-cuff himself in time. Jesse convinces Todd to take off the blanket so he can see the stars. After Todd leaves Jesse is able to get to the bars and unlock the door. He escapes the cell but is caught trying to scale a fence on the perimeter. He yells that they should just kill him because there is no chance he'll continue to help them.
Cut to Todd arriving at Andrea's place. He says he's a friend of Jesse's and says Jesse is in the SUV out front. We see a bloodied Jesse is in the vehicle banging his head against the window. With Andrea's attention on the SUV, Todd shoots her in the back of the head in full view of Jesse. Jessie is devastated. Todd gets back in the SUV and they remind Jesse that they can still kill Brock.
Fast-forward several months: Ed shows up with the latest package. He tells Walt that Skyler is struggling with an inexperienced attorney and his home has been fenced-in by the bank to stop kids from breaking in. Ed has brought another round of chemo, which he prepared to use through YouTube videos. Walt pays Ed $10,000 to stay an extra hour. During that time he tells Ed that eventually he'll return to find Walt's body and wonders if he'd make sure the rest of his money got to his family. Ed responds "If I said 'yes,' would you believe me?"
That night we see that Walt has gotten so frail his wedding ring no longer stays on his finger. He looks over at the boxes of Ensure Ed brought him and has an idea. He fills one with cash, wraps it with brown paper and leaves his property.
Walter Jr. is pulled out of class because of an urgent call from Marie. Walt has paid a woman at the town bar to make the call and grabs the phone when Walter Jr. gets on the line. He attempts to explain that he never intended for things to happen the way they did. He begins to talk about sending $100,000 via Walter Jr.'s friend Louis. After a few seconds Walter Jr. goes off on his father, yelling that he killed Hank and put Skyler in a bad position. Walter Jr. calls him names, then tells him to "just die already" and hangs up. Walt's next call is to the DEA. He asks for the person in charge of the Walter White case, says he is Walter White and leaves the phone off the hook. Walt grabs a seat at the bar and orders a drink. The bartender passes by Charlie Rose interviewing Gretchen and Elliott from Gray Matter. They have recently donated millions to help drug prevention in New Mexico and Rose asks if this is damage control due to their tie to the now infamous Walt. Both Elliott and Gretchen completely minimize and role Walt had in Gray Matter, telling Rose Walt did little more than come up with the name. Walt looks furious as he watches this.
Two Sheriff's department vehicles pull up at the bar. They come inside with guns drawn. Walt is nowhere to be found.

Todd shows Lydia his first batch of...
more
Todd shows Lydia his first batch of meth as Jack and Kenny look on. The purity is 76 percent, but Lydia isn't happy that the product is not blue. Jack and Kenny don't seem to share her concern. Later Todd takes Lydia aside and apologizes, saying he thinks he let the product get too hot. He thinks he can improve the color and quality, and makes an immature move on her which she deftly fends off. At this point Todd gets a call from Walt telling him that he wants his uncle to take out Jesse.
Hank meets with Gomez, who wants them to book Jesse. Hank tells him Jesse has an idea for getting Walt. Jesse tells the guys that he knows somebody who might know where Walt keeps his cash.
Hank returns to his place where Gomez tells him they have somebody in a safe house. Hank reaches in to a bag and pulls out a pile of bloody meat he got at the grocery store. He dumps it on the floor and tells Jesse "you're up."
Hank and Gomez go to the safe house where they are keeping Huell. Hank tells him that he knows he won't spill the beans on Walt, but says he's there because his life is in danger. Hank says Saul gave up Huell to Walt and that he'll be after him soon. He shows Huell a cell phone picture that appears to be a dead Jesse with his brains blown out. The previously stoic Huell freaks out and tells Hank about collecting the money for Walt. He tells him where he got the barrels, how many barrels he got and where he and Kuby got the rental truck.
Walt meets with Jack and Todd about taking care of Jesse. They say the only way they'll kill Jesse is if Walt agrees to cook for them one more time. Walt reluctantly agrees. Walt doesn't know where Jesse is, but has an idea.
Walt goes to see Andrea and Brock. He tells her that he's worried about Jesse. He thinks Jesse is using again and can't seem to track him down. Andrea leaves Jesse a voicemail telling him she's with Walt and that he should call her. Walt leaves and we see that Kenny is watching the house.
Hank intercepts the voicemail from Andrea, muttering "nice try" to himself. Hank tells Gomez that the rental place no longer places GPS chips in their vehicles. Gomez thinks they might be at a dead-end, but Hank reminds him that Walt doesn't know the trucks don't have GPS.
Saul shows up at the car wash and tells Walt that Huell is missing. He's very concerned at what this might mean and is wearing a bullet proof vest.
Walt gets a call from Jesse. He claims to have used the rental vehicle's GPS and gotten to his money. He sends Walt a pic that looks like one of the barrels. Walt in a major panic jumps in his car and races to the stash site in the desert. Jesse says he's going to burn $10,000 for every minute Walt's not there and will burn it all if Walt hangs up to try and get back-up.
Walt arrives at the location where he buried the money. Jesse is no longer on the other end of the line and he doesn't see anybody. Walt realizes he's been had and quickly takes the battery out of his phone to disable the tracking signal. He sees a car approaching and calls Jack. He says he's in danger and gives Jack the coordinates. Jack and his men immediately start grabbing weapons and loading up. While on the phone Walt sees that Hank and Gomez are with Jesse and calls off the back-up. Hank yells for Walt to show himself.
After a few minutes Walt walks out and gives himself up. Hank puts him in cuffs and reads him his rights. Walt calls Jessie a coward and Jessie spits at Walt. Walt then while handcuff pushes Jessie against the truck. Hank places Walt in Gomez's truck and tells Gomez he should ride with Jessie in Walt's car to keep them separate. The plan is for them to bring in a team and find the money. Hank calls Marie to tell her that he has Walt under arrest. She is overjoyed and a little emotional. He assures the next few weeks will be tough but thinks they'll get through everything. Just then Hank sees two vehicles arrive at the scene. It is Jack, Kenny and Todd, along with several other well-armed men. Walt begins screaming for Jack's people to stop, but he's handcuffed in the back of Gomez's car and nobody can really hear him. The car stop and the men get out. They are all well-armed. Hank and Gomez pull their guns and scream that they are police. Jack asks them to prove it by showing a badge. All the while Walt continues to yell at Jack's people not to shoot. For several tense moments the two sides stand with weapons drawn. Jessie in Walt's car passenger seat looks ready to bail. At one point Jack and Kenny exchange glances and Kenny proceeds to open fire on the agents, followed immediately by the rest of his crew. Hank and Gomez return fire and a huge firefight ensues. Walt is forced to seek shelter on the floor of the vehicle.
The episode ends without anyone appearing to be hit despite the high volume of rounds being exchanged. Gomez is using a shotgun at too great a range, while Hank's blasting away with his handgun to no effect. The Meth-Nazi crew are just bad shots

Open with Walt looking nervously at...
more
Open with Walt looking nervously at Saul's car parked in front of his home. With his gun drawn he goes inside, finding the place empty. Inside the car he finds a CD with what appears to be drug residue.
While cleaning crews work to get rid of the gasoline, Walt tells Huell to stop by Walter Jr.'s school to make sure he's okay. Walt leaves a message on Jesse's cell phone, saying he wants to talk. Walt is adamant about keeping the same door locks, and is told that there is really no way to get rid of the gas smell in the living room. In response Walt pours gasoline on his clothes and in his car, throws Jesse's gas can in a neighbor's trash, but changes his mind and retrieves it, then waits for Skyler to return.
When Skyler gets back Walt tells her and Walter Jr. that there was a malfunction at the gas pump. The pump sprayed him with gas and he accidentally left his gas-covered clothes on the living room floor while he showered. Walter Jr. thinks the story is bunk, assuming his sick father passed out. Walt tells Skyler he's taking them to a hotel.
Walt jumps in the car with Saul and Kuby to get an update. There is no sign of Jesse. Saul suggests killing Jesse when they find him and Walt is adamant that is not an option.
Walt returns to the hotel to find a slightly drunken Skyler very aware that he was just meeting with Saul. Confronted with his deception he tells her about Jesse. She is also of the opinion Jesse should be "handled" given the risk he poses to their family.
We flash back to Jesse dumping the gas at Walt's place. Just before he can ignite the home Hank pops in the door with his gun drawn. Jesse tells him about Brock and Hank suggests there is another way to get Walt back. He takes him away just seconds before Walt pulls up.
We see Marie meeting with her therapist. She won't tell him specifics about what's going on in her life, but admits she's so mad at someone she's been researching different types of untraceable poisons.
Marie returns home to Hank having packed her bags. He wants her to leave for a day but she senses something is going on. He shows her a sleeping Jesse in a spare room. He says the only place he can keep Jesse is their home. When he promises Jesse being there is bad for Walt she supportive. Hank listens to a message Walt left for Jesse on his phone.
Late that night Walter Jr. finds his father sitting at the hotel's poolside doing some thinking. Walt tries to reassure him he's going to beat cancer again and Walter Jr. reaches out to tearfully hug him. After Walter Jr. leaves Walt grabs his phone and makes a call.
Jesse wakes up to find Hank and Gomez sitting in the living room. Hank is setting up a video camera. After a little bit of coaxing Jesse begins to tell his story. Afterwards Gomez and Hank think Jesse is telling the truth but there is no physical evidence to convict Walt. Hank plays Gomez and Jesse the voicemail where Walt tells Jesse he'll be waiting for him at a very public plaza the following afternoon. Jesse is fearful about what Walt is capable of but agrees to wear a wire when Hank explains there is really no other way. When Jesse goes to the bathroom Hank makes it clear to Gomez that he couldn't care less if Jesse is killed in the process of busting Walt.
Wearing a wire Jesse walks towards Walt, who is seated in on a bench in the middle of the square. Jesse spots a large bald man nearby and gets nervous. He walks over to a payphone and calls Walt, telling him "nice try." Jesse then gives Walt a head's up that he is coming for him, "where you really live." We see the bald man was not there with Walt.
An angry Hank picks Jesse up and demands to know what just happened. Jesse tells him there is a "better way" to get Walt.
Walt gets in his car and calls Todd. He says "I think I might have another job for your uncle."

more
Todd is outside a diner leaving a voice message on Walt's phone. He tells him that he had some issues with Declan and there has been a change in management which has been worked out. Inside the diner Todd eats with Jack and Kenny and incautiously tells them the story of the big train heist. Afterwards Jack confirms with Todd that he's ready to start cooking again. We see them drive into New Mexico.
Jesse is questioned by APD, then by Hank alone. Hank reveals that he knows Walt is "Heisenberg" and wants Jesse roll over on his partner. Jesse says essentially nothing until Saul arrives and clears the room. Saul is freaking out.
Saul calls Walt, who orders him to work his magic and get Jesse out. While Walt applies cover-up to the black eye had given him, he hears Walter Jr. asks for permission to go help Marie with a computer problem. Walt rushes to stop him and tells his son his cancer has returned.
Hank returns home and Marie asks him if he's told the DEA about Walt. He hasn't and she's worried what will happen if they find out before Hank has told them. He tells her the time is not yet right.
Walt places a camera in front of the bed. After Skyler asks if he's sure this is the right thing to do he begins giving a video statement of some kind.
Walt and Skyler meet Hank and Marie at a Mexican restaurant. Walt asks them to leave their children out of the situation, pleading that they've been through enough and they don't need to get dragged through the situation. When it's clear Hank isn't interested in anything short of Walt turning himself in, Walt and Skler calmly get up and leave. Before walking away Walt places a DVD in front of Hank.
Hank and Marie stand in the living room and watch the Walt's video on their TV. It is him confessing, but only to be a pawn in an enormous meth operation run by Hank. Walt say that Hank used his drug connections from work to start the operation and essentially sold Walt to Gus Fring to have him cook. He says Hank and Gus had a falling out which led to Gus having Hank shot, followed by Hank having Gus killed using a bomb he forced Walt to make. He says he gave Hank almost $200,000 to help with his therapy following the shoot out with the Mexican cousins. Walt references Hank "taking" their children and says that when he recently tried to quit Hank punched him in the face. The video ends and Hank tells Marie this is only a threat. He asks about the medical bills and Marie has to admit that she took money from Skyler, thinking it was proceeds from Walt's gambling. Hank tells her that connection is the final nail in his coffin.
Saul brings Jesse to the desert for a meeting with Walt. Jesse tells Walt he doesn't think Hank has much evidence and thinks it's likely he has yet to tell anybody else what he knows about Walt. Walt suggests that Jesse might be better off leaving the area and starting fresh with a brand new identity. This sets off Jesse. He thinks he's basically being given an ultimatum and Walt will have him killed if he doesn't leave. Jesse begins to cry. Walt walks over and holds Jesse, who falls apart in his arms.
Walt tells Skyler "It worked. We're fine."
Gomez is upset that Hank has been using his men to tail Jesse without explanation. Hank agrees to remove them.
Saul explains to Jesse how it works with the guy who will find him a new identity out-of-state. If Jesse agrees there is no turning back. He gives the go-ahead and the meeting is set for one hour. A nervous Jesse lights up a joint and a furious Saul tells him the guy won't take him if he's high. Jesse puts out the joint but won't give back the rest of his bag. Saul gets $125,000 in cash to pay his guy, as well as additional cash that Walt asked Saul to give to Jesse. Huell will be taking Jesse to the meet.
While waiting for the guy, Jesse reaches in his pocket for his weed. He realizes that Heull lifted it from his pocket and he suspects that Saul tampered with his cigarettes as well. Just as Saul's guy pulls up Jesse picks up the bag of money and walks away.
Jesse burst into Saul's office and begins hitting him. He accuses him of lifting his cigarettes so that Walt could use the ricin to poison Brock. Saul confesses to that part, but says he had no idea what Walt was up to at the time. Jesse leaves and Saul immediately calls Walt with a head's-up.
Walt races to the car wash, then casually finds an excuse to go into the soda machine where he has hidden a snub-nose revolver. He then tells Skyler that he forgot to pick up a prescription.
Jesse storms over to Walt's place, kicks in the front door and begins maniacally pouring gasoline everywhere.

more
Open with an old man finding some of the cash Jesse threw from his car. He walks across the street and sees Jesse's car in the middle of a playground with one of its turn signals on. On the seat is the bag of money. He turns and sees Jesse lying on a roundabout, spinning idly.
Walt walks out of Hank's garage and tries to get Skyler on the phone. When he can't, he realizes that she's talking to Hank. Walter races to the car wash but finds that Skyler has left.
Hank meets with Skyler at a diner. He's sympathetic and tells her he doesn't blame her for being forced into participating in Walt's schemes. During the conversation Hank tells Skyler about Walt's cancer being back. He then pulls out a tape recorder and says it's important she tell him exactly what Walt did. Skyler wonders if she ought to get a lawyer and Hank tells her that they need to get her story onto the record first. He says he has her best interest in mind, but Skyler isn't so sure since he's not advising her to seek legal counsel. When he suggests that she bring the kids to his house she demands to know if she's under arrest and leaves.
Kuby and Huell open up the storage locker with Walt's cash. Huell lies on top of the pile and eventually Kuby joins him.
Walt meets with Saul. Skyler calls but Saul advises him not to answer in case the call is tapped. Saul suggests killing Hank, but Walt is adamant that option is off the table. Huell and Kuby arrive at Saul's office with a truck filled with the cash. Walt gives Saul a bag of cash and heads to the dessert where he begins to dig.
Marie comes by to visit Skyler. The two talk about the extent of Skyler's knowledge of Walt's business and Skyler begins to cry. When Skyler has to admit she know about Walt's drug business before Hank was shot, Marie slaps her across the face and leaves the bedroom. Marie then tries to leave with Holly. Skyler demands she leave her child alone. Hank comes in and tells Marie to give Skyler back her baby. In the car Marie tells Hank "You have to get him."
Working into the night Walt manages to bury all of the money. He records the exact GPS coordinates where the money is buried. Walt returns home and literally collapses on the bathroom floor as Sklyer asks where he was. He wakes up four hours later and Skyler asks if his cancer is back. She asks "Is this it?" and Walt asks if that makes her happy. Walt says he'll give himself up if she promises to keep the money and pass it to their children. She isn't convinced Hank has a case yet and thinks it will be harder to keep the money if he turns himself in. Skyler suggests they keep quiet for now.
Lydia is brought blindfolded to see Declan's meth operation. She's brought to the underground lab and is critical of the conditions. She points out that Todd was able to make higher quality meth than what he's turning out, but Declan responds he wasn't able to work with him. Declan is told there is a problem and tells Lydia to stay put. Declan and his cook go up to the surface and Lydia sends a message on her phone. We then hear gunfire. The door opens and Todd tells Lydia it's safe to come out. She tells him she doesn't want to see anything so Todd walk her through the bodies of Declan and his crew while keeping her eyes shut.
Marie thinks Hank should take what he suspects about Walt to the DEA and have them help with his investigation. He says he can't, because the second he tells them his brother-in-law was a meth kingpin he'll lose his job. He has to come to them with a complete and be the one to put Walt away.
We see Hank go to the office. He sits at his desk and looks around. Gomez pops in Hank tells him he wants to setup a conference call with Ramey. Gomez then tells Hank about Jesse and the money.
Cut to Jesse being questioned by detectives. He's saying nothing. Hank drops by and asks the cops if he can spend a few minutes with Jesse. Hank walks into the room as the episode ends.

Blood Money
Open with teenagers skateboarding in...
more
Open with teenagers skateboarding in the dry pool of what appears to be an abandoned home. A car pulls up front and we see the property surrounded by fencing with warning signs. Walter gets out. He's got a full head of hair and shaggy beard. In the living room of the empty house we see the word "HEISENBERG" spray-painted on the wall. He walks down the hall and we realize this is the White home. He goes to the bedroom and gets the ricin pill from behind the switch plate. He walks back out front and spots a terrified neighbor unloading groceries. He says "Hello Carol" and she drops the bag she was holding to the ground.
In present day, a stunned Hank exits the bathroom holding the Walt Whitman book. He puts the book in a bag and looks out the window at Walter. He walks outside, tells Marie he isn't feeling great and says they need to leave.
On the ride home Hank can barely focus on the road as Marie talks about Europe. He starts having an attack of some kind and runs onto a person's lawn. He falls out of the car and Marie yells for the homeowner to call an ambulance.
Back from the ER Hank assures Marie there is not a need for him to see a doctor. He makes her promise not to tell Skyler. Hank gets out a folder and compares the handwriting from the Whitman book to something else Gale wrote. It looks like a match.
At the car wash Walter reminds Skyler that their "story" needs to come first. Along those lines he thinks they should buy an additional car wash, as it will take years to launder all their cash. Lydia arrives for a wash. She goes inside and complains that the quality of the meth she's gotten is only 68 percent. She wants him to come back for a few days and make things right. Walter tells her problems are none of his concern. Skyler walks in and notices that Lydia was there washing a rental car. Walter tells her that Lydia is a "former business associate" interested in him returning. Skyler follows Lydia outside and tells her to leave and never return.
The following morning Hank tells Marie he's not going into work. On her way out she sees two men delivering boxes. Hanks tells them to put them in the garage. They leave and Hank starts going through files related to everything related to the blue meth...Gus, Heisenberg, etc.
Skinny Pete and Badger get stoned at Jesse's place. Jesse grows tired of their inane Star Trek conversation and leaves.
Jesse brings his giant bags of money to Saul's office. He grows tired of waiting and lights up a joint. This gets him right in to see Saul. Jesse says each bag contains $2.5 million and he wants one to go to Mike's granddaughter and the other to Drew Sharp's parents. Saul seems uncomfortable with the whole thing but Jesse is adamant. Jesse leaves and then Saul calls Walter. Walter tells him to hang on to the money, adding "I'll handle it." Walter took the call while taking a course of chemotherapy.
Walter shows up at Jesse's door with the money and asks for an explanation. Jesse responds "It's like you said, it's blood money." Walter tells Jesse to stop focusing on the past. He tells Jesse that he's out of the drug business himself and says there's nothing for them to do but live good lives. A teary-eyed Jesse thinks Mike's granddaughter needs someone to look after him. Jesse thinks Mike is dead and thinks Walter knows it. Walter denies having anything to do with Mike's death and tells Jesse that he thinks 'Mike is fine'.
Walter excuses himself from dinner and rushes to the bathroom to vomit. He looks above the toilet and appears to notice that the Whitman book is missing. Later that night he's still searching their home for the book. He gets into bed and asks Skyler what is wrong with Hank. She tells him Hank hasn't been to work all week. Later that night Walter goes outside and checks the bottom of his car. He finds a tracking device.
A homeless man knocks on Jesse's window, waking him up. He asks if he can spare some change and Jesse offers him a stack of cash. The man eventually accepts and Jesse drives off. We next see Jesse driving through an impoverished neighborhood tossing money onto random lawns.
The two cops who dropped off the files ask Hank if Gomez should be worried. Hank assures them he's fine. As they leave Walter pulls into the driveway. Hank nervously clears some photos. Walter plays dumb and asks how Hank's feeling. He tells Hank to let him know if there's anything he can do and walks away. Walter stops, turns around and shows him the tracking device. He says it looks just like the one they used on Gus and asks if Hank knows anything about it. Hank closes the garage door behind Walter and then punches him in the face. He puts Walter up against the door and says "it was you!" and goes through all the things he's done to cover. Walter tells Hank his cancer is back. He tells Hank he's dying and that even if he was able to get a jury to believe that he's Heisenberg, he won't live long enough to see the inside of a prison. Hank tells him to bring Skyler and the kids to his house and they can talk. Walter says that will never happen and Hank responds that he has no idea who he is even speaking to. Walter says that if Hank doesn't know who he is, perhaps he should "tread lightly."

more
A teenage boy rides through the desert on an off-road bike. He stops when he spots a tarantula. He reaches into his jacket for a jar he clearly had prepared for the purpose and carefully places the spider into the jar and leaves on his bike. Walt stops by Hank's office and asks Gomez for a few minutes alone with Hank. Hank makes mention of Walt's new expensive watch. They talk about Skyler and how the kids are doing at Hank and Marie's place. Eventually Walt blurts out that Skyler doesn't love him anymore. He starts to cry and Hank becomes incredibly uncomfortable. So much so that he leaves the office to get them coffees. Once that happens Walt springs into action, placing some kind of device on Hank's computer and planting a bug in one of photoframes on his desk. Walt, Jesse and Mike bring Lydia to some kind of remote underground location. Mike tells her that she'd be dead if it were up to him, but her last chance involves calling Hank and reading from a prepared script. If she doesn't anything they don't like Mike will shoot her in the head. She calls Hank and tells him about the tracking device she found on the canister. He tells he to put the drum aside and do nothing. After the call, they listen to Hank ask Gomez about the tracking device. Clearly it didn't come from that office At this point they are set to kill her, though Jesse still doesn't like it. Just as Walt explains to Jesse the vote is 2-to-1 in favor of killing Lydia, they hear Hank call the Houston office. An agent there says his office was responsible for the tracking. Mike still wants to kill her, telling the guys about her putting a hit out on him. Lydia doesn't deny the accusation but tells them she knows where they can find an "ocean" of methylamine. Lydia tells Walt there is a regular train delivery of 24,000 gallons of methylamine that makes a trip from California to places like Texas and Oklahoma where the chemical will be used in the manufacture of pesticides. There is a three-mile "dead zone" in the trip where there is no access to cell phones. Mike thinks there is no way they can rob the train without killing the two men who operate the train. We see that Walter Jr. is miserable with Hank and Marie, hardly ever leaving his room. They show alot of affection towards Holly. Mike wants them to start making smaller batches using cold pills. He says no cooking is not an option and this leads to an argument between Mike and Walt about the nine men he's paying to keep quiet. Jesse wonders "What if we can rip off that train and nobody ever knows it got robbed." The guys go to the train tracks and measure a stretch. They find an open area, an arroyo beneath a small bridge and Jesse says "It's perfect." With help from a backhoe, the guys bury two enormous plastic containers underneath the ground next to that section of track. Todd comes by and helps fill one with water. Walt and Jesse explain to him the plan is to fill one drum with 1,000 gallons of methylamine, then replace the missing chemical with water. When the train is weighed in a few days there will be no difference. And when the product is eventually used, all that will happen is that the buyers will think China sent them a slightly weaker batch. Walter Jr. is locked in his room at home. Walt tells him he has no choice but to go to Hank and Marie's. After he's gone Skyler and Walt have yet another argument about the kids being in danger. She says she'll be whatever kind of partner he needs as long as the kids don't live with them at home. Lydia calls Mike and tells him which tanker will be holding the methylamine. Kuby then drives a large dump truck onto the tracks and opens up the hood. He flags down the train, which manages to stop just a few feet before hitting the truck. Kuby says he's having engine trouble. As soon as the train stops, Jesse and Todd spring into action. Todd climbs atop the tanker, removes bolts and inserts the water hose. Simultaneously Jesse gets underneath and connects a hose to the bottom. Kuby continues to stall, flipping a switch of some kind that renders the truck inoperable. After 300 gallons of methylamine are removed, Walt starts a generator and the water is pumped into the top. With 600 gallons out a man in a truck approaches unexpectedly. He offers to push Kuby's truck off the tracks and there really isn't much he can do to stall. Mike tells Walt to stop the operation, but with only 850 gallons of water replaced Walt seems to want to continue. Walt waits until all the measured water has been pumped, by which point the train is about to get under way. Todd and Jesse are able to finish up in the nick of time, with Todd having to jump off the moving train and Jesse having to lie underneath the train as it moves over top of him. But the plan worked. As the guys laugh and celebrate, Walt looks over and sees the spider-hunting kid watching them from his bike. He gives them a tentative wave. Todd waves back and approaches the youth. Just then Todd reaches into his belt and pulls out a gun. Jesse screams "No!" but Todd shoots the accidental intruder.

more
Alerted by Saul's faked 'phone call (per Walt's instruction) warning of Hank's danger, DEA agents pull up to Walt's place to take the family to Hank's for safe-keeping. But Walt tells Skyler that he's not going, since he's the real target. The plan is for her to tell everybody that he's going to take care of the car wash. Walt says some heavy stuff about needing to suffer the consequences for the choices he's made the past year. The frantic Skyler doesn't like it but eventually leaves him there. As the family packs up Walt calls Hank to tell him he won't be coming with Skyler and the kids but will be there as soon as he can. Hank doesn't seem to think there is much to this threat. Walt takes a long look at Skyler and the baby as they drive off.We see Walt sitting by the pool spinning his gun on the table.Walter Jr. is upset with Skyler, wondering how hard she tried to get Walt to come with them. Marie is upset with Hank for not having the DEA guys force Walt into the car. Hank mentions he think this is nothing to worry about and guesses it's related to his looking into Gus. Hank ends up guilting DEA agent Gomez into taking a driver over the lab.Gomez smooth-talks his way into letting the guy running the laundry above the lab give them permission to take a look around. An agent and a dog check the area while Gomez takes pictures.Underground we see Jesse turn off the machine. Tyrus has gotten word as to what is happening upstairs. Gus calls and wants to talk to Jesse. He tells him that what is happening is Walt's fault and tries to talk him into getting permission to kill Walt. Jesse doesn't budge and Gus tells him only that there will be an "appropriate response."Gomez and his guys leave without finding anything and Jesse resumes his cook. After finishing the cook Jesse calls Walt and hangs up when it goes to voicemail. He checks his voicemails. He has a half dozen, increasingly desperate, from Saul.Jesse goes to see Saul. He gets frisked before Saul lets him in. Saul gives him his share of the cash and tells him he's about to disappear for a while, until the heat dies down. He mentions that Gus threatened to kill Walt's family. This is news to Jesse. After Skyler hears from Hank that the sweep of the laundry yielded nothing she calls Walt. He isn't answering. Skyler goes outside and bums a smoke from one of the agents. At home Jesse gets a call. Something is wrong. At the hospital Andrea tells Jesse that Brock is really sick. Something like a flu that keeps getting worse. A nurse says they are taking Brock to the pediatric ICU.Jesse walks outside the hospital to have a smoke. He looks in his pack and notices the cigarette with the poison isn't there. He runs back inside. He grabs Andrea and tells her to tell the doctors that Brock has been poisoned with Ricin. There is a knock on Walt's door. It's Jesse and he's by himself. Walt tells him what happened with his family. He stands by a window and talks about wondering when Gus might come for him. Jesse picks up Walt's gun and points it at him. Jesse accuses Walt of poisoning Brock to get back at him for siding with Gus, to "break his heart" and he wants Walt to admit it. Walt assures him he had nothing to do with it. There is no reason for him to kill a child, he says. He asks if Brock could've gotten to the cigarette by himself, to which Jesse says he switched it into his new pack that morning. Jesse points out that only they knew about the Ricin. Jesse accuses him of having Saul's goon take the cigarettes while he was frisking him and having Saul find and poison Brock. Walt points out how much of a stretch that is. He then falls to the ground laughing (similar to how he did in "Crawl Space") at the realization that Gus is behind this. This is Gus' way of getting rid of Walt by tricking Jesse into thinking this was Walt's idea. He points out that only Gus has a record of killing children for his personal gain, that he could've had Tyrus easily lift the cigarette from his locker while he was at the lab, and that Jesse has become everything Gus wanted in a cook. Walt forces the barrel of the gun right onto his forehead, telling Jesse to shoot if he truly believes Walt did it. Jesse can't do it, realizing that the idea of Walt doing it was more farfetched that that of Gus doing it. He heads for the door, stating that he's going to kill Gus. Walt tells him it's suicide to go headfirst at him, but he wants to help.Jesse walks into the ICU and stares at Brock before being made to leave by the nurses. The next morning Tyrus wakes up Jesse who's spent the night in the waiting room outside the ICU to tell him it's time to cook. Jesse refuses, even going so far as making a scene to force Tyrus to leave him alone. Tyrus calls Gus to say they have a problem and Jesse sends a text.We see that Walt is hard at work making some sort of chemical explosive and a remote detonation device. It takes a couple presses before it works. Jesse's text says that he thinks he's gotten Gus' attention.Gus arrives at the hospital with a bodyguard. Gus meets with Jesse in the hospital chapel. He tells him to get back to the lab, but Jesse refuses to leave knowing the kid could die at any moment. Gus offers whatever services the hospital has, stating that he's a board member. Jesse tells Gus that he thinks Brock was poisoned. Gus relents, giving Jesse a week off.Gus and two bodyguards walk through the parking garage to his car. Walt is watching through binoculars from a building across the street. He has the detonator in his hand. For some reason Gus stops about 50 feet from the car, almost as if he senses something isn't right. He walks over the railing and looks across at the buildings. He doesn't appear to spot Walt but turns and walks in the opposite direction. A despondent Walt slumps over.

more
A makeshift hospital facility is inside an abandoned barn somewhere in Mexico. One of the doctors gets a call and they go running outside with a crash cart asJesse speeds towards them honking his horn. He opens the passenger seat where Mike sits, but the doctors go right to Gus in the back seat. Gus is given an injection and brought inside. While they work on Gus Jesse drags Mike into the room. Blood is pouring from one of Mike's pant legs. Jesse yells that Mike needs help. The lead doctor indicates Gus and says: "this man pays my salary."With Tyrus looking on Walt finishes a cook. He asks about the Mexican trip and tells Tyrus that if Jesse is out he will quit. Walt asks Tyrus about Hank wanting to visit Gus' processing center and wonders if he should be the one to take him there.Hank and Walt sit in a car near the chicken farm that is secretly Gus' processing center. Hank looks at the building through binoculars. Walt asks Hank what he's heard recently and he references a big "power play" in Mexico. Hank wants to know what happened to Walt's face. Walt says he's done explaining himself. With Mike now getting treatment the doctor shows Jesse that they were prepared to treat all three of them -- complete medical histories, type-specific blood on hand, etc. Gus seems okay and tells Jesse it's time to go. Mike will need to stay another week and Gus tells Jesse they will send for him.Gus and Jesse are going to walk six miles to a waiting car that will take them into Texas. As the begin Gus tells Jesse he has proven that he can run the lab by himself. When Jesse tells Gus he should pay off Walt rather than kill him, Gus says "you know that won't work." Jesse responds: "Then you've got a problem."Ted leaves Skyler a message on her machine. He says he can't do "the thing they've discussed.Skyler shows up at Ted's place. She's told him about Walt's gambling and says she wants him to help her out. Ted would like to pay her back and writes a check made out to Skyler. He says he feels uncomfortable paying off his debt with illicit gambling winnings. She points out that he was cooking his books and if he doesn't pay the government will come after both of them and will come after her business. Ted says that paying off his debt won't change his situation, almost implying that he needs more money from her. She rips up his check and demands he write another one to the IRS. She fights him but he doesn't seem to budge. In the car out front Skyler places a call to Saul.Gus pays Tio a visit. He shows him Don Eladio's necklace and reads off the list of cartel people he, Mike and Jesse killed in Mexico. That list that includes Tio's grandson Joaquin, the man Jesse shot during the escape. Jesse walks into the room and Gus points out that it was Jesse who killed him. Tio refuses to look at Gus.Walt picks up Hank. He asks him about the Mexican incident. Hank takes him to an "industrial laundry," which is owned by the same German conglomerate that owns Los Pollos Hermanos. Walt says it sounds "kind of thin" and tries to convince him to return to the chicken farm. Hank mentions that the company manufacturers the equipment that Gale purchased and has connections to Gus. A desperate Walt blows past the turn, then u-turns the car into oncoming traffic, causing a major accident. We see Hank laid up in bed with a neck brace talking to Skyler and Walter Jr. Walt drops by with what looks like a broken nose. He apologizes for the accident, which Hank calls a "brain fart." Marie wants this to mean the end of Walt taking him on stakeouts. In a week Hank will get a Tahoe with hand controls.Saul calls Skyler and tells her that Ted doesn't own a gun or have a panic button. She doesn't want anybody hurt, but needs Ted to write the check.Saul's muscle shows up at Ted's place. They explain that he needs to write a check to the IRS. Ted writes the check and signs the slip for UPS. One of the guys tells Ted that they are now going to wait with him at his house until the check clears. At this point Ted makes a run for it and trips over a rug, which causes him to slip and slide neck first into a desk. He lies face down with his fingers twitching.Walt is covertly brought to the lab in a laundry truck. With Tyrus overseeing things Walt noticing that somebody cooked while he was gone. He asks who was in the lab.At Jesse's place, where he is hanging out with Andrea and her son playing games, Walt shows up. An irate Jesse pushes him out onto the lawn. Walt confronts him about cooking without him. He tells Jesse that if he replaces him Gus will kill him. Jesse criticizes him for taking Hank to the lab. Walt asks Jesse for help, at which point Jesse reminds him that when he needed help, Walt told him he'd end up in a barrel. Jesse goes inside and Walt turns around to see holding a stun gun.Out in the middle of the desert, presumably the following day, Gus arrives and pulls a blindfold off of Walt's head. Gus tells Walt that he is fired and warns him to stay away from Jesse. Walt responds "or else you'll do what?" and points out that if Gus could kill him he'd already be dead. Walt realizes that Jesse won't cook for him if he kills Walt. Gus admits he is right, "for now." He says that Walt failed to deal with Hank so now he must do it himself. If Walt intervenes, Gus threatens to kill Walt's family. He and Tyrus leave Walt there with his car.Saul meets with his guys, who refer to what happened to Ted as "an act of God." Walt bursts into the room. He tells Saul about Gus' threat and says he needs to be connected with the guy who disappears people. Saul says there is no coming back from this and it will cost half a million cash for four people. He gives him the card for a vacuum cleaner repair company. Walt is supposed to call and ask for an extremely specific repair, which will set things in motion. Walt needs to have his family packed and have the money ready before he calls. Walt tells Saul to call the DEA and tell them there is hit out on Hank for the cartel.Walt races home, goes to the crawl space and starts grabbing cash. He mutters "it's not enough." Skyler comes home and asks what his phone call meant. He looks up and asks where the rest of the money is and she tells him she gave it to Ted. Walt begins to weep, then starts cackling maniacally. The phone rings. It goes to voicemail and a panicked Marie says Hank is being threatened and the DEA is sending agents to guard their home. With Walt still laughing Skyler picks up the phone and asks her to explain what's going on. Walt appears to pass out laughing as the camera pulls back from above the crawl space, boxing Walt in.

We open with a pre-recorded bit, in...
more
We open with a pre-recorded bit, in which Jane Lynch sits down with the faux-President of Television, Leonard Nimoy, who tells her that men find her woman-ish and women find her man-ish. (Alec Baldwin had taped this, but quit when Fox cut a News Corp joke. It's hard not to think Baldwin's comedic timing might have served the bit better than Nimoy's.)Leonard reminds her not to let the audience know that all the stars all live together in a tiny apartment building, which he reveals behind the curtain. Yes, it's weird.
Then it's time for the song, about the magic of television as Jane wanders through.Jeremy Piven and "Lloyd" (Rex Lee) join for a few dance moves, after which Piven wonders what he's doing. "I'm not even on anymore!"
Jane sings about TV crime shows and we see Kevin Nealon, then Eric Dane from "Grey's Anatomy" as she sings about patients being cured in a week.
Jane next wanders into "The Big Bang Theory", then by Marcel from "Top Chef", Randy Jackson from "American Idol," the boys from "Myth Busters" and up to Ron from "Parks and Rec" who tells her to stop singing."I know this seems stupid and shlocky, and already seems overly long, but it's the Emmys, c'mon! Get on board," Jane tells him.And then she sings some more, not taking her own analysis to heart, walking by Andy Richter and the cast of "Mad Men". She tells them about the future, including that people can watch TV on their phones and fast forward through commercials. Don Draper kicks her out. There's a line about on TV high school students look roughly 24 as she walks by a few "Friday Night Lights"ers in a locker room. Then it's Jane into a rally hosted by her "Glee" alter-ego, Sue Sylvester, whom she promptly slushies. Then we're into the auditorium, where the number continues, as Jane sings about TV as a vast wonderland. ("Except for HBO, it's not TV")The dancers lift her in the air for the big finish. "Try doing that in triple-Spanx," she says.
She surveys the audience, picking out her "nodding friends," and noting that "Jon Hamm and I are at 'finger-pistols'."Jane introduces "The Emmy Tones," some actors she roped into joining her, including Zachary Levi, Cobie Smulders, Taraji Henson, Kate Flannery, Wilmer Valderrama and Joel McHale, presumably friends she had some dirt on.
They sing to introduce the first comedy category. The audience doesn't seem to know what to do with it, but at least is happy to know what Wilmer Valderrama is up to.We see seconds-long clips from a slew of shows, then it's on to Jimmys Fallon and Kimmel.Kimmel congratulates Fallon on his nomination, then asks if he wrote a speech. Fallon says no, because they all know Jon Stewart is going to win. Kimmel then tackles him him to the ground, wresting the prepared speech from his pocket. It contains "notes to self" such as crying on cue and holding the statue like it's the "Lion King" baby.On to best supporting actress in a comedy, Jane Lynch's category.
Julie Bowen from "Modern Family" wins."I don't know what I'm going to talk about next week in therapy now," she says, struggling to compose herself.Juliana Margulies is out next to present "Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy", deadpanning that she's the funniest woman in TV. She notes the category features "that kid from 'Glee' and that guy from 'Pretty in Pink' and four guys from 'Modern Family," she says. The winner is: Ty Burrell from "Modern Family".
He mentions that his dad passed away before he had success and he wonders what he'd think of the fact he goes to work every day in full make-up. Then he thanks all his costars and mentions his dad again.
"If he were here tonight, I think he would say... 'But why the make-up?'."
His dad would like his wife and be impressed that he gets to learn every day, "in the end I think he'd feel like, 'Couldn't you just wear a little powder? Why do you have to look like a harlot?'"Jane welcomes us back and introduces controversial Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais, via satellite. He apologizes that he couldn't be there, and says he wasn't allowed after the Globes. This sets up his bit, that he was warned he'll be edited if he says anything controversial. Some quick cuts ensue, including one that has him calling Fox fantastic in splices. He intros the nominees for "Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series".
The Emmy goes to Michael Alan Spiller for "Modern Family".Zooey Deschanel and Will Arnett are up to present comedy writing. The winners are Steven Levitan and Jeffrey Richman of "Modern Family." The Steven mentions the episode with the kids walking in on their parents came from real life (his wife's eye roll in the audience gets the biggest laugh of the speech). That's four awards, all to the same ABC show. Fox, which is airing the telecast, must be thrilled.Jane welcomes us back to "The Modern Family Awards".
She introduces the next presenter, saying she was his therapist for many years "and apparently I suck." Ladies and Gentlemen, Charlie Sheen, to present "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series", his old category. He addresses his former "Two and a Half Men" costars, and says from the bottom of his heart, he wishes them continued success. There is no punchline, but plenty of awkward. The winner is Jim Parsons from "The Big Bang Theory". (The announcer who has been offering banal facts as the winners walk up mentions that he eats a lot of peanut butter.)"Oh this is so odd for so many reasons," says the CBS star, going on to not make much more sense as Sheen, the former CBS star, lurks behind him.Sofia Vergara and Rob Lowe are out next for "Outstanding Lead Actress in Comedy", they start with Amy Poehler from "Parks & Recreation" and she takes the stage. She's joined by Melissa McCarthy, Martha Plimpton, Edie Falco,Tina Fey and Laura Linney. They hold hold hands like beauty queens and wait. They get a standing ovation as everyone tries to figure out if the bit was planned. The winner is Melissa McCarthy from "Mike and Molly" who can fairly clearly be seen to say "holy s---" when her name is announced. She's presented with roses and a tiara to go with her award."Holy smokes!" she says, acknowledging her sister in the audience. She promises to carry CBS prez Nina Tassler and Les Moonves around later that night. We return to a pre-recorded bit with stars from "The Office" talking about the worst part of their job. Then others stop by, like Jesse (Aaron Paul from "Breaking Bad") to bring Creed a bag. He takes it, announcing: "Hey guys, my crystal meth is here!"Kim Kardashian doesn't understand the question and wonders if she's pronouncing "work" right."The Office" mates confer and decide the new boss doesn't seem right, Andy goes to talk to him and finds Ashton Kutcher, wondering if the "beautiful drifter" is in the wrong place.Kutcher plays dumb. "I was wondering where the half man was," he says. The Emmy Tones are back to sing awkwardly about the new combined reality and variety category.Jane Lynch returns. "Everyone was asking me if I have a gay agenda for hosting, and actually I do," she says, taking a list out of her pocket to read from.
"Call Rachel Maddow and find out what time spinning is, take the pick-up in for an oil change - nah, I'll do that myself. And there was a third thing, but I must have left it in my fanny pack."David Spade and Kaley Cuoco are out next to introduce best outstanding reality competition. (She towers over him.)
The Emmy goes to "Amazing Race" again. (The announcer says it's a "race to the podium". Groan.)On to best writing for a variety, music or comedy series.
The Colbert Report writers shout their name all at once, SNL's scroll with pictures of Justin Timberlake, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon rolls with puppies dressed up, Jon Stewart's crew does mock up of Newsweek's cover and Conan O'Brien pulls one name from a hat - his."The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" wins. It's the show's seventh win.
The writers read a stilted thank you, the joke of which is that Jon Stewart usually proofs their writing, but not this time.Jane wanders the audience, talking to the camera, mentioning that after the show the clothes come off and it's a big sweaty pile.
She introduces "The Lonely Island" and Michael Bolton.
They're on to the Bolton doing captain Jack Sparrow, then Ed Helms, John Stamos and Maya Rudolph doing the "D--- in a box" guys singing "It's Not Gay if It's in a Threeway" (might have to YouTube that for it to make sense). Then Akon comes out singing about just having sex in front of a giant American Flag.Lea Michele and Ian Somerhalder are out next to introduce best directing for variety, music or comedy series. more
We see a pair of eyeglasses on the floor next to shoes with blood dripping down from an unseen person. The person picks up the glasses.Walt gets out of his car wearing the same shoes from the opening scene. He's picking up Hank and Hank makes a reference to minerals while Marie is helping him into the car. They are actually headed to Los Pollos Hermanos to pick up the tracer Walt stuck on Gus' car. Walt notices in the rear view that they're being followed. With Tyrus looking on Hank retrieves the tracking device. He heads right back to the car, which Hank doesn't like.Hank plugs in the tracking device at home. All it shows is Gus' car going back and forth between work and home. Hank thinks "a guy this clean has to be dirty."Hanks leaves his driveway and pulls right up next to Tyrus' car and rolls the window down. He calls 911 and reports a suspicious man driving a car the color of Tyrus' and drives away.Walt arrives at the lab and finds Jesse sitting in the parking lot, having already started that week's cook. Walt asks for a cigarette and Jesse lights him up. Walt asks what he's been up to. Jesse talks about watching reality TV and promises to eventually kill Gus. Walt says "What does it matter? We're both dead men anyway."We see Skyler doing the books for the business. She calls Walt and tells him Walter Jr.'s birthday is coming up and they should buy him a used car. Walt tells her she should pick it out. She says business is good, so good in fact that maybe he doesn't need to work his second job. She thinks in another month or two they'll be turning a profit and he should think about an exit strategy: "I'm working on it," Walt says.Hank calls Walt and says he thinks he's onto Gus. He's found out that Los Pollos Hermanos has a main distribution center with tons of space to hide illicit activity. He wants Walt to give him a ride out there and Walt says he's in the bathroom. Hank says he'll find another ride and Walt perks up, saying he can help out in a day or two. They hang up and Walt calls Mike to tell him Hank's interest in the distribution center. Mike hangs up without saying a word.Jesse is helping repackage a bunch of product. Mike says it's going "elsewhere" and Jesse spots Gus supervising.Ted (nmnm0184086) drops by to see Skyler at work. He says he needs to talk to his former bookkeeper and lover. He shows her that his company is being audited by the criminal division of the IRS the following day. He's facing a huge fine and prison time and asks her if there is any way she could uncook his books. She says she can't have an audit in her life right now and he ends up leaving. While cleaning up things at the distribution center Jesse asks Mike if Gus is going to kill Hank. With Mike in the background Jesse talks through the pros and cons of knocking off the lone DEA agent looking into Gus and whether Walt would continue to work for Gus. Mike asks if Jesse would have a problem if anything happened to Hank and Jesse responds "Who cares what I think."While helping load things onto a truck a man killed in front of Jesse. With silenced sniper bullets landing everywhere Jesse freezes and Mike pushes him out of the way just before he is killed. Gus walks out of the building and heads right toward the shooter. Bullets land near his feet but he continues to walk. Gus holds his arms to the side and stares in the direction of the sniper, who we see is the man Gus met with before. The shooter smirks and lifts his sniper rifle in preparation to leaving.Gus gets a phone call. He answers in Spanish and says "Tell them, the answer is 'yes.'"During a cook Jesse and Mike arrive with the body of the man killed next to Jesse; The body is to be disposed of in a barrel as has been done before. Walt starts complaining about having to dispose of a corpse and wonders what this person could have done to piss off Gus. Mike gets mad, telling Walt to be quite. He adds that if Walt ever calls the police on one of his guys he should "get two barrels."The barrel is taken away. Jesse awkwardly thanks Mike, who says "next time don't stand their like an idiot." Jesse asks about Gus walking directly into the bullets and Mike says that the cartel needs Gus and his distribution network. When Jesse wonders if the rest of them are disposable Mike suggests he ask Gus himself.Ted is grilled by the IRS agent about the inconsistencies in his paperwork and unreported income. Skyler walks in in a push-up bra and a wild blonde hairdoo, brilliantly feigning being an airhead. She pretends not to know what the agent is talking about when he mentions that not declaring income is unlawful. She tells the guys she's never had any training, basically implying that she was hired because she slept with Ted. The agent asks whether she's managing accounts anywhere else. She says she's just a cashier in a car wash, which is the impression Ted is under.Outside the building Skyler tells Ted that she just saved him from prison. He needs to figure out a way to pay what he owes or they will re-open the investigation. He says "I wish I could" and drives off.Jesse sits in his car fingering his "special" cigarette before knocking on Gus' front door. Gus invites him in and we see him cooking. Mike has said he had questions. Gus says "we'll eat first and then we'll talk." At dinner Jesse asks why he's there. Gus says he'll explain everything, but wants to know if he can replicate Walt's formula. Jesse says no, gets indignant and wonders if he's there so Gus can kill Walt and have him take over. Gus says that is not what this is about, that Jesse is there to help him prevent an "all-out war" with the cartel. He then asks Jesse the question again.Skyler is having trouble sleeping. She opens the hatch and looks at the cash she has hidden in the crawlspace under the house.Walt leaves after a cook. We learn that he's placed one of Hank's trackers on Jesse's car. While he looks at the results he listens to voicemail from Jesse who wants him to come over.Jesse tells Walt that he's been asked to go to Mexico. The cartel has been messing with the information and Jesse tells him about the sniper. The cartel wants half of Gus' operation and Walt's formula. Since Gus doesn't trust Walt, Jesse is supposed to go down there and teach a bunch of kids how to make "the Blue." Jesse is panicking, thinking that if he screws this up he is dead. Walt listens to this silently and asks whether Jesse met with Gus. Jesse says no, then Walt confronts about his lie. Jesse says he never had a chance to do it. Walt is furious and thinks that Jesse wasted the opportunity to save their lives. Walt admits that he placed the tracker on his car. He says that Jesse has signed his death warrant and tells him he knows he'll go to Mexico and screw up. Jesse throws the tracking device at Walt's face and the two begin to fight. They each get in some good shots before collapsing next to each other. Walt tries to find his glasses and Jesse knocks him face-first into a coffee table. Jesse then gets on top of Walt and gets in a few solid punches. They stand up and Jesse asks "Can you walk?" When Walt says he can Jesse responds: "Then get the f--- out of here and never come back."

We open with a flashback to Hank...
more
We open with a flashback to Hank speaking with Gus in the hospital after Hank was shot. Gus assures Hank that everything will be okay and we spot Mike leaving the hospital floor after finishing off the second cousin.Cut to Tio (Mark Margolis) watching a news report and learning that the cousins have both been killed. Gus enters the room and turns off the TV. He sits next to Tio and tells him that his nephews grew impatient about wanting to kill Walt and decided to go after Hank. Gus tells Tio he was responsible both for tipping off Hank that he was about to be attacked and the murder of Juan Bolsa. He tells Tio "This is what comes of blood for blood, Hector."Walt goes to the hospital for his regular scan to see if his cancer is still in remission. He sits next to a man who recently found out he has cancer. The man talks about giving up control to the cancer and Walt tells him he's wrong, that he should live life on his own terms. At any point the cancer could come back, but until then Walt is in charge.Gus is called in for a meeting at DEA. Hank, Gomez, Merkert and Roberts are present. They ask about his fingerprints being found at a crime scene and Gus immediately brings up Gale. He has a flawless explanation, mentioning that Gale is a past recipient of a scholarship program Gus sponsors. They two hadn't seen each other in quite some time but Gale recently reached out to him. Gus says he was looking for money and mentions that Gale was always interested in cutting corners. Everybody is satisfied, but Hank has one final question. He knows Gus is of Chilean decent but can't seem to find any record of him that country prior to 1986 when Gus immigrated to Mexico. Gus explains that one of the many issues of the Pinochet regime was lackluster record keeping. In the elevator afterwards we see Gus' fingertips nervously tapping in rapid-fire succession. There doesn't seem to be any sense that Gus' story wasn't credible to the agents. Hank points out it is strange that Gus never came forward when he read about Gale's murder, but Merkert tells him they can't push forward with a murder investigation because somebody didn't call the police.Saul drops by to see Andrea in her new place. He leaves her some money. She asks about Jesse and Saul says he's "busy." Jesse was waiting in the car and gets the report. At a family dinner Marie says she's thinking about making a move up to management. Walt says his scan showed he's still in remission. Marie brings up Hank's recent DEA meeting but says he won't tell anyone what it was all about. Hank asks Walt to give him a ride to a mineral fair the following day.We see Hank in the car with Walt, telling him they aren't going to anything related to minerals. They pull up to Los Pollos Hermanos and Hank tells Walt he thinks Gus is a drug dealer. Hank tells him about Gale, the fingerprints and bringing him in for questioning. Despite Gus performing so well in the interview Hank is still sure he's involved. The reason they are there is that Hank wants Walt to place a GPS tracking device on Gus' car. At this moment Mike pulls up two spaces away from their car. Walt says he doesn't feel good about doing it but Hank presses him into it. In full view of Mike, Walt stops near Gus' car and then heads into the store.Inside the store Walt walks up to a register and shows Gus that he still has the device. Gus tells him to "do it."Walt walks back outside and places the tracker on Gus' car. He gets into his car and leaves with Hank.Walt goes to the lab and tells the camera he had no idea why Hank brought him there. He says nobody in the DEA believes Hank's story and that if anything were to happen to Hank it would increase suspicion.Walt goes to see Jesse and tells him the timetable for killing Gus has advanced. He mentions Hank being "onto Gus." Walt reminds him that Hank catching Gus means Hanks catching them, as well. Jesse thinks that if Gus was worried he was have taken Hank out. Walt thinks this is a good opportunity for Jesse to request a sit-down with Gus. Jesse goes to the bathroom and while he's gone gets a text that reads "Meeting is off. Something came up. Boss is busy." Walt reads the message and puts the phone back, telling Jesse he thinks he got a call when he returns. Jesse doesn't tell Walt what the message was about, and says "It's nothing."Mike calls Gus and tells him that Hank is completely alone in his suspicion and there is no warrant behind the tracker. Mike thinks if he, Mike, can't locate Gus prior to 1989 there is no way Hank will be able to. Mike thinks the cartel is the bigger issue, but having to deal with both Hank and them at the same time is dangerous. Gus says he'll be in touch.Gus places his track on a newspaper machine in front of his store and drives to see Tio. He tells him he's said no to the cartel's ultimatum and that Hank is a "concern." He asks Tio "Is today the day?"We flashback to a young Gus and his young friend Max (James Martinez) -- the "Pollos Hermanos" - waiting for meeting with a cartel boss named Don Eladio (Steven Bauer). Tio and Juan Bolsa are Eladio associates sitting in on the meeting. We learn that Gus and Max want to make meth and help the cartel to profit from it as well. Max, sponsored by Gus, has been trained in chemistry at a Chilean university. Gus gave some of Eladio's men free samples to get the meeting. Eladio doesn't think much of meth, associating it with "bikers and hillbillies." Gus and Max counter that what they are making is more potent than what he is familiar with and they could make him millions. Not to mention that unlike cocaine the cartel will be able to reap more financial profit, instead of acting as the Colombian's middle men. Ultimately Eladio tells them he is offended by having his hand forced into meeting with them. When Gus isn't looking Tio shoots Max in the head. Gus, his face covered in Max's blood spatter, is forced to stare into Max's dead eyes as Tio tells him that he is the reason Max is dead. Eladio tells Gus the only reason he isn't being killed as well is because Eladio knows Gus. Eladio reminds Gus "You are not in Chile anymore."Back in present day Gus leans into to Tio face and says: "Look at me Hector. Look at me." Gus leans back in his chair and smiles. He gets up to leave and places a hand on Tio's back, adding "Maybe next time," before walking out.

more
Open with Jesse playing a first-person shooter video game. As he shoots the characters on the screen he flashes back to shooting Gale.Skyler arranged for Walter Jr.'s new car to go back to the dealer. Walter Jr. hasn't talked to her since she told him the car had to go back.Cut to Walt in a parking lot making donuts on the pavement. He loses control of the car and puts it up on one of the concrete parking spot dividers. He rolls up the title, sticks it in the gas tank and lights it on fire. He walks a safe distance, sits down and calls a cab. Near the end of his conversation the car blows up.Walt has Saul handle his car-burning incident so that he doesn't end up in the system for destruction of property. Walt is upset, telling Saul he's basically waiting for when Gus decides to kill him. Walt asks Saul if he knows of a third-party hit man to take care of Gus. Saul has a few names, but they all know Mike. Walt mentions he can't get close enough to Gus to handle it himself, and Saul tells him about Jesse's interaction with Gus.Walt asks Jesse about his brief talk with Gus. Jesse tells him what Gus told him about "seeing something in him." Walt points out how strange it is that just weeks after Gus wanted them both dead he's telling Jesse things like that. Walt starts to remind Jesse about his history with Gus and Jesse says he'll do it: "I'll kill Gus. First chance I get."Marie stops by the car wash and tells Skyler that Hank is doing better. Walt drops by and Marie eyes them as they awkwardly kiss hello. In the back, Walt pulls out a ton of cash to put in the safe. He tells her that he makes $7.5 million dollars a year and she is worried because it's more than she thought it would be. No car wash in the world does that kind of business. She's also not happy that his cash is in 50-dollar bills. Walt doesn't appear sympathetic to her complaints, saying "If you want out, tell me."During the next cook, Walt makes something in the office microwave. He gives the vial of powder to Jesse and we learn it is ricin, the same poison that he used to go after Tuco. Jesse needs to put the powder in Gus' food. 36 hours later Gus will be dead and it will look like natural causes. Jesse hides the vial in a cigarette."Don't smoke it," Walt adds.Hank and Walter Jr. go to Los Pollos Hermanos. Walter Jr. tells Hank about having the car for 15 hours. Gus drops by their table and offers Walter Jr. a job if he ever needs one. Gus refills Hank's soda and we see that when Hank gets to the car he carefully puts the cup into a plastic evidence bag.Mike and Jesse drive to Gus' remote compound which is heavily guarded. Mike puts in an ear piece and the two go inside. Jesse is told to make coffee while Gus and Mike discuss what sounds like a meeting with the rival drug cartel. Jesse gets his cigarettes out, but his hands are shaking. Mike comes up from behind and gives him a gun. An SUV pulls up and young bearded man gets out with one guard.Inside the trailer the man tells Gus in Spanish that he is the only one there because his employers feel "[he] can adequately represent their interests." Gus and the man sit at the table, with Mike sitting in the back. Gus offers a one-time payment of $50 million in exchange for an "absolute severance." The response is that Gus knows what the Cartel wants, and anything else would be a waste of time. "Is it to be yes . . . or no?" and then tells Gus that "this is not a negotiation."Outside Jesse smokes nervously. The man leaves and Gus walks outside after him.Mike tells Jesse he's going to teach him how to shoot. Jesse responds by asking Mike what Gus sees in him. Mike thinks it's loyalty, "though maybe you have it for the wrong guy."Jesse shows up at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. He says he fell off the wagon and has been clean for four days. He says a few weeks ago he killed a dog. He put the dog down and looked him in the eyes while it happened. An obviously emotional Jesse says the dog wasn't sick, it was just a "problem dog." One of the women at the meeting is critical of him and Jesse begins to rant about the pointlessness of acceptance. Eventually he tells them he originally started coming there to sell them drugs and asks the group leader if he accepts the fact "I made you my bitch." The group leader says no and Jesse leaves.During the next cook Walt asks Jesse why he hadn't done it yet. Jesse lies and says he hasn't seen Gus.Marie drops Hank off at the office and leaves him with Gomez. Hank meets with Gomez and Merket. He tells them about the Gale case. He thinks Gale was Heisenberg's former cook and could give them a line to catch Heisenberg. The series of numbers written on the Los Pollos Hermanos napkin is a part number for a $300,000 HEPA air filtration system which would be perfect for an enormous meth lab. Six months ago one of the devices was shipped to Albuquerque. Gale signed for it but there is no record of who paid for it. The company that makes the part is based in Germany, but also owns the Pollos Hermanos chain. Hank wonders if perhaps Gus is their guy. Merket and Gomez think he's reaching. Then Hank drops a bomb: He found Gus' fingerprints in Gale's apartment.

more
This time there are two guards, neither of which are Mike, in the back of another Los Pollos Hermanos truck as it is pulled over. They hear the sound of the driver being killed and then we see three men take a hose and funnel the truck's exhaust back into the cargo area where guards are waiting. They lock the door and eat snacks while waiting for the two men to die. They go in the back and find the tub with product inside.Skyler listens to Walt's voicemail where he told her loved her over and over. We see she recently read Gale's bio online. She wakes up a hung-over Walt and asks him if he knew Gale and asks about who might have killed him. She suggests that his message may have been a good-bye of sorts and wonders whether he could be killed in the same way Gale was. Walt then turns tough guy, assuring her that "I am not in danger. I am the danger." When he gets out of the shower she is gone.Walt goes to the car wash and meets with Bogdan. He emphasizes to Walt that they are buying the place "as is." The conversation turns to what kind of job Walt has ahead of him running the business. Bogdan emphasizes that a boss needs to be tough and make people do thinks they don't want to. He tells Walt that if he isn't up to the challenge he can "always call your wife." He gives Walt the keys and grabs a framed dollar off the wall to take. Walt reminds him "as is," and has him hand it over. Once he leaves Walt smashes the frame, takes the dollar out and puts it into the coke machine.Mike and Jesse sit at a diner together. Mike notices Jesse appears to be a little shaky and asks if he's okay. Jesse references not using and Mike gives him some food. Mike gets a call and has to leave, referencing "both of them" to whoever is on the phone. Jesse asks if he needs help and Mike says no.Walter Jr. and Walt sit at the breakfast table and talk about the fact Skyler has left. Walter Jr. talks about Walt having a sickness and thinks his mother shouldn't be allowed to get mad at him. Walt says their issues are because of choices he's made. On the way to school Walter asks his dad if he's actually going to move in or not. Walt says they're taking a detour and takes him to get a car. They return home with Walter Jr. driving a brand a new sports car.Walt asks Jesse for info on what he's been up to with Mike. Walt thinks Jesse should be questioning what has been happening. Jesse thinks it may have started as him being babysat, but his heroics in saving Mike may have changed Gus' mind. Walt wonders if maybe the robbery was a complete set-up, a plan by Gus to drive a wedge between the two of them. Walt thinks "this is all about me" and Jesse walks away. While Walt and Jesse clean up after a cook the phone rings. It's for Jesse. He says he has to go and Walt is left to do all of the clean up. Walt runs upstairs to the ladies working the dry cleaners above the lab and asks for help cleaning. Once they get near the entrance of the lab they get nervous. He pulls out cash and tells them he only needs two hours. While the ladies clean the lab Walt tips his coffee cup to one of the surveillance cameras.Skyler goes to the Four Corner Monument where Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah meet. She flips a coin, which lands in Colorado. She flips it again and it lands once more in the Colorado corner. She takes her foot and slides the coin over to New Mexico.Mike and Jesse pull up to a house. Mike says they're watching it because the word is men there are selling their stolen product. Jesse wants them to go rushing in, but Mike tells him the plan is to sit and wait because word is the guys having been using the meth themselves and are heavily armed. Jesse leaves the car against Mike's wishes, saying he's going to pretend to be a buyer. Jesse knocks on the door and asks for some of the blue. He is told to get lost. Jesse gets back in the car and asks Mike to pop the trunk. Jesse takes a shovel, saying "I know meth heads." He starts digging a hole in the front yard. One of the guys walks out and asks Jesse what he's doing. Jesse makes it sound like he knows and gets the guy to start helping him dig. He asks if he can use the bathroom and walks right in as Mike smiles from the car.Inside the house Jesse tells a shotgun-welding meth head that he wants to buy some blue. The guy points the gun at Jesse's head and starts talking crazy. He gets distracted by a noise at the door and Jesse bashes him over the head, taking the gun. Mike walks in and picks up the Los Pollos Hermanos lid. It has "Are you ready to talk?" scrawled on it in Spanish.Walt and his cleaning ladies leave the lab. He hands them more cash just as Gus henchman Tyrus walks up and tells the ladies to get in his car. He tells Walt they're being sent back to Honduras. Walt says that Gus should blame him and not the ladies. "He does," Tyrus says.Mike and Jesse sit at the dinner. Gus stops by and asks Jesse to leave. Mike tells Gus the crew that took their drugs gave the product to two local "nobodys." He tells him about the message and offers to hire ten or fifteen pros and hit them back. Gus doesn't want a war, instead telling Mike to set up a meeting. Gus then asks Mike how Jesse did, but we don't hear Mike's answer. Gus leaves the diner and tells Jesse "I hear you can handle yourself." Jesse asks Gus "Why me?" and the response is that "I like to think I see things in people."Skyler comes home, pulling in next to Walter Jr.'s new car. She walk in and Walter Jr. tells her about the car and all its positive features. Walter Jr. leaves and she asks for the car wash keys. Walt says he may have overstated things earlier and says everything he does is to protect his family. Skyler wonders if buying the car protected the family. She says the car has to go back, as it directly contradicts their cover story. She points out the potential problems the car could cause with Hank and Marie, the IRS, etc. She looks him in the eyes and says "someone has to protect this family from the one who protects his family."

Walt is zipping in and out of traffic telling Saul on the phone that he needs to make sure "she gets every last dollar." He calls Skyler and leaves her a voicemail telling her he loves her and the kids. Walt reaches down and gets his gun from under the front seat, continuing to drive like a maniac.Walt pulls into the lot at Los Pollos Hermanos. He demands the woman at the counter go in the back and get Gus. Walt sits down to wait, noticing the surveillance cameras. An SUV pulls up three Hispanic men walk in. Walt's phone rings. It's Mike, asking him what he's doing. He says Jesse is with him and is fine. He puts Jesse on the phone. Jesse tells Walt they are driving but he doesn't know where they're going. Mike gets back on the phone and says that Jesse will be with him today and he needs to go back to work. Walt heads to the back of the restaurant and finds Gus' office empty.Jesse threatens Mike that he better make sure he shoots straight. The car parks at a remote location and Mike pops the trunk. Jesse jumps out of the car, ready to use his keys as a weapon. Mike grabs a shovel and walks right past Jesse. Mike digs up a board, then reaches down into the ground for a bag. Mike returns to the car, placing the shovel into the trunk and briefly checks the bag, which is full of cash. He puts the bag into the trunk and tells Jesse they need to do this six more times that day and he wants to finish before dark. A confused-looking Jesse hops back into the car and they drive off.Hank tells Tim he thinks Gale is must be Heisenberg. He's not sure why Gale was killed, adding the only people he knows to be connected with the "blue stuff" are Badger and Jesse, and he's be surprised if Jesse was the shooter. He's shown a composite of the "person of interest" who is clearly Victor. Hank admits that finding Gale's body feels like closure to him and tells Tim "I'm done."Mike grabs another bag of cash from a preposterously out-of-way location. Jesse still has no idea why he's there. Unable to smoke or listen to music Jesse is growing increasingly bored after several more stops. Jesse realizes that Mike is doing the work of picking up cash from high-level dealers. Finally Mike pulls over and says he's not sure himself why Jesse is there. Mike is doing what he's told and tells Jesse to keep his mouth shut until they're done with the pick-ups.We see Walt cooking. His watch alarm goes off and he runs away.Walt and Skyler sign the papers that officially make them owners of the car wash. After the lawyer leaves Skyler tells Walt she's nervous and he assures he they'll be fine. She wants them to promise complete honesty and he says he likes the plan. Just before having a drink she listens to Walt's message from earlier. That leads to them having sex. Afterwards they make small-talk and she asks him to have dinner with Hank and Marie. With them still in bed Walter Jr. comes home. He seems to know what just happened. Skyler wonders if Walt should move back in, "just so it's easier to explain to everyone." He doesn't answer, saying only that he has to get back to work.Walt is having trouble working by himself. He yells at one of the cameras that he's done until he gets his partner back. He goes to lie down in the office of the lab. A member of Gus security shows up helps Walt without addressing any of his questions about Jesse. At the night's last pickup a man with a shotgun approaches the back of the car. Jesse spots him and throws the car into reverse, clipping the man and t-boning his partner sitting in their vehicle. Jesse throws the car into drive and peels off with the other car in pursuit. Mike exits the building with the last cash bag and runs out just as the cars leave the scene.Mike, on foot, uses his cell 'phone to call for a pick-up, but calls it off as Jesse pulls up next to him. Mike gets in the car and says he saw what Jesse did, allowing him to have a cigarette for the first time all day.The next morning Walt and Walter Jr. have coffee together. Walter Jr. says it's "cool" to have his father back home. Skyler told him that Walt was moving back in on Tuesday, which is clearly news to Walt.Walt arrives at the lab to find Jesse at work. Jesse tells him he was out making pick-ups with Mike and tells him about saving the stash. Jesse is going to be going out with Mike against that afternoon. He tells Walt "I guess I have two jobs now."Mike meets with Gus and we learn the attempted robbery was planned by Mike at Gus' request. Gus' plan was for Jesse to be a hero and Mike doesn't seem to know why.Skyler tells Marie and Hank about the new job. Skyler thinks they should put Holly on the sign. Walt goes to the kitchen and opens a new bottle of wine. He pours himself a glass, finishes it, then pours another glass before Hank yells at him to bring in the bottle. Walter Jr. asks about Gale ("the crazy singing guy"). Hank tells the table the Gale was a "five star meth chef," a "genius, plain and simple." Hank wonders what could have happened if a genius like Gale had taken his life in a new direction. A drunken Walter says that what he saw in Gale's notebook was "rote copying," wondering if the actual genius is still out there. The next morning we learn that Hank had Tim drop off Gale's file. He's back on the case. Looking through the crime scene photos Hank thinks it is strange that a vegan like Gale would have a napkin from Los Pollos Hermanos.

Bullet Points
Mike, dressed in insulated coveralls,...
more
Mike, dressed in insulated coveralls, is sitting in the back of one of Gus' 18-wheelers as it rolls along the road. The vehicle stops and he hears some conversation and then what sound like the driver getting shot. Men move towards the back of the truck and Mike ducks behind an impromptu barricade of boxes just moments before scores of rounds are fired into the trailer from automatic weapons.Outside, the ventilated trailer, two men reload their Heckler & Koch submachine guns, and empty two more magazines into the cargo container, this time from the side.Satisfied that any potential threat has been neutralized by their fusillade, the men throw open the rear doors and climb up only to be, second later, shot by Mike, coolly and efficiently.Mike hops down, ignores Gus' dead driver and touches the top of his right ear. A bullet has grazed it and left a flap of flesh dangling. He rolls his eyes at this minor inconvenience as he temporarily puts the bloody piece back in place.Skyler is making notes in the middle of the night, then the next day she and Walt attend a Gamblers Anonymous meeting.Back home Skyler sits across from Walt with a deck of cards. She wants to make sure he knows how to play blackjack, as they are about to tell Hank about the bogus way Walt earned the money they will be using to buy the car wash. Skyler has neurotically planned out in minute detail what they will say, even to the point of suggesting places where Walt should show a certain level of contrition or how she might get emotional.Walt, Skyler and Walter Jr. arrive at Hank and Marie's place. Hank immediately shows Walt and Walter Jr. his mineral collection. After displaying a few specimens Walter Jr. asks a question about the pink color of one of Hank's minerals, and Walt, detached, gives his son a detailed answer as Hank watches.Later he pulls out a file and shows a home video of Gale singing karaoke. Walt sits on the bed in stunned silence.Over dinner Walt and Skyler tell the sad story of his gambling and the riches he's earned. Walter Jr. and Hank both seems impressed. Walt excused him from the table and goes to Hank's room and begins rummaging through the file. He finds the "lab notes" folder. Walt runs into Hank in the hallway and the two tell the other they are available. This leads to Hank going through Gale's file with Walt. Hank seems fairly certain this dead man was the fictional "Heisenberg" character and he is upset he wasn't able to put cuffs on the guy. Hank eventually mentions that they've found prints at the scene and there are a few witnesses with some information.Walt rushes over to Jesse's place. After making through a sea of passed out partiers Walt finds Jesse in the back shaving people's heads. Walt has to grab Jesse and practically drag him to another room. Jesse isn't worried about the fingerprints, explaining that if his prints had been found he would have already been brought in for questioning. Walt starts asking Jesse to go over every single detail of the shooting, Skyler-style. Eventually Jesse walks away, paying a few of his buddies $100 each to throw Walt out of the place.Walt goes to Saul for advice. Saul doesn't think there is anything to worry about regarding Hank's ability to connect Jesse's with Gale's murder. Walt brings out how Jesse has been living and wonders how long until Gus decides his young partner is too much of a risk. Walt thinks he only professional in the operation and then starts to complain about the car wash and Skyler. Saul mentions that he has a guy who can help and his family disappear for a substantial fee. He calls it an "end game," as there is no coming back.Jesse leaves for work, asking a rambling young conspiracy theorist to make sure there is pizza there when he gets back. Jesse goes upstairs to get the kid cash for food. Jesse hands him two crisp one hundred dollar bills and a guy on the couch notices.Jesse and Walt cook, still watched as always by the video surveillance.Jesse comes home. He drops a few baggies of drugs to the masses, grabs a slice of pizza and a girl. Up in his room he sees that his cash drawer is empty. He barely pauses before firing up the video game system and starts playing a game with her.Jesse is woken up the next day by Mike, who demands he come downstairs. Mike has cleared out Jesse's place, save for one guy who lying in the middle of the floor blindfolded, handcuffed, bloodied and whimpering. This is the kid who stole Jesse's cash ($78,000) and Mike gives back the money. He starts to tell Jesse about what will happen to the kid, but Jesse walks away. He says he knows they won't kill him since they blindfolded him and says he's going back to bed.We see Mike meeting with Gus. He says something had to be done about Jesse.Walt finishes the next cook by himself. He looks at his watch in disgust, then drives over to Jesse's place. Walt finds the doors locked and finally has to go in through an unlatched window aqt the rear. Upstairs he finds Jesse's bedroom empty. He calls Jesse's phone again and sees that it's sitting on the bedside table. Walt returns to the lab, walks to one of the cameras and snarls "Where is he?"Mike is driving Jesse on a highway into the desert. He asks the young man if he wants to know where they are going. "Nope," a fatalistic Jesse says as the episode ends.

We open with a flashback of Gale...
more
We open with a flashback of Gale using a green box cutter to unpack the new equipment for the meth lab. Gus arrives and asks him how things are coming along. Gale says he is excited to be working with such high quality equipment. Gus wants the lab ready to go in two weeks. We see that Gale has a folder labeled "Lab Notes". Gale mentions the blue meth that Gus had him test. He tells Gus that his own meth is 96% pure but this blue meth is 99% pure. Gale says there's a huge difference between the two and that Gus should hire whoever made the blue meth.Jesse stands in Gale's doorway, right after he has fired the gun. Cut to a few moments later, Jesse is gone, a neighbor has called the police and several people are looking into the apartment. Victor runs in and checks Gale's body. We see that Gale has been shot through the eye and he is very dead. Victor exits the apartment and sees a stunned Jesse still sitting in his car. Victor pulls his own gun, gets into Jesse's car, and tells him to drive.Victor returns to the lab with Jesse. Mike asks Victor what happened and he says that Gale is dead. Victor tells Mike that several people were already at the scene when he arrived so he couldn't search the apartment for evidence. Victor says that witnesses saw him go in to check the body, though he didn't think it was a big deal. Mike calls Gus.Marie shows up at Skyler's place to deliver more of Hank's hospital bills. She worries that the bills are too much but Skyler assures her that they can afford to pay them. Marie mentions that Walt's car is in the driveway and intimates that Skyler and Walt are back together. Skyler is surprised about Walt's car but doesn't show it. Marie leaves. Skyler goes out to Walt's car, finds the spare key, and moves the car a few blocks away.Back at the lab, Walt tells Mike and Victor that if they don't start a cook in the next ten minutes they'll be off schedule. Walt says this will make Gus even angrier than the fact that Gale is dead. Victor stands up, takes off his jacket, and starts turning on machines. To Walt's surprise, Victor begins to cook.Skyler calls Saul's office. When his secretary goes back to find him, she finds Saul on all fours, desperately looking for hidden listening devices. We cut to Saul and his bodyguard at a pay phone. Skyler tells Saul that Walt is missing. Saul tells Skyler that everything is okay and guarantees 100% that Walt is fine. The second that Saul hangs up, he turns to his bodyguard and says "You got a passport, right?"Skyler goes to Walt's condo and finds it locked. She calls a locksmith. When he arrives, she tells him her purse was stolen so she can't get in. The locksmith says he can't legally open the door for her without identification. Skyler hands him her crying baby and fakes a panic attack. He finally lets her in and leaves. Skyler searches the condo but doesn't seem to find anything.Marie comes home to find Hank propped up in bed, using a laptop. Hank is bidding online for some type of crystal or mineral. Marie asks him about his therapy but he is sullen and complains about his lack of progress. Marie helps him use a bedpan.Walt watches as Victor continues to cook meth. Gus arrives. Without saying a word, he descends the stairs, walks to the rack of lab suits, and begins to undress. As Gus slowly changes into one of the protective suits, Walt says that it is sad that Gale had to be killed but he would do it again if given the chance. Walt keeps telling Gus why he needs to keep him and Jesse alive. Victor says that he's been watching Walt cook for a while and knows how to do it himself.Gus walks over to a drawer and pulls out the green box cutter we saw Gale using in the flashback. Walt begins talking faster, telling Gus how much he needs him and Jesse alive. Gus stands silently next to Victor, staring at Walt and Jesse. Gus grabs Victor and slashes his throat with the box cutter. Everyone is shocked. Gus calmly holds Victor as he bleeds out, spraying some blood on Walt and Jesse. Gus drops Victor's lifeless body at their feet and walks to another part of the lab to wash up. Victor's blood spreads and soaks Walter's shoes. Back in his regular clothes, Gus heads up the steps to leave. He pauses at the top and speaks for the first time: "Well", he says to Walt and Jesse, "get back to work".Cut to Mike watching as Walt and Jesse struggle to put Victor's body into a large drum. They fill the drum with acid and seal it. Walt cleans the outside of the drum. A bit of light is shining through the drum and we can see a silhouette of Victor's rapidly liquifying bones. Cut to a shot of the drum in the back of a truck headed out of town.Walt and Jesse are sitting in a booth at a Denny's. Jesse is wolfing down a stack of pancakes. Walt tries to reassure a silent Jesse that he did what he had to do. Jesse says that at least now they're all on the same page. Walt asks what page he means. Jesse says "the one that says, if I can't kill you, you'll sure as sh*t wish you were dead. Walt says they need to figure out their next move because he thinks Gus will try to kill them soon. Jesse says they have plenty of time because it will take Gus a while to find another capable chemist that he can trust.A cab drops Walt off at home. He's wearing new red sneakers, white pants, and a Kenny Rogers T-shirt with the tag still on it. He notices his car is missing just as Skyler walks outside. She tells him she moved it so Walt, Jr. wouldn't find it and be confused. She asks him if he's okay and he assures her he is. Skyler pulls the tag off his T-shirt and tells him where to find his car. Walt walks off.Cut to Gale's apartment being processed by crime techs. The camera pans to a folder sitting on top of the coffee table. It reads: "Lab Notes".
