"Desperate Housewives" - "Finishing the Hat" - May 13, 2012 And tonight, it's all over. The first hour dispenses with Bree's murder trial. But before we get into it we are informed that McCluskey is on her last legs. She has arranged for hospice care but the girls won't hear of it, saying they will take shifts to take care of her and she overcome with emotion at the outpouring of love since she was never sure how she was perceived and now realizes the women think of her as a friend. As it has progressed Bree's trial has gotten more sensational, Carlos has wanted to step up, and Gaby has begun freaking out even more. When it comes time for Ben to testify about the incriminating phone call he had with Bree in which she talked about "putting a body in the ground" he refuses to say anything. The judge tosses him in jail for contempt. In the pokey he explains partially what happend to Renee who is still angry about being kept in the dark and that her fiance is in jail. She recalls the night of the murder and that she saw Bree return home in muddy clothes with a shovel. After her meeting with Ben the prosecutor corners her and tells her she will deport Ben unless Renee testifes. She testifies. The other women get angry with her and she explains the DA was going to have Ben deported and she picked the man she loved over the "friends" who kept her in the dark. Bree's lawyer Trip is worried that the jury doesn't believe her now. He says it's time to tell the truth, not only to save her but because he has feelings for her. He kisses her and she immediately tells him it was Carlos and finally comes clean but makes him promise not to use the info against her friends. Trip calls Gaby to stand and gets her to admit Alejandro was her stepfather but then Bree fakes a fainting spell to get a recess. She is livid with Trip. While doing her shift taking care of McCluskey Gaby reiterates the whole story to Carlos and says she's going to take the fall for him because, as a victim of sexual abuse the jury will understand her killing him and that even though she's small adrenaline could explain her dragging his body to the woods and burying it. Because it would be Carlos' third strike she can't let him fess up, to the point where she plants a knife in his coat on the way to the courthouse so he will be stopped and she can rush ahead and testify. McCluskey, having overhead Gaby, goes to Trip at the courthouse and demands he put her on the stand because she can testify that Renee was drunk the night of the party and can't be trusted. Instead she gets on the stand and confesses to the murder, introducing the fact that Alejandro had sexually abused Gaby as a child and that when she saw him sniffing around went to Gaby's house and saw him she grabbed the candlestick and killed him, saying adrenaline allowed her to drag the body to the woods and bury it. The prosecutor drops the charges against Bree and, because of her age and declining health, doesn't charge McCluskey. All is well on Wisteria Lane with the ladies thanking McCluskey and celebrating with Bree. Renee comes to apologize and is forgiven. But Bree is harder on Trip, saying she can't trust him since she feels he manipulated her into telling him the whole story and then went against her wishes by putting Gaby on the stand. The second hour wraps up everyone's storylines. Penny informs Lynette that Jane is gone and Tom calls saying he wants to talk. She's excited, not realizing he thinks she has a new boyfriend. He arrives and says he's filing the divorce papers and it's time for them to move on. She is crestfallen. Gaby wonders why she doesn't go after him and Lynette says that now she realizes that it's not Jane it's her. But after a long chat with Roy, who was able to tell McCluskey everything he wanted to now that she's dying and tells Tom to say the important things now, Tom decides to declare his love for Lynette. When he says he knows she's moved on because his boss told him Lynette dumped him because she was in love with someone else Lynette says yes and that someone else is Tom. They kiss and reconcile. Katherine Mayfair returns to town and meets the four ladies. She's claims that she is no longer a lesbian for she and Robin apparently broke up three months after arriving in Paris. Katherine also reveals that she's a French frozen food magnate whose made millions and wants Lynette to run her U.S.operation in New York. When Lynette talks about this with Tom, he is crestfallen saying he now realizes Lynette will never be happy no matter what happens because of her unhappy upbringing. At Renee's wedding, Lynette realizes that she is in fact happy and gives a lovely toast that is as much for the happy couple as it is for Tom when she advises them to never forget how great they feel at this moment to know that someone loves them and that that is enough to keep you happy. When Tom hears that Lynette is truly happy he says maybe she should take that job in New York after all. Gaby gets a huge promotion at work and is nervous and excited about all the new hours and responsibilities. Carlos cheerleads for her until she starts missing dinners and trying to buy him off with fancy gifts like he used to do with her. He says he wants her time and for her to be present. He then scares her into realizing what she's neglecting by hiring a hot female gardener as a reminder of what she did with John Rowland all those years ago. She is angry about this since it is not funny to her to mock the most shameful thing she's ever done. At Renee's wedding they make up and compliment each other on how much they've grown and how their relationship works now and vow to keep it great. Susan is seeing Julie through the last weeks of her pregnancy trying to set her up on a date with her OB and dreading telling the girls that she is moving. She and Julie talk about men and Susan says she may or may not have another torrid romance in her but she has her memories of Mike and her life on the Lane to keep her warm. Julie, Gaby, and Susan are all helping insane and egostical "bridezilla" Renee on her big day to Ben. In the limo on the way to the wedding Julie's water breaks... all over Renee's dress. They make a quick stop at Gaby's department store to get a new wedding dress. While they're busy stealing/borrowing the dress, Susan jumps into the driver's seat of the limo and takes Julie to the hospital. Gaby and Renee emerge and when the limo is gone they hotfoot it to the wedding. Renee arrives disheveled and distraught but Ben says all the right things and the wedding goes off without a hitch and includes Lynette's lovely toast and Carlos and Gaby's reconciliation. Meanwhile, in her turns helping McCluskey she is tasked with getting a specific hard to get 45 and a turntable to play it on for the dying woman. At the same time Roy and McCluskey notice Trip constantly calling Bree and her giving him the brush off and this gives McCluskey an idea. On the day of the wedding Bree stops in and sees that McCluskey has the record and turntable and Roy says Trip got it for them. Trip then crashes the wedding and finally convinces Bree that he truly cares for her. She says she couldn't trust that he really liked her because he learned about all of her ugly secrets-- the drinking, promiscuity, lying. He says he doesn't want to love an ideal, but a person. They kiss. On her deathbed McCluskey listens to her record "Wonderful, Wonderful" and we see a montage: Ben and Renee dance at their reception, Julie giving birth, Tom and Lynette kissing and dancing at the reception and then Porter running in and telling them about Julie and rushing off to the hospital. Just as the baby is born, McCluskey dies. Bree gets a call and she and Trip run to McCluskey's house and comfort Roy and grieve. Gaby and Carlos dance with their girls. Then we cut to one last poker game. The four ladies reminisce and talk about how they hope this won't be their last game and how much they love each other. But, according to Mary Alice's final voice over, it is. She informs us, and we see, what happens to everyone: Lynette and Tom left Fairview four weeks later. She became a successful CEO, they loved New York and had six grandchildren thanks to Porter, Preston, and Penny getting married and having unrudely kids of their own. Gaby and Carlos left the following year. Gaby started a personal shopping website that led to her own show on the Home Shopping Network that led them to a mansion in southern California while Carlos apparently remained as a social services counselor. Two years later Bree and Trip got married. They moved to Louisville, Kentucky where Trip took a job at a law firm, and Bree became a member of the Kentucky state legislature where she also joined a women's club for ultra-conservative women and partakes in weekly bridge games and bakery sales. Susan moved first but before she did, she introduced herself to the woman moving in and wished her well. The woman worries it will be boring in the suburbs. Susan assures her it won't be. Before she leaves Susan takes one last spin around the block with MJ and Julie. As she drives away she is benevolently looked upon by many of the people who passed through the lane before passing on including Mike, Karen McCluskey, Carlos's mother, her ex-husband and Julie's dad Karl, Rex Van de Camp, Chuck Vance, Beth Young, Martha Huber and Mary Alice herself. Who says finally that even the most desperate life is oh so wonderful? We watch the new woman move into Susan's house. Wearing an acutely desperate look on her face, she carries a mysterious-looking locked box into the garage and stores it behind a locked door.

"Desperate Housewives" - "Give Me the Blame" - May 13, 2012 In the opening scene, we are informed that Karen McCluskey is on her last legs. "Desperate Housewives" - "People Will Hear" - May 6, 2012 The ladies are prepping for Bree's trial with her lawyer Trip and Gaby lets slip Alejandro's name by accident but covers it up. The girls' see the chemistry between them. Bree says she is totally focused on the case and so is he. But then admits that she totally digs him and he digs her. Then she realizes he has a hot, young girlfriend, or thinks he does since a hot, young blonde picks him up outside her house. Later, she calls to talk to him and he's at lunch with his girlfriend. She is at the department store trying to pick out a trial outfit. Gaby promises her it will be okay and reminds her that she's innocent. Bree is worried that Trip is distracted from her case by his girlfriend. Gaby reassures her again. At the courthouse Bree runs into Trip's girlfriend. Bree asks how Trip knows her. She says he hires her. Bree assumes she's a whore and basically says that to her face. And with that Lindsey, quits the case. She was a private investigator Trip hired and she had a big lead in Bree's case. He wants to talk to her but Bree dissuades him. Bree catches up to Lindsey on a surveillance gig. She ruins her surveillance and apologizes for insulting her bosoms. Lindsey calls her out for being jealous of her and Trip even though they're not together. She says female clients are always getting the wrong idea since he's such a good lawyer, listener, and shepherd. Bree says he really is into her though. Lindsey says nope, he's just into Bree's case not Bree. But she signs back on. The night before Bree's trial no one can sleep. Susan, Lynette, and Gaby meet up on the street. Susan and Lynette are worried, Gaby says it will be fine. Susan and Lynette muse about going to the judge and telling the truth and Gaby freaks out at the thought. Bree also can't sleep and Trip shows up, figuring she couldn't sleep. He brought donuts and "Casablanca." She's worried that since her trial is in six hours that maybe they should be doing something more productive. Trip says it's like sports: you practice all you can and then the night before the big game you just forget about it. They settle in for the movie, which he's never seen. The trial begins with opening statements. The prosecutor paints the picture of Bree as a drunken whore who didn't even remember bringing Alejandro/Ramon home and killing him. Trip counters that she is a pillar of the community and her friends will testify to that. Two women in the checkout line at the supermarket read a tabloid story about Bree the "black widow." Gaby overhears them and tries to school them that she's innocent and she defends her and the women tell Gaby to tell Bree to suck it up because everyone thinks she's guilty. Back at the trial the defense calls its first witness, Susan Delfino, then Lynette, and then Gaby. Their testimony is interspersed describing the night and providing her with an alibi. Gaby goes so far as to say as God as my witness Bree didn't kill him. Bree takes the stand and admits her transgressions including sleeping with all those men, she did not, however, kill Ramon Sanchez. The prosecutor wants to enter a new piece of evidence, it's a surprise to Trip, it's her suicide note. The prosecutor brings up the fact that the suicide note is dated the same day as Chuck's death. Basically inferring that Bree killed him too. She has Bree read the note. Outside of court Trip wants to know what that note was about. She says she was in a dark place with the drinking and the men but didn't kill anyone. He believes her but worries the jury won't. At Gaby's house she overhears the girls arguing and they break something. Gaby yells at Juanita for letting Celia take the blame for something she broke and as she yells at her about how not owning up to your own mistakes is bad she finally realizes the gravity of what Bree is facing and starts feeling badly. Back at the trial Trip asks for a recess when Lindsey brings Trip a file. He's found out who Alejandro really is, Gaby's stepfather Bree tries to explain about the pact with her friends. He wonders if she's willing to commit perjury or even go to jail for these friends she's protecting? She asks if that could happen. He says after the suicide note all bets may be off since the jury probably feels like she's hiding something and now he knows she is. She says this info about Alejandro being Gaby's stepfather can exonerate her but not without betraying her friends. Trip says she's facing 20-to-life and this could be her only way out and it's time to tell the truth about Gaby. As Bree contemplates this, Gaby shows up at the courthouse. She has brought the perfect scarf and she truly thanks her for what she's doing and says Bree is a much better person than Gaby could ever hope to be. They hug. Bree looks distraught.
Susan and Julie are navigating childbirth class and Julie wishes Susan would stop talking about Bree's murder trial. Julie is annoyed because Porter is late to childbirth class and has missed other meetings. He shows up just as they start showing the birthing DVD. Porter turns to the TV and passes out. Later, Susan tries to reassure Julie that it's going to be okay in the delivery room. She says Mike was shaky in the delivery room with MJ but once he was born Mike was her rock. She gets choked up talking about him and Julie comforts her. Susan says she's okay, there are just so many memories of Mike in the house. She says Porter will be fine and that Julie is wrong that he isn't into being a dad anymore. Susan goes to the fast food burger joint where he works to speak to Porter. He's working many extra shifts to help make money for the baby. Susan tells him to tell Julie that since she's worried he's losing interest. He admits to Susan that he's starting to realize it was a bad trade for Julie to keep the baby on the promise that he would help so she could go to school since he doesn't feel like he's going to amount to much. Susan tries to help Julie relax by doing visualization exercises about Julie finishing school. Julie is confused. Susan says she's moving up near Julie's college and will help with the baby. She thinks it will be good for her and MJ since there are memories on Wisteria Lane that are too hard to live with every day. Julie asks if she's sure. Susan says she is and that though Porter will always be part of the baby's life he needs to figure out his own life right now and she wants Julie to go after her dreams.
Tom is breaking the Mumbai news to the kids. Lynette is trying to play it down but the kids are really upset. Tom tries to reassure them. They all go upstairs. Lynette asks how Jane took the news. Tom says not so well since they're in a bad place. Lynette says maybe time apart will be good for them. Tom says it's going to be weird being so far away from Lynette for a year. He's really going to miss her. She apologizes. He asks why since there's nothing she can do about it. Renee shows Lynette her awful maid of honor dress and she okays it even though Lee thinks it's awful. She's distracted by the Mumbai thing. She tells Renee and Lee that Tom said he was going to miss her. She wants to keep him from going to Mumbai. Lynette goes to Tom's boss and tries to convince him not to send Tom to Mumbai. He thinks she has an odd sense of foreplay since this is their third date. She says the kids are a wreck. He says he won't since he was only doing it for her. She says she's so grateful. He says that he knows how she can show him. She says she's not sure she's ready for that step and isn't sure when she will be since there may be someone else. He's furious that she used him to get back at her ex and now she's dumping him for some other guy. He calls her unbelievable and storms out. (She never says it's Tom.) At his office Tom is saying goodbye to the guy who now is being sent to Mumbai in his place. Greg enters and Tom thanks him. Greg says he was doing it for Lynette so to thank her. He then calls Lynette a piece of work and wonders how Tom put up with it for so long saying he's either a saint or a masochist. Tom wants to start the meeting. Greg keeps calling her a ballbuster and a bitch. Tom hauls off and hits him. Greg says he hopes it was worth it because Tom is fired. Back at their apartment Jane is confused as to why Tom hit his boss. He says he just lost his temper. She thinks its because he still loves Lynette. He admits he does and says she was the woman who was there for him when he was broken and he still cares about her very much. She is, understandably, livid and sad and says "if it matters, I loved you" and walks out. Trying on the awful purple dress in front of Lee, Lynette admits she feels bad about Tom losing his job especially since this is why they broke up in the first place, her trying to control Tom's life. Lee can't stop laughing at the dress. She admits that the things she did to Tom were probably more about her being unhappy in general and not unhappy with him. Lee goes to unzip Lynette's dress and Tom walks up and only sees the back of his head and Lynette's bare back through the window and walks away thinking this must be the "other guy" she dumped Greg for.

Lost My Power

"Desperate Housewives" - "Lost My Power" - April 29, 2012 The chess pieces are being moved into their final places. Lynette is so intent on ruining Tom's life because she's a terrible person that she starts dating Greg, the CEO of Tom's company. Greg is so into ruining Tom's life to impress Lynette and because he had a bitter divorce of his own that he starts giving Tom extra work and forcing him to break dates with Jane. Which makes Jane crazy, Penny is happy to report to her mother. (This whole storyline: Lynette using his boss to get back at Tom, Penny snitching on Tom and Jane's private conversations, Lynette claiming nothing is going on with the boss is one of the most odious in this show's history.) Greg basically says anytime he can help Lynette piss off Tom and spend more time with Lynette he sees no downside. It escalates to the point where he tells her he's going to transfer Tom to Mumbai for a year and they will have Fairview all to themselves. She, because she is a terrible person and doesn't realize this means that she will have all the kids to herself as well, doesn't object even though she seems dazed. Carlos shows off his dingy new office as a counselor where he will help addicts find jobs and housing. Because she is a terrible person Gaby mocks the office, his work, and his pay. When she meet the rich widow of a big muckety muck she starts exploiting her to make money off her as her personal shopper. She invites her home. And when Carlos recalls that her husband was a major philanthropis he lures her and her bank account away from Gaby and has her invest in his non-profit instead. Gaby is incensed, since she works on commission. (Carlos also seems to be overlooking the fact that Gaby's work is actually helping to pay their bills. Yes, his work is useful and important but isn't keeping the roof over his own actual head.) Gaby is so mad that, because she is a terrible person, she makes over his office to look like he spends all the money that comes into the office has gone right into his office including a baby grand piano with a candelabra, a fancy gold desk, and fancy decorations. The widow sees this and is disgusted and takes her money elsewhere. Carlos is incensed at what Gaby did. She points out that he's just mad that he lost. He's a shark, says Gaby, who has simply turned his shark-like tendencies to another venture. He seems unsettled by this but also to recognize that it's true. He says he wants to be a different kind of man. MJ comes home and Susan finds info on a father/son soapbox derby in his bag. It's in three days. She's so determined to make this work for him that she doesn't see he doesn't want to do it. To the point that after she stays up for two days making a car he rolls it out into traffic. He points out that kids at school are always staring at him and treating him different and he doesn't want to be only kid with his mom at the derby and be even more different. She finally realizes that she can't make it better so she does the next best thing she has Tom, Bob, Lee, and Ben come over to help with a new car. And they all point out that it's not just the car they can help with, he can come to any of them anytime for their help. He appreciates this and the build a replica of a Corvette Sting-Ray, which was Mike's favorite car. As Bree gets to know her lawyer Trip she realizes that she has a crush on him, even though they have nothing in common. They laugh, they eat together, they argue, they prep for her case. At the pre-trial hearing, however, it comes out that that prosecutor wants to call at least 8 of the dudes that Bree slept with when she was on her bender. It's supposed to help prove that she could've slept with Alejandro and simply not have remembered it. Trip says he needs to hear all about it but Bree is embarrassed. So he goes first and tells her some embarrassing stories about his sexual history. This loosens her up so she can talk to him. It turns out that it's good that they prepped because it turns out all of this stuff will be admissible in court. As she explains all of this to the girls they clearly see she has a crush on him. She tries to deny it but sees what they're saying. Susan says it makes sense because he's saving her but all the ladies agree she has to keep a clear head and not act on her crush. She agrees but then when she goes to see him later and he suggests talking over case stuff over dinner Bree protests weakly before agreeing to go out with him. Renee and Ben are working on their wedding plans when she sees he has been subpoena-ed for Bree's trial. He tries to play it off as if it's nothing but she knows that something is up. He begs off. She storms off saying that she's not sure she can marry him if he's going to keep secrets from each other. After he takes a few days to think about it he explains that he is actually protecting her by not telling her what's up so she can't be dragged into it. She points out that in the U.S. they have spousal privilege so the minute they're married he's coming clean and telling her what's up since she can't be forced to testify against him.

"Desperate Housewives" - "With So Little To Be Sure Of" - April 1, 2012 Lee is helping Susan pack up Mike's things to give away when he comes across a locked box in the closet. She wants to open it but he convinces her to let him open it and then decide whether she should know what's in it since he doesn't want Mike's reputation to be tarnished in her eyes. She agrees. That is until he opens and then refuses to tell her what's inside. It drives her crazy for a few hours so she goes over to his house and demands to see the contents. Inside are several things: passports, photos, keepsakes. But the thing that Lee was worried about her seeing was a checkbook and drawings. Eight years ago, before he and Susan got back togeher, he opened a secret account from which he sent checks every month to a woman named Laura Hernandez. With the checkbook are children's drawings. So of couse Lee and Susan assumes this means that Mike had a secret child. When she and Julie go to speak to Laura Hernandez it turns out that she runs a group home for developmentally disable adults and Mike didn't have a child but an older sister with severe autism. Mike was paying for her care in this group home. Susan wonders why Mike didn't tell her. Julie finally reads the old letters in the locked box and discovers letters from Mike's mother explaining. Mike never told Susan because he himself didn't know until 8 years ago. His mother explained that she put his sister in this home because Mike's father was a hard man and caring for a child with severe autism would've been too difficult. She was too ashamed to ever tell Mike until she was very old apparently and she begged him not to tell Susan or anyone lest they judge her. Susan and Julie realize, Mike wasn't keeping a secret FROM them, he was keeping a secret FOR his mother. Even though her last grand plan to woo Tom back went disastrously when he caught on fire Lynette is still determined to get him back so she begins making his favorite cake for his birthday. Meanwhile at his house Jane is offering up other ways to celebrate his birthday, like bringing up his divorce papers and when he's going to get Lynette to sign them. Tom begs off saying he's been very busy. She offers to have them messengered over. He promises he will do it soon. But that's not good enough for Jane. On the pretense of bringing back some of the kids schoolbooks' Jane goes to Lynette's. They snipe at each other as Lynette explains she's making Tom's favorite birthday cake. Then Jane pulls out the divorce papers as her coup de grace saying Tom has already signed them. Lynette is so shocked and upset she whips green cake batter on Jane's clothes. Jane storms out. Later that night Lynette confronts Tom at the restaurant where he's meeting Jane for dinner. She brings the divorce papers. He is beside himself that Jane brought them to her. She asks when he signed them. He says awhile ago. They begin to bicker and he points out that this has been difficult for him too. She point blank asks him if this is what he wants, to dissolve their marriage. He says nothing. She signs the papers and leaves the restaurant. As she's backing up her car she almost hits someone. She calls out to them "I'm sorry." And then breaks down into tears saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" in her car by herself. At home Tom is so mad at Jane he can't even speak. She tries to explain that she was trying to help. He explodes at her that dissolving his 25 year marriage is not easy and she is not helping and that he will always care about Lynette because she is the mother of his children and Jane had better decide if she can live with that and then he storms out. Gaby is struggling finding clients at the department store until her boss suggests she go to the men's department, take off her wedding ring, play up her cleavage and make some sales. Not surprisingly she is successful at getting shlubs to shell out for pricey suits and gear when she flirts with them. Carlos isn't thrilled about this but Gaby says them's the rules baby and besides he was constantly playing up her sex appeal when she went out with him on client dinners so he can't complain now. When she treats Carlos to a fancy dinner and one of her clients shows up, she whips off her wedding ring, hands it to Carlos and tells the client that Carlos is his brother. Carlos doesn't care for this and storms out. At the valet she says she is only doing what he wanted, becoming the breadwinner since he wanted to be a counselor. He says he's not comfortable with that. She says it's too bad. Bree is throwing Renee a bridal shower that is very proper, from the perfect roses to the mini-quiches to the directive to the guests to give Renee appropriate gifts. Renee is annoyed that there are no fun, sexy, vibrating gifts just sensible kitchen gadgets. Gaby pulls Bree aside and warns her she hired some male strippers to spice things up. Bree is aghast. The doorbell rings and it's the cops. Gaby mistakes them for the strippers but they are very much real police who arrest her for the murder of Ramon Sanchez. Bob springs her quickly and he and Bree note that the case against her is pretty thin but she'll need a real hot shot defense attorney to make it work. The girls offer to pay for this attorney since Bree is taking the heat for all of them. (Carlos is upset about it but Gaby points out that right now silence is his best option since this would be his third strike.) Bree goes to see a "shark" Bob recommends named Tripp Weston. He points out the many ways he could get her off but declines to take her case because it is boring because she is innocent. The detectives on the case, looking for ways to connect Bree to Ramon, head to a motel where he stayed. The proprietor produces a box of stuff he left behind including a map on which he circled Wisteria Lane. One detective points out this might not be enough, so the other-- the one who was partners with Chuck Vance and has a vendetta against Bree-- writes the number of her house on the map, forcing a connection. They call Bree back to the police station and she is confused when she sees the number of her house on the map. (Since Ramon/Alejandro didn't know her this makes no sense.) While waiting for Bob to arrive before answering any more questions she goes to get a drink of water. Clearly distraught she runs into Tripp who offers on the spot to be her lawyer and dresses down the detective for trying question Bree without counsel. He and Bree leave. She wonders why he will now take her case. He says it's gotten more interesting: she may be innocent but it's obvious to him that she knows who did do it.

"Desperate Housewives" - "Any Moment"- March 25, 2012 Renee had been waiting for a proposal from Ben for months and he had many opportunities. She got so frustrated after a romantic six course meal she basically yelled at him "where's the ring?!" It turns out he was going to propose but chickened out. But just as he's getting down one knee to pop the question the police show up to inquire after a body found on his construction site. The next day Renee and Ben come to show off their ring and share their news. Ben mentions the cops and while Renee blathers about the engagement, Ben and Bree engage in a coded conversation in which he reassures her that he's in the clear and the cops aren't suspicious of him. Meanwhile, Susan's troubled eight-year-old son, MJ, is struggling with the loss of his dad. He's demanding ice cream for breakfast, playing video games at 2:00 in the morning, and sassing Julie as she tries to get him under control. Susan is inclined to disipline him since he's suffered such a big loss. But when Susan learns that MJ threw a stapler at his teacher's head and injures her for no reason, and then she herself gets so angry that she sweeps all of the stuff off of the same teacher's desk and hurts her foot she realizes it has to stop. She goes to MJ and explains that trying to cover up their hurt and anger with food, video games, violence and other distractions isn't healthy. They need to mourn and be angry so they can heal. To that end she takes a basket full of jam that one of the neighbors gave her and she and MJ take turns hurling the jars at the garage wall to let their feelings out in a healthy way. On a mission to get Tom back, Lynette enlists Penny to get him out of the house for the night by essentially tricking Jane into taking her to see Taylor Swift in concert. Lynette lies and says the power is out to get Tom over and to have an excuse to have lit hundreds of candles. Once there she claims that she's trying out a new recipe for beef bourguignon which she pretends to forget that he loves. And then she just happens to have some old photo albums out from their second anniversary. They drink wine, eat, and reminisce about how romantic they were before work, kids, and life got in the way. They are about to have a moment when Tom's sleeve catches on fire after he puts it too close to a lighted candle. Lynette runs to turn on a light to see how burnt he is... and he immediately realizes the power isn't out and she tricked him into coming over. He is livid. Tom claims that he just moved in with Jane and can't believe Lynette would pull a ruse like this. She apologizes for the manner in which she got him in the mood but says he can't deny the mood was there. Tom angrily stalks out. Later, Lynette explains to Penny that the ruse didn't work. Penny tells her to keep fighting, because what guy could resist that. At their apartment Jane applies some balm to Tom's arm and says as his physician he's cleared for sexual activity. He begs off saying he has work to do. And she says the beauty of them living together is she's there if he changes his mind. Elsewhere, Gaby is having trouble getting her head around the idea that they're self-indulgent lifestyle is going to change so she decides to get a job. But after a blunt conversation with an employment agency reveals she has no skills she goes on an ill-advised shopping spree at the department store to soothe herself. Carlos comes home and informs her in no uncertain terms that the stuff must go back. When she goes to return the items the store employees-- who were wowed by her shopping prowess-- offer her a job as a personal shopper. She snaps it up. Finally, Bree is in for a big surprise when Andrew comes home with a new romantic partner: a woman named Mary Beth. When Bree discovers that Mary Beth is the daughter of a food magnate and an heiress she realizes that Andrew is only marrying her for her money. She tries to convince him to give this up, she says he's here, he's queer, and she's used to it. He balks. So she throws an "engagement party" to which she invites all of his old gay friends. He is flabbergasted. Mary Beth joins Bree in the kitchen and comes clean that she knows Andrew is gay. She points out that she used to be morbidly obese and thought that when she lost the weight the men would come running and they didn't. She thinks Andrew is sweet and funny and nice and figures she could do worse. Bree tells her that she should never settle and that true real love is out there for her. Mary Beth leaves and Andrew is livid. He breaks down and explains he's in serious financial trouble and didn't want to come running home to Bree again like he did when he needed a job or when he was drinking and he's tired of her seeing him as a failure. Bree says the fact that he didn't want to come to her means she's a failure. They agree to say they're both failures with a laugh. She offers him a place to stay until he gets back on his feet. Later in the final scene, she calls Ben to thank him for not ratting her out to the police. The only problem is, she's ratting herself out. After they got a finger print match off the mug from last week's interrrogation, the police (whom still hold a bitter grudge against Bree for dumping Chuck Vance) got a warrant to tap her phone. And she admits that she put that body in the ground and it weighs on her mind every day. We cut to the interior of a police van across the street and the cop saying "gotcha."

Renee points out that Susan never rang her bell. Susan is explaining her Felicia/Paul story when Renee gets and ignores a call from her ex. Renee starts talking about how her ex always calls when "he needs" her so that is probably why he is calling now. Renee continues talking about her issues and Lynette says it is Susan's night to shine, not Renee's! Bree announces they're doing a progressive party for her to welcome her back: drinks at Renee's, salad at Lynette's, entree at Bree's, dessert at Gaby's.Bree invites Renee to go shopping at Chuck's wife's boutique. This is to help put Chuck's soon-to-be ex in a good mood for the meeting with the lawyer. Bree buys a bunch of, ridiculous, stuff. She calls her lawyer after Bree leaves and says they can do better and he should tear up the agreement she said she'd sign.Gaby gets in her car and drives off and her stepdad follows her. She pulls over to a spot by the road and gets out her gun. She walks into the woods and he follows. She confronts him saying she thought he was dead. He says he's mad because she was in their hometown talking about him molesting her. She pulls her gun and fires off a warning shot and calls him out for the rapist he is/was. She tells him to get on his knees. He asks her not to "do this." She says she remembers asking him the same thing and it didn't work. He apologizes and admits to raping her. She holds the gun to his head but can't shoot. She forces him back into his car and tells him to go back to being dead. Shaken, she vomits. On the night of the dinner party Carlos tries to beg off because he's tired and because of Bree. He says he needs to go to the office and catch up on some work. Carlos finds her gun. She tells him about what happened. He hugs her and says if he had been there he would've shot him like a dog.Renee chats with the bartender, a hot young guy, basically telling him to stop gabbing and start working. Bob and Lee break the news that Renee's ex-husband is getting re-married, the reason he was calling her. Vance arrives and tells Bree that Doreen is mad now and wants the lake house and he feels like she knows he's desperate. Bree does not come clean.Lynette arrives at the party, alone. She says Tom has to work. Bree says the same of Carlos. Susan tells Lynette that Penny has it in her head that her parents are splitting up but Susan reassured her that wouldn't happen. Lynette whispers "Tom left me." They walk outside and talk and head to Lynette's house to make her salads. And Tom is there and Lynette is surprised. Turns out he went to get Mandarin oranges. He says he put the suitcase in the closet. The party arrives at the Scavo's. Bob and Lee break the news about Renee to Lynette. She barges in, wasted with her "date" Edgar, the bartender. They start making out.Bree goes to talks to Chuck and he's on the phone telling Doreen she can have the money and the lake house. Bree thanks him. They decide to skip the salad and go straight for the entree, wink, wink.Renee keeps making a fool of herself and Lee continues to try and talk her down.Lynette joins Tom in the study and he offers her a drink. He says he was in fact trying to leave her but he changed his mind, knowing it wasn't the right way to do it, picturing her alone at the party having to make stuff up. She explains she thought her worst fear, him leaving her, had come true. She said she kept waiting to feel devastated but instead she felt something she couldn't articulate. And then when she saw him when she walked in she realized what she had been feeling, it was relief. Ouch. He asks what they're going to say to people. She says nothing, it's Susan's night. He says they shouldn't tell anyone until they tell the kids. Lynette says "oh God, the kids."Bree and Chuck do the deed, successfully it seems. Unfortunately, this did in her chickens. They rush downstairs as everyone is walking in. The smoke alarm is going off and the chickens are ruined. They're clearly in flagrante when they confront everyone. Bree says her oven malfunctioned. Everyone giggles and drinks wine as Bree and Chuck go to buy more chickens.Renee and Edgar's "relationship" is going through all of its stages in a few hours.Renee breaks the news to Lynette that she and Edgar are "over." But she says she knows that it's really about Doug and how he no longer needs her. Lynette breaks down and she tells Renee the news. Renee says "no not you guys!" Renee hugs her as she cries. The dinner continues apace and Susan gives a nice little speech for being welcomed back to the Lane, thanking each friend indiviually.Gaby goes to get the dessert ready and is confronted by her stepfather who says a bunch of vile and hateful stuff to her about how slutty she was as a teenager and he goes to put his hand over her mouth again like he used to. Gaby is horrified but doesn't fight back demonstrably because he implies that he has her gun in his jacket. Carlos arrives home and sees what's happening and strikes him with a candlestick. (Carlos with the candlestick in the living room!)Gaby freaks out and wants to call the police until Carlos realizes he's dead and unarmed. Susan, Bree, and Lynette arrive to help out and see the body. Carlos admits he's dead. Gaby says it will be impossible to explain since the man was already presumed dead and she didn't report him raping her when she was a teenager. Carlos says if he has to go to prison for protecting his wife he will. Bree, of course, says that won't be necessary. They all pitch in to dispose of the body before the rest of the party guests arrive and, amazingly, the party continues.

He tells her about her grandma who is in the album. Gaby overhears him say that his mom was the light of his life and thinks about her everyday and that's why they named her after his mom. Carlos overhears this.Orson finishes up moving out. Orson asks if she's okay. Checklist: divorce, lost business, wonders why she quit drinking. He feels badly but they both know it was over. He says she needs a project. She says this time she won't distract herself with busy work and instead will sit quietly and think about what she's going to do with her life. He says he knows whatever it is, it will be spectacular. They hold hands for a moment and he says goodbye. She sits quietly and cries. She then walks over to her family photos and stares at them in turn: Andrew, Orson, the family, her wedding photo with Rex. When Orson calls to check up on her she says she took his advice.Paul goes to visit Felicia in prison. She got 18 months with good behavior. She threatens him. When he hangs up, he confirms that he did.Susan is trying to sell her "wearable art" to the girls. They take pity on her and buy some of the awful stuff. Lynette introduces Renee. They trade barbs again and the girls think it's weird and discomforting. Renee goes one toke over the line though when she criticizes the way Lynette "ended up." They begin to really fight about their different choices in life. Lynette calls Renee a gold digger. Renee says the Lynette she know would never be happy with this boring life: in college she backpacked through Croatia, jumped onstage at a Springsteen concert, and had a threesome with two Rugby players. Tom hears this last part and drops his briefcase.Later she decompresses with Tom, wondering why Renee came all the way to Fairview to dump on her. Tom is still stuck on the rugby player thing. She tries to get him to focus and that Renee doesn't get to be disappointed in Lynette's life. Lynette goes to talk to her about it. She does this by giving her the Yellow Pages to find a hotel and she tells Renee she wins. Renee opens up and admits that Doug is leaving her and is cheating on her with his agent's assistant. She just ran away from the situation and came right to Lynette. She's a wreck. Lynette tells her she can stay as long as she wants. Renee offers to show her appreciation by buying Lynette her first facelift.Carlos shows up at the hospital and tells the administrator that he's either suing the hospital to bankruptcy or this guy makes the whole thing go away and that Gaby never finds out. He tells hospital guy that he can't tell Gaby. And then Gaby tells Bree she can't ruin Carlos' happiness by telling him about Andrew and his mother. Right now life is perfect and she won't let anything change that.Susan arrives home and finds out that they've got yet another problem, the bank turned down Mike's loan application so he can't hire any people and they'll never save enough money to get back to their house. Mike says he's thinking about going to Alaska to work on an oil rig for six months or a year. She says she thinks her "jewelry" thing might work out and asks him to give her a month to make some cash. She goes to Maxine and signs up to do "Va-va-broom."Bree has hired a contractor to take a look at the house and talk design. He thinks she could do something "bold" with the colors in the room. She's not so sure about his idea for "scarlet red." Orson arrives with the "final division of assets" for Bree to sign. She mentions Andrew wants to have him over for dinner and they all hope that he still feels part of the family. Then his physical therapist lets slip that they're dating. Bree is appalled. He points out they were separated and at their age they can't let happiness pass them by. She comes back in and the contractor tells her he's got a great color for her living, room one that will make her look superhot. She turns her eyes on him and, and since he's hot, gets some interesting ideas.Lee comes to visit Paul who lets him know that he wants to buy his old house back. He's got a "plan."
