The Masked Mallard
Scrooge's recent business dealings...
more
Scrooge's recent business dealings have been thwarted by the appearance of a new television personality named Lawrence Loudmouth, who takes every opportunity he can to try and drag Scrooge's name through the mud.Scrooge is beside himself, regarding how to redeem himself in a positive way, when he notices a swashbuckling movie that his nephews are watching. This gives him an idea, and with Gyro Gearloose's help, Scrooge becomes a superhero patrolling Duckburg, calling himself The Masked Mallard.Once the Masked Mallard's exploits of heroism have reached all corners of Duckburg, Scrooge holds a press conference intending to reveal his secret identity, but Lawrence Loudmout appears, with photographs showing the Masked Mallard robbing a bank. Needless to say, Scrooge puts his revealing plans on hold.At a society function shortly thereafter, Scrooge and Gizmoduck are in attendance, and the Masked Mallard strikes again, but proves too illusive for Gizmoduck to capture him.Scrooge then dons his own Masked Mallard outfit, intending to catch the imposter, but is caught by Gizmoduck instead, who unmasks Scrooge. Scrooge manages to escape, but now is in hiding due to the fact that the police are looking for him.As he watches a newscast by Lawrence Loudmouth, Scrooge notices that only Lawrence seems to have any video footage regarding the crimes of the imposter Masked Mallard.Scrooge then breaks into Loudmouth's residence, where he finds the suit that Lawrence has been using. However, before he can leave, Scrooge is knocked out. He awakens to find himself tied to a flagpole outside Loudmouth's penthouse apartment, with the crooked talk-show host intending to pull one last heist before jetting off to Rio.After some time, Scrooge manages to get free, and tracks down Lawrence. The two eventually fight before Scrooge gains the upperhand, revealing Loudmouth as the imposter and a slanderer, and that he (Scrooge) is the real Masked Mallard. However, now that Loudmouth is in prison and will not be ruining his business, Scrooge hangs up his superhero outfit for good.

more
With Scrooge's fortune at the bottom of the Duckburg harbor, every single person is after it, as the adage for finding sunken treasure is 'finders keepers.'Scrooge, Launchpad and Gizmoduck search the ocean, and manage to find the bin. Suddenly, the water around the bin parts, and a giant spaceship appears, swallowing it up and taken away!Scrooge returns to land, where he, Gizmoduck and Launchpad take to space in an old space shuttle. They follow a trail of coins that are leaking from the money bin. The trail leads them to a planet inhabited by robots, where they are brought before the Master Electronic Leader, also known as M.E.L. Mel explains that Scrooge's money will be melted down to produce more robots, while Scrooge and his companions are to be turned into axle grease. When Gizmoduck voices his opinion, Mel is shocked to find that he doesn't talk like a robot. Mel then strips the outershell of Gizmoduck, revealing to Scrooge, Fenton's identity. This revelation causes Scrooge to lose hope, with Fenton wanting to prove that his boss can depend on him.Fenton then challenges Mel to a counting contest. It soon becomes apparent that Mel's faculties are no match for Fenton's counting might, causing the enormous computer to blow. Fenton retrieves his suit, and becomes Gizmoduck again.Gizmoduck rescues Scrooge and Fenton, sending them off while he takes care of retrieving Scrooge's Money Bin.Shortly after getting off the planet, Scrooge is shocked when it seems that the planet seemed to explode. Shortly thereafter, a giant alien ship swallows them up. This turns out to be Gizmoduck at the controls, with Scrooge's bin safely aboard. While over the Earth, Launchpad accidentally jettisons the bin, causing Scrooge to jump out into space, and ride the bin all the way down to Duckburg. The impact causes the freeway that was being built in the bin's place, to buckle and fly into the air...crashing down on the residence of Ma Beagle's place.Launchpad and Gizmoduck arrive soon after, and meet up with Scrooge. Scrooge commends Gizmoduck, and mentions to 'tell Fenton' that he has work for him to do as well.

On a Thursday, Huey, Dewey and Louie notice a store having a sale on bicycles, but are short on cash. The store owner mentions that the sale will last until Saturday, but this is the same day that Uncle Scrooge gives the boys their allowances, and that'll be too late to get the bikes. The boys ask Scrooge for an advance on their allowance, but he refuses.Using their heads, the nephews decide to trick Scrooge, replacing everything mentioning Friday with Saturday items. Scrooge falls for the ruse, and pays the boys. However, when he begins to conduct business, Scrooge is confused why people wish to discuss Friday information when it is Saturday. With the business world believing him to be correct (if you can't trust Scrooge McDuck, who can you trust?), everyone soon assumes that it really is Saturday. This begins to cause chaos throughout the world, and the boys feel it as well. Going to buy the bikes, the store employees say the sale is off since it is Saturday.A crucial business deal for Scrooge has also fallen apart due to the date error. Fenton Crackshell has been sent to the Banana Republic to renew a factory contract, but with the country's dictator claiming that the date to renew fell on a Friday, he refuses to renew. The nephews, after seeing all the trouble they have caused, finally confess what happened to Scrooge. When Fenton calls Scrooge regarding the contract issues, Scrooge flies to the Republic with the nephews stowing away.Scrooge tries to convince the dictator, but he and Fenton are both jailed when Scrooge and the dictator get into a shouting match. Hoping to free Scrooge and Fenton, the nephews reveal that there should have been a solar eclipse over the Republic on Friday. Sure enough, this proves correct, and Scrooge and Fenton are released, with Scrooge signing the renewal to the contract.Everyone gets home just in time for Friday to really become Saturday.

more
Scrooge is beset by all manner of people asking for hand-outs, donations, etc. This finally takes a toll on his mental and physical health, causing him to develop a bad case of 'the shakes.' A doctor explains to Scrooge that he must go somewhere where there is no money, and suggests the Kingdom of Tra-la-la. Before leaving, Scrooge is given a purple 'nerve' liquid that comes in bottles with metal bottlecaps. He is then accompanied by Launchpad McQuack, his nephews, and Fenton Crackshell.Upon arrival in Tra-La-La, Scrooge is amazed that everyone is willing to help one another without monetary need. While this is great news for Scrooge, it's a nightmare for Fenton, whose accounting skills are not needed. While traversing through a field, a farmer finds a bottlecap from one of Scrooge's medicine bottles. Fenton then expounds on how it being the only one makes it rare. Before long, the other residents find that Scrooge has more caps, and want these as well.To placate them, Scrooge plans to give everyone a single bottlecap, but this is sabotaged when one person gets two. Hoping to stem the tide, Scrooge sends Launchpad back to the outside world and bring back a million bottlecaps. Fenton instead chimes in that it should be a billion.Soon, Launchpad returns with the first shipment, which then causes the people to use the bottlecaps as currency, ruining the once-happy kingdom. Launchpad then delivers more bottlecaps, which begin to clutter the landscape. Scrooge, Fenton and the nephews are about to be drowned, until Scrooge mentions that only they can stop Launchpad.Scrooge and Fenton are let go, but the nephews are kept captive. Upon seeing the plane, and remembering his Gizmoduck suit is inside, Fenton says the command words, and becomes his amazing alter-ego. The plane is stopped, and Gizmoduck helps clean up the bottlecap clutter, helping to restore Tra-la-la to it's once peaceful state.

Scrooge's fortune is washed out of Lake Dobegone, along with Fenton. Due to some clever sandbagging, the Beagle Boys manage to guide the money all the way to a lake by Ma Beagle's residence.Scrooge is incensed at the whole thing, until Fenton makes a suggestion to 'freeze his assets,' or in other words, freeze the lake where Scrooge's fortune is. Scrooge takes this into consideration, and using dry ice and a fleet of helicopters, retrieves his money from the Beagle Boys and their Mother.Fenton helps get the money unfrozen, and Scrooge's bin is once again full. However, Scrooge is once again plunged into despair, when Fenton mentions that he used a dime in a glass case to make the phone call. Scrooge angrily flies into a rage, as Fenton has spent his lucky 'number one dime.' Fenton goes searching for the dime, only to trail it to a bank, where the Beagles make off with it, in a sack of dimes from the phone company. Fenton tries to get the dime back, but each of his schemes leaves him being beaten up by the Beagle Boys.Meanwhile, Scrooge commissions Gyro Gearloose to construct a robot to guard the bin. Gyro creates a transforming robot van, dubbed the GI-CU2. However, the robot ends up going out of control, not letting anyone near the bin. Scrooge demands that Gyro make another robot, only this time, one that has a brain.Gyro then creates a suit to be worn by a person, dubbing the creation Gizmoduck. To prevent anyone from using it, Gyro enters a 'nonsense' word ("Blatherskite") as the activation password. While Gyro is distracted, Fenton finds out about the suit, and tries to put it on, in hopes of getting Scrooge's dime back. However, growing exasperated, he shouts 'Blabbering Blatherskite,' activating the suit. With the suit, Fenton manages to get Scrooge's dime back, and returns it to Scrooge in the guise of Gizmoduck, not divulging his secret identity. Scrooge then has Gizmoduck go up against the GI-CU2.

The Beagle Boys tamper with some blueprints regarding a new super-high way for Duckburg, setting it to run right through Scrooge's money bin. The boys plan for the ensuing aftermath to allow them to gain access to Scrooge's assets. When Scrooge finds out about the super-highway's construction plans, he goes immediately to the mayor, who explains that his hands are tied, since the plans were approved months before (of course, the mayor and the others have no idea of the Beagle's tampering).Scrooge worries what to do, and decides to hire an accountant to keep track of his fortune when he moves his bin. During the interview process, he finds his duck in the form of the incredibly insistent Fenton Crackshell. While his annoying personality does not adhere him to Scrooge, his ability to accurately count anything gets him the job. After hiring Fenton, Scrooge is conned into buying land on a mountaintop from B&B Realty, not realizing it's a con by the Beagle Boys, to then drop the bin down into the backyard of Ma Beagle's house. To complicate matters, Fenton misunderstands Scrooge's comment about keeping his 'liquid assets' safe, and dumps Scrooge's entire fortune into Lake Dobegone (pronounced 'do be gone'). Scrooge and Fenton then set-up survailence at the lake, and are soon joined by Scrooge's nephews.Launchpad meanwhile, transports the empty bin to the mountaintop, where the Beagle Boys detonate the cliffside, sending the bin down to Ma Beagle's place. However, they are surprised to find it empty. Scrooge manages to get the bin back, by disguising himself as a 'tax assessor,' and Launchpad transports the bin to another mountaintop.Meanwhile, the Beagle Boys have found out about Scrooge's fortune in the lake, and trick Fenton into letting loose a pack of 'super-termites' on the lake's dam. Fenton further adds to the problem by using a woodpecker call, thinking they'll take care of the termites...but not realizing they'll tear apart the dam. Once the wooded dam bursts, Scrooge's fortune is carried off, along with Fenton.

more
While out for a stroll in Duckburg, Scrooge is shocked when he is arrested for grand theft. According to Flintheart Glomgold's report to the local news, Scrooge was responsible for the theft of his art museum's most treasured piece: 'The Duck A'lorange,' painted by famous artist Pablo Piquacko. Upon a search of the Mansion, the painting is found wrapped in sheet.Scrooge is then put on trial, and a number of his family and friends are brought to testify. The first to do so is Launchpad McQuack, who explains that he 'crashed' Scrooge in the neighborhood of the art museum. When asked to explain why, Launchpad explains that Scrooge was picking up a painting, and noone was to know.Mrs. Beakley is the second person to testify, who explains that she saw Scrooge sneaking into the house with the wrapped painting. Upon hearing this, Scrooge exclaims that it wasn't the Duck A'lorange. He was in the neighborhood to pick up a family portrait that was painted by an artist named Monsieur Le'oink. However, he is shouted down by the judge. The final piece of 'evidence' is a surveillance video, that appears to show Scrooge sneaking through the art museum, and making off with the painting. The jury then finds Scrooge guilty, and sends him to Aquatraz, where noone has ever escaped from.Scrooge soon finds himself in a tight spot with his new roommate, Mad Dog McGurk. McGurk makes Scrooge's life miserable for a time, but then eventually warms up to the duck.Meanwhile, Huey, Dewey and Louie are investigating on their own time, trying to clear Scrooge's name. Making their way to the neighborhood where Glomgold's art museum, they see him and a painter (most likely Monsieur Le'oink) talking about doing away with another canvas-wrapped painting. The boys follow the pig as he throws it off the Duckburg Bay Bridge. Upon retrieving the painting, the boys assume that this was what Scrooge thought he was picking up. Their guess is confirmed when the canvas is removed, revealing a family portrait, just as Scrooge mentions. However, the water damage causes the painting to mix together. Even so, the boys try to convince the judge, but the painting doesn't provide enough evidence to clear Scrooge. Upon their request, the judge grants the nephews the chance to view the surveillance tape for more information.Shortly afterward, the McDuck family visits Scrooge in jail. The boys discuss with Scrooge their continuing investigation. Mad Dog commends Scrooge for having such a good family, but also tells of how he hasn't seen his Mother in ages. This prompts Scrooge to make a request, and at the next visitor's day, Mad Dog's Mother surprises him. This gesture pleases Mad Dog, who then plans to bust himself and Scrooge out of Aquatraz.Meanwhile, Scrooge's nephews review the surveillance video, and notice something in the background. As the tape plays, it is revealed that it wasn't Scrooge, but Flintheart Glomgold disguised as Scrooge, who did frame him! The boys rush off to tell the judge, as word over the radio tells of Scrooge and Mad Dog's escape.During their getaway, Mad Dog reveals just why he was put away. Apparently, a 'rich duck' wanted him to get him some jewels, but didn't specify that they weren't his. Further description reveals that Glomgold was the culprit behind Mad Dog's incarceration as well. Upon being rescued, it is made apparent that Scrooge's nephews have cleared his name, and shortly thereafter, Mad Dog's name is cleared as well. Scrooge even goes so far as to give Mad Dog a job with his company, much to the delight of his Mother. However, Glomgold has not gotten off scott-free for his transgressions. By order of the judge, a painting of Scrooge has to sit over his mantlepiece as a form of punishment for what he attempted.

Word reaches Flintheart Glomgold's ears that Scrooge is close to discovering Aladdin's lamp. Not wanting to be bested by his rival, Glomgold goes after the lamp as well. In their mad dash to obtain it, both seem to have rubbed the lamp at the same time, revealing a genie. The genie tries to get the two to decide who is the real master of the lamp, but neither will give the other the advantage. While watching Scrooge's nephews race down a rope that was lowered into the chamber, the genie hits on a solution: both Scrooge and Glomgold will have a race, with the first one making it to the 'Duckburg Ice Cream Parlor' (the spot was decided by the nephews) to be the winner. Hoping to 'sweeten the deal,' Scrooge tells the genie he can relax at his mansion until the race is over. The genie accepts, and transports himself and the nephews back to Scrooge's mansion. Both Scrooge and Glomgold set off on the race, as the genie grows more and more enamored with the service and hospitality...most likely the first time someone has served him. While relaxing one evening, the genie realizes there's a loophole to his plan: he can continue to enjoy this life as long as Scrooge or Glomgold don't win the race. Using his powers, he sends them back in time.Scrooge and Glomgold are then captured by desert bandits, whose Sultan thinks they are there to abscond with his prized possession: the storyteller Shewebezarde. The two are sentenced to death, but are saved by Shewebezarde, whose storytelling powers put anyone who listens to sleep. The three manage to escape, but not before the Sultan sends his men after her.Back in the present day, the nephews, Duckworth and Webby have found out about this, and manage to trap the genie in his lamp, forcing him to return Scrooge and Glomgold to their time. The genie complies, and Scrooge and Glomgold continue the race. However, Glomgold manages to beat Scrooge, and is now the lamp's master. Glomgold's first wish sends Scrooge to a deserted island. Laughing at his good fortune, Glomgold makes the mistake of 'wishing to see the look on Scrooge's face,' sending him to the same island. Cursing his misfortune, Glomgold then inadvertently wishes he'd never found the lamp. This sends everyone back in time, where an Earth tremor causes the lamp to be buried under a pile of rubble, preventing neither Scrooge or Glomgold from ever recovering it.

Gyro gets back his latest invention, and tells of his plans to invent a floatation ray.Scrooge's imagining of Gyro's next invention sending his fortune flying through the air sends him chasing after Gyro, forbidding him from creating another such invention.

News of recent earthquakes cause Scrooge to grow wary, fearful that one could destroy his money bin and harm his fortune.Gyro Gearloose does a survey of Scrooge's property, and finds that the Futterman's Fault runs right under the money bin. To stave off underground damage, Gyro is given permission to install a giant shock absorber at the center of the fault. However, the work crew assigned to the installation refuses, when they say they can hear voices.Scrooge then gets in a mine cart, and goes down into the Earth to find these voices, with his nephews close behind. What they find are a race of creatures called the Firmians, who can rolls themselves into balls, and bounce against walls. The large amounts of activity by the Firmians is what has been causing the earthquakes recently. However, it turns out these were nothing, as the Firmians are planning their 'Great Games,' where all manner of Firmians compete for a trophy dubbed the 'Crack Pot.'Scrooge then steals the trophy, in hopes this will stave off further rolling. However, on his way back to the surface, Scrooge drops his hat, and the leader of the Firmians claims this as their new trophy, causing the games to continue. This causes a fissure to open, and eventually causes the Money bin to crack, and Scrooge's fortune to tumble down into the Firmian's caverns. However, just when Scrooge thinks all is lost, the Firmians return his fortune to the surface, and leave through their underground tunnels, off to their next great games...in a place to the west called California.

more
Flintheart Glomgold unveils a fleet of giant, robotic construction workers that are meant to give him the edge in the construction business. Scrooge on the other hand, is upset about these creations, notably that Gyro Gearloose was hired in their construction (Gyro's last robot, Armstrong, ended up kidnapping Scrooge and Gyro, and was finally stopped when doused with water).Glomgold's robots soon catch the eye of Ma Beagle, who steals one, and uses it to break 3 of her boys out of prison. Once out, the 3 then claim the 3 other robots, and begin wrecking havoc across Duckburg. Scrooge manages to convince Glomgold to help him stop the robots, by leading them to the Duckburg reservoir, in hopes that this will short them out like Gyro's previous robot, Armstrong. However, word comes a bit too late from Gyro, that unlike Armstrong, these robots are waterproof.Scrooge, Glomgold and Launchpad manage to lead the Beagle Boys to an empty warehouse, where a heavy pour of cement manages to stop the robot rampage. The Beagle Boys are carted off to jail, but Ma Beagle manages to escape. Glomgold is then presented with a bill for damages the robots caused the city, with Scrooge smilingly saying that McDuck Construction would be more than glad to help assist him...for a price.

Once Upon a Dime
When his nephews question Scrooge...
more
When his nephews question Scrooge what makes his Number One Dime so special, Scrooge tells them his life's story.Scrooge's first job as a shoe shiner netted him his Number One Dime, and while Scrooge continued to earn and work, his parents felt there was more opportunity in America. However, there was only so much money that Scrooge could afford passage. His parents sent him off with the adage, 'work smarter, not harder.'In America, Scrooge ran into numerous problems trying to earn money. He seeks out a relative named Catfish Jack who it is claimed is wealthy, but it turns out he's just as penniless as Scrooge. Scrooge helps his relative win a riverboat race, but the money they win Catfish uses to pay off those he owes money, and short-changes Scrooge.Eventually, Scrooge goes to the Klondike, and staking a claim, strikes it rich. Scrooge also ends up finding other ways to procure money, leading to the escalation of his fortune and the eventual building of his money bin.Though his nephews claim he's been wealthy for some time, Scrooge tells them that he didn't really feel rich until they came into his life, along with Mrs Beakley, Webby, and Duckworth. Scrooge claims that he feels wealthy now, as for the first time since he left Scotland, he has a family.

more
Scrooge still has to transport his money to the Grand Quiche's location in Macaroon as part of the 'Firefly Fruit contest' between him and Glomgold.Meanwhile, Scrooge's nephews are amazed to see that Scrooge has gotten into the ice cream business, and built a large factory next to the Money Bin. However, none of the ice cream trucks stop, and armed guards prevent anyone from going in. One evening, they see a fleet of the trucks heading towards the harbor. Trailing along, they find that the trucks are full of money. The whole ice cream factory set-up is further revealed when they meet Scrooge down at the harbor. Scrooge explains that with Glomgold's spies everywhere, trying to stop him, he created this ruse to ship his money to Macaroon, in two large boatloads. However, Scrooge's joy is short-lived, when it is revealed that the first shipment sank! Scrooge and the boys go to the location, only to find that the Navy have created a perimeter around the sunken ship. Scrooge and his nephews try to sneak onto the ship, where they find no trace of his fortune. Having disobeyed the Navy's request, he is taken aboard an aircraft carrier overseen by Admiral Grimitz. Grimitz explains he has no idea what became of Scrooge's fortune, but Scrooge feels that the Admiral is hiding something from him. Also aboard the aircraft carrier is Donald Duck. The Admiral asks Donald to accompany Scrooge, who is planning to transport the second half of his fortune. Grimitz reveals to Donald that he thinks that Scrooge's fortune disappeared due to the stealing of a secret sub, by a Navy scientist named Bluebottle. Word is, Bluebottle went rogue and stole the sub, and noone knows where he is. Unknown to Donald, Grimitz plants a homing device on him before he goes to join Scrooge.Scrooge transports his money on schedule, with Donald and himself in the hold of the ship. Following behind is another of Scrooge's ships, with Mrs Beakley, Webby and the nephews. Suddenly, they are shocked when a giant killer whale appears out of the ocean, and bites down into the money-carrying boat before them.Scrooge and Donald then find themselves in the belly of the beast, only to find that it's a machine. It is then that Donald accidentally lets slip about this being a secret Navy project, and how it was stolen by Bluebottle. Supposedly, he designed the sub to resemble a whale so that it would be able to maneuver better in the ocean.Soon, Scrooge and Donald have found the scientist, who is communicating with Glomgold. Apparently, Glomgold's plan is to have Bluebottle hold onto Scrooge's fortune until after the contest in Macaroon. Scrooge and Donald then attempt to overpower Bluebottle, but he soon captures them, intent on shooting them out of the sub. However, before he can, the sub is rocked by a depth charge. Suspecting that one of them holds a homing device, Bluebottle is proven correct when he finds it on Donald. Smashing it, the Navy loses it's signal, but prepares to fight against Bluebottle's sub.The battle rages for some time, but eventually, the sub is wounded, and sinks into the Marinara Trench. Scrooge manages to save himself, Donald, and Bluebottle by jettisoning his fortune into the trench, causing the sub to rise to the surface. With Bluebottle under arrest by the Navy, Scrooge then vows to return to the trench to retrieve his fortune, and get it to Macaroon for the contest.

more
Scrooge McDuck and Flintheart Glomgold are called to the residence of a man known as the Grand Quiche. Beneath his home, the Quiche has stumbled upon a rare glowing fruit he dubs "firefly fruit." Figuring it to be a valuable commodity, the Grand Quiche wants to market it, but feels the only one worthy enough to do so is the richest duck in the world. It is then that he reveals his plan. Scrooge and Flintheart have a week to transport their fortunes to the country of Macaroon, where they will be weighed. Whoever has the heaviest fortune will then have exclusive sales rights to the "firefly fruit."Not wanting to lose, Flintheart then breaks all the Beagle Boys out of jail, in hopes that they will be able to steal off Scrooge's fortune. However, Scrooge's defenses manages to deflect their first assaults. Growing ever more paranoid, Scooge has an enormous cannon he nicknames "Bertha" put in the bin, setting the tank to fire if someone comes through the vault's door. However, Scrooge accidentally triggers Bertha, and the end result causes her to blow-up, opening a fissure in the bin's floor, causing the money to leak into the water system running under the bin.Scrooge's nephews follow the water, and eventually find the money, but are swept up with it when the Beagle Boys end up gaining access to the reservoir, and end up trying to pump it into there. Scrooge soon finds them, and a tug-of-way breaks out before the money is routed into the penthouse of an upscale apartment. Scrooge manages to beat the Beagle Boys there, and then manages to stall them in the building's elevator until the Police arrive.

Down and Out in Duckburg
Scrooge McDuck goes about his daily...
more
Scrooge McDuck goes about his daily business like any normal wealthy duck. Upon visiting a tailor's shop he owns, he increases the rent when the tailor claims that business is good. When he visits an old sea captain named Captain Jack, Jack asks him for a loan to repair his boat, but Scrooge won't help, on account of the only valuable item that Jack has is his boat. A Salvation Army worker asks for a donation, to which Scrooge refuses when she can't give change for a $1000 bill. That evening, while watching television, a fox named Fritter Away storms into the mansion, claiming he has ownership over Scrooge's assets and possessions. Fritter explains that years ago, Scrooge's grandfather, Seafoam McDuck, was charged to deliver a barrel of marbles for Fritter's relative, Diddle Away. However, off the Cape of No hope, Seafoam's boat sank, and the cargo was lost. Unrealized until he returned, Seafoam had signed a form of Diddle's promising to deliver the marbles, otherwise all of Seafoam's possessions would default to Diddle. However, the only thing left to Seafoam's name was a gold watch, which he refused to hand over.Fritter explains that the watch is the reason he is there: since Scrooge is Seafoam's only surviving relative, he claims Scrooge is responsible. However, Scrooge explains that he no longer has the gold watch, as he used it years ago when he bought his claim in the Klondike, where he made his fortune. Fritter says that since this is the case, he now can claim ownership over Scrooge's holdings. After being allowed to work for Fritter, Scrooge and the others feel they can't bear being around him and leave.Scrooge attempts to get a job, but is unable to obtain one. Penniless and hungry, Scrooge and the others are forced to live out in the cold. When talking about how the situation came about, Scrooge's nephews wager that if Scrooge was able to return the missing marbles, the contract would dissolve. They go to Captain Jack, who is more than willing to help Scrooge, going by the golden rule ('do unto others as you would have them do unto you'). Reaching the Cape of No Hope, Scrooge is able to obtain the marbles, but before they can return to Duckburg, a storm traps them along the cape.A distress call is put out, which sends Fritter racing to the Cape, certain of Scrooge's actions. Once he arrives, Fritter attempts to sink Jack's boat. During the storm, Fritter is washed off his own boat. Scrooge offers him the barrel of marbles as a float, but Fritter refuses, knowing what Scrooge is up to. At the last minute, Fritter decides he wants to live, and with his accepting of the marbles, Scrooge has his fortune back.A couple days later, Scrooge appears on the television show 'Lifestyles of the Filthy Rich.' During the show, Scrooge shows real generosity, as he gives $1000 to the Salvation Army, and donates his yacht to Captain Jack, explaining how he now abides by the golden rule. Proving this, Scrooge even was willing to forgive fritter, and has given him a job: scraping the tacky paint job that was given to the mansion when Fritter took possession of it.

more
On his way out for a walk around Duckburg, Scrooge sees Huey, Dewey & Louie working a lemonade stand. When the boys explain that their profits total less than what they put into the lemonade stand, Scrooge explains that they need to economize. The boys take this idea to heart as Scrooge continues on his way.Along a side street, a fortune teller offers to tell Scrooge his fortune. In actuality, the teller is Magica DeSpell in disguise. Telling Scrooge that a dark cloud hangs over his future, Magica uses her mystical sands of time to send Scrooge into the future.Scrooge is then whisked away to the year 2017, where quite alot has changed. McDuck Enterprises has now become Magica/McDuck Enterprises. Along with Magica running his company, Scrooge finds his nephews now under her iron grip, each one of them cutthroat and greedy in their business acumen. When Scrooge asks how they became the way they are, the boys recount the lemonade stand discussion Scrooge gave them 30 years before (in 1987), but then say that shortly after, Scrooge disappeared, and Magica took his 'Number One Dime,' and control of his company. (It's interesting to note that even though Scrooge is wearing the exact same clothes as he was in 1987, his nephews don't recognize him)Scrooge desperately attempts to return to the past by going to Gyro Gearloose's place. Now old and senile, Gyro activates his 'time tub,' which only sends Scrooge crashing into another building, where he encounters Launchpad McQuack, before being arrested for his trespassing.Scrooge is then bailed out of jail by Webby and Doofus, who are now married. Scrooge eventually convinces the two of them to help him get back his lucky dime, but are once again captured, this time by Magica. With a communicator, Doofus is able to summon Launchpad who helps them escape. However, Magica gives chase along with Scrooge's nephews. When the three realize just who Magica is chasing, they cause her to crash, but not before Launchpad follows suit.As Magica tries to escape with the sands of time in her possession, Scrooge tries to stop her, breaking the container. This causes each of them to send them both through time, before almost being on the edge of a major catastrophe causes Magica to give Scrooge his dime back. Scrooge uses the last of the sand, and manages to get them back to 1987.Magica escapes, while Scrooge contends with his nephews, who have taken his advice and 'watered down' their lemonade, trying to get more out of less. Scrooge scolds them for trying to 'cheat people,' and the boys learn a little lesson in the values of quality control.
