In Documentary THE ASSEMBLAGE OF THE CRYSTAL SPHERE: A D&D STORY, a film crew follows and documents a group of Dungeons and Dragons players in the last 3 months of their five year adventure campaign. Five years ago a Dungeons and Dragons campaign of epic proportions began in the small modest apartment of Peter the Dungeon aster. This campaign brings together four individuals that set out to destroy the evil dragon Kern and return the Crystal Sphere to its rightful owner. The movie THE ASSEMBLAGE OF THE CRYSTAL SPHERE: A D&D STORY was shot in two different styles. All of the interview portions of the movie was fully scripted and written as seen in the movie. However the "game play" portions of the movie was largely improvisation. Each one of these scenes in the script was written as a loose idea as to what was going to happen and, once the camera rolled, the cast had to just react to what was happening and eventually move in the direction that was called for in the script.
