But during the investigation, it becomes evident that an extraterrestrial power is at work. Led by Bud Brigman (Ed Harris), the crew includes Brigman's estranged wife (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) and a paranoid Navy lieutenant (Michael Biehn). an excellent sci-fi movie with great cast, and excellent sfx. To fully appreciate the story line ( and to make the ending fully understandable) the 'directors cut' is the version to watch

good actors, interesting sci fi
my only criticism is it is too long.
It probably could have been done in half the time....
but other than that - good stuff

James Cameron is very well known and his successful Blockbusters Box office hits Movies , have proven that long time ago , but to me personally ' i think that "The Abyss" is one of his best Movies .
